1.5-2% of our inflation is due to the carbon tax as proven by Saskatchewan's government paying the tax on behalf of the citizens lowering inflation in the province. It would be considerably lower yet still if the tax wasn't already on goods due to farming and transport tax. And because we need even more tax they tax the tax and charge GST on carbon pricing which isn't accounted for in his math (hence why 60% of Canadians are worse off) as he ignores the cost of living increase due to the policy.

That’s not even true, look at the polling. Ontario is currently polling heavily conservative. Their premier is literally Doug Fraud rn. Ontario voters will vote both conservative and liberal. They’re probably the least partisan province tbh.

The sad thing is he met with the premiers 8 years ago! No wonder this country is falling apart, there is no communication!

The real problem with the carbon tax, which isn't touched here, is how it increases the cost of everything.
I don't actually care if I have to pay more for gas, not a huge deal. But it inflates the price of literally everything. That's the issue. Corporations aren't just going to eat the expense, they'll simply raise prices. You thought inflation was bad, this ain't gonna help

Easy and low or no no cost carbon tax alternatives were completely ignored. How about legislation to reduce vehicle size, lower speed limits, embrace nuclear power, ban private jets and yachts? These things cost average families nothing. Actually would save money because a small car would be less expensive to buy.

In a nutshell, the tax will force EU companies to pay a premium if those goods come from countries with lax environmental rules. The hope is the tax will keep European manufacturers competitive, given the costs they already incur complying with bloc's relatively stringent climate rules.
