O my support?
I rise at night, and the hours of dawn are serene.
I supplicate and whisper my prayers with tears like dew.
By the light of your face, I seek refuge and protection.
And whoever seeks refuge with you will not suffer forever,
No matter what I encounter in this world and its challenges,
For you occupy me from what harms my body.
The bitterness of living becomes sweet in your satisfaction,
And I cannot endure the wrath of living a life without ease.
Who do I have besides you? And who besides you sees and hears my heart?
All creatures are shadows in the hands of the Eternal.
I implore you, O Lord, forgive my faults out of generosity,
And make my righteous beliefs an intercessor for my prayers.
And look upon my state with fear and hope,
Will anyone besides Allah have mercy on a servant?
