I just got the VK1200, and as a digital drawing beginner and a teacher instructing on virtual classes, I can say confidently this is a great starter display tablet. I love to use it as a digital whiteboard for my classes, and gives me plenty of functionality to start drawing. I totally recommmend it.
The price is fair. You can get the same thing from Huion and Xppen for similar prices. The Huion kamvas 12 is only $20 more. I trust Huion more than veikk.

They got good quality products for less prices than Huion, and good customer service :) I used my veikk tablet that cost me $40 and was a 6x8 sized tablet for close to 2 years, not a single scratch was present on it. My 4x3 huion cost $30 and was permanently scratched in 10 minutes. I got an xp pen with tilt support and that thing looks like I've had it since my childhood in just a month. Even the shiny decorative plastic is all scratched everywhere from just cleaning it with a miceofiber cloth. I regret getting it.

His motherboard does have a HDMI port though, but when we plugged it in, it just comes up on the VK1200 that it has no signal & the screen turns off

This is a monitor so you can't install software on it. You have to install on your computer. For free drawing apps you can try Medibang Paint Pro, Krita.

I am not beginner but my budget is to low so I try to compare Gaomon PD1161 and Veikk VK1200. I couldn't decide which one is better. And the reason I question that much is that gapping issue that he mentioned at 16:06. So I am open to recommendations.

@@totoro413 Not sure what's happening. Try restarting the computer first, then switch between the three modes: mirror, extend, show only on one display
My tablet (this model) has flickering issues. constantly rendering back the previous image or page and almost causing me a seizure. I’ve seen NO ONE post about this and I desperately need help. Can anyone PLEASE offer help or advice?

I plan on getting the purple one! ^_^ Also, if you’re wondering what I’m even doing here, I actually own a Viekk A15, and it’s doing me great so far, but I did plan on getting the VK1200 someday, but I decided to reconsider considering the bigger size of the Huion Kamvas 13. Sorry, Viekk. You may have some neat tablets, but I definitely have to get a bigger one!

The USB cable also needs to be connected. If there is no power, the red USB has to go to a power source.
get a display port to hdmi adaptor
get an HDMI - USB adapter, u less his CPU has integrated graphics the port on the MB won't do anything

It needs to connect to a computer because it's a monitor. For portable tablets, go with iPad or Samsung

If it's displaying something, you can go into the Display settings to change what to show, e.g. mirror, extended, or only show on pen display

There's no drawing software included. But you can download free ones such as Krita, Medibang Paint.
