O my God! So refreshing to see and hear from the honesty!! As a hairdresser, clients tend to pressure us in to perfect. Thank you for reminding me that my mistakes are honest and thank you for remaining humble! So many of us strive for perfection, when it doesn't really exist.
I agree SO HARD with that! Lol! Yes honesty is so important and clients are reasonable and understand that it’s not perfect (for the most part! There can be some crazies out there who don’t have room for human err) but we never intend on it! If I could do perfect hair every time, I would. But this is chemistry and art. Art is not perfection. Chemistry is not easy!
U should always strive for perfection. Her attitude n outlook sucks! I know professionals here in NYC that don't ever fuck up n ur gonna leave with what u want. Start thinking like her n ur gonna b just another mediocre hairdresser! I'm sorry but the last thing she should b doing is making videos n documenting 2nd rate service u may as well go to the cut-n-corral if u plan on visiting this hairdresser. What she should b doing is improving her skill n strive for perfection. This is ridiculous

This lady seems to be a great stylist and wouldn’t compromise the integrity of your hair just because you wanted to. Like MOST of us decent hair stylists do.
Thank you so much for encouraging other professionals to be honest about making mistakes. That’s exactly the reason why I have tried three different colorists in my city and haven’t been back to either and event hesitated to recommend them when asked, because they all made pretty visible mistakes, said no word about it and I realised when I got home. Thank you for encouraging honesty. ❤️
Yeah I don’t know why some hair dressers do that 🤦♀️ I have never ever done that to clients. If I make an error I tell them and I fix it free. I also tell them if I’m not sure about something too. Like if I haven’t had enough practice etc I let them know. Best to be honest in everything life imo.
I'm not a hair dresser but I am a server so I can guarantee there's a ton of pressure put on you guys! I've found that in my line of work that people tend to respect when I'm honest about a mistake I may have made and I would 100% respect it from you as well! We are all human beings. Raw and flawed and beautiful. You did a great job though. I love listening to the technical and creative processes yall go through to get such beautiful results!
As one hairdresser to another. You are very wise and smart how you communicate things with your clients. I need to take your advice. It’s good for them to know everything that can happen. Or not happen. That’s awesome 😊
Absolutely! It’s our responsibility to let our clients know our limitations and skills, along with letting them know when something didn’t go to plan, however small or easily fixable it may be
It's so funny to see how times change. I remember that if we turned a client's hair this tone years ago, it would have morphed into a corrective appointment. Looks good!
Wow, as a stylist I really appreciate this tutorial. You also turned me on to K18 products so thank you! I hope you don't mind, how long did this take and how do you determine what you charge for this? (I often have people expecting under $200 for a transformation). Love your videos
if it’s gonna take you multiple hours to get your client to where they like they’re hair, it should be $50 to $150 per hour depending on what you’re doing to your clients hair
I once went to a hair color specialist who turned my level dark brown hair into a level 7/8 blonde on one setting . It took about 7 hours from start to finish and it cost me close to $500 plus tip . This was done almost 20 years ago , I can’t imagine what it cost now to get those kind of results on one setting especially if you have dark hair like myself or need color correction. It takes a lot of work and time .
That’s good you let your clients know when things don’t go right and offer to fix. I pay and not happy as lines where foils have been and banding so sick of it. And money down the drain. It’s very common. They don’t care.
My hair pulled orange and pink today with blonde me 20. I'm a brunette but not too dark, but dark. Virgin hair. So I either put too much developer, or I needed 30. But 30 fried my hair in the past. So my question, for my second bleach, bleach bath, or should I bleach again with 20? Did two strand test after the first bleach and it held up. So if I do a second bleach can I use a blue toner instead of the cool additive, with her bleach?
Hey Katie! When you said that you charge $25-$30 for using K18, are you referring to the spray only, or all 3 of the K18 products you used. And If that is only for the repair spray, what do you charge for the other 2 K18 products? Thanks! :)
Wow the tips in this video is amazing. Like the 7 vol on any banding in betweenbottom and top sectioning/bleach application! And I had never heard of k18 will definitely try this out. I bleach my roots and I am platinum but because of awful salon visits b4 me trusting myself to do it properly, I have fragile hair where botch jobs were done. I usually just add olaplex to my blonde me bleach(I know I dont need to, but I get great lift and no damage) and coconut oil on my whole head for any accidental overlap. I am still struggling with toner and wanting the most minimal damage/product to be used when toning for my perfect blonde
Coming back after using k18....olaplex caused me to have brittle hair, k18 was AMAZING. After I use it I have shiny hair with my curls extra curly(no styling) and NO brittle hair. Its amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing, do you think K18 is as repairing as olaplex 1/2?? I’ve been growing out my hair for 6 months after a bad application that caused me nape breakage, tomorrow I will have a risky appointment touching up my level 2 long roots using olaplex/blondeme/cotton strips to avoid breakage on my level 11 blonde length.
I haven’t figured out how to use links yet, and I couldn’t use them for professional Color and chemicals anyways. They’re not available for the general public.
We charge $35 for the whole k18 service, which includes the Chealtor Mist, the k18 Mist, and during the wash we use k18 shampoo AND the Mask, and then after the wash we use the Mask and the Oil (if needed, unless the hair is fine, then we don’t use the oil)

So I know when someone has no clue what they're doing and needs to get more education. I would obviously never return to have them touch my hair ever again. The difference is that she stated it was a minor mistake and clearly it was minimal enough that her client is happy with her stylist and has returned for another appointment. That means there is trust, which means she kinda knows wtf she's doing. And fyi, issues with lightening are not only about maintaining integrity. I would hate to have someone like you as a client, so please do take your "perfection expectations" elsewhere 👋✌️

Did you pit developer in the toner?
I dont know anything about K18 products

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you condition and then apply k18?
The k18 needs an open cuticle to work at max capacity! Using conditioner shuts down the cuticle so the k18 won’t be properly absorbed
