- We have never played Call of Duty Zombies (outside of Cold War Mythbusters). So let's play every single map and finish every quest major easter egg quest within. Shouldn't take us too long.
It's time for map 4 of Black Ops 3, Gorod Krovi! This is one of the most talked about maps in the game, especially the very infamous easter egg, let's see how it goes for us.

To be honest the ppsh was only good in world at war in the first zombies cause the only good guns were either lmgs or guns like mp40 l, the Thompson or ppsh which was a smg with lmg damage plus people just like the pack a punch name

I watch each early hour+ video, and then watch the entire release when it comes out, so I rewatch ~2hrs of content again. This shit is such a good vibe. Every 5 minutes is an interesting reaction to/interpretation of something from my childhood.

I have to say this because they do feel overhyped nowadays. A lot of people that are still around in the zombies community are also the people that were day 1 trying to solve these Easter Eggs. We also did a lot of this stuff from pure memory back in the day when access to information was a bit more limited. That said you guys are doing a great job and finding your way through guides these days is almost like an Easter Egg itself. Great work and don't worry, I turned off Ad-Block to your asking.

Thats might be a part of it. But they are also getting carried by veterans that probably have done this ee multiple times on their own. Plus theyre using all the overpowered gobblegums like Percaholic, Phoenix up, Near death expirience etc. Dont get me wrong they can play with all the op gums and help they want I dont mind, but the difficulty in Zombies was always trying to figure out what to do while hoards of the undead try to kill you.
The key to properly utilizing the Bowie Knife is to get it early, and use it often. One shot til round 9, two shot til 17. When after round 9, just a few bullets to the body then the melee finisher will do the trick. 3,000 points is nothing compared to the amount of cash you'll make if you use it to it's full potential. I love the thing, always been my favorite weapon
I always went for it in BO1 and galvacknuckles in BO2, but I never do it in BO3 for some reason
I start every zombies map by figuring out how many body shots it takes to kill in the early rounds, say it takes 6 body shots, I'll shoot 5 then mele or headshot for maximum points

To answer your question, black ops 4 was the last game where they had the level of production as this game has. Cold War really tuned the gameplay mechanics to be the best they've ever been but was a big step back in terms of the design of the maps and just filling them with unique features (there’s still some but not as much), visuals, atmosphere, etc.
But even in black ops 4 there’s a bit of a step back for the last 2 DLC maps since they cut the zombies budget
Factual, Cold War is by far the game with the best Zombies systems but the presentation is sorely lacking, even though it makes sense in a more grounded game for more grounded maps to be the case it's still unfortunate.
@@the_enderslayerI honestly don’t even think the CW gameplay mechanics are all that. It’s just too easy. Some of the mechanics are fine, but I also think BO3 did just fine with core mechanics. The obvious QoL stuff is nice though
@@Xpertfusion There *are* some things from BO3 that I do wish were in Cold War, but nothing beats finally being fully set up with 10 perks and triple packed guns. There's so much variety in how you choose to get to that point, it's like the entire game is designed like Buried (which I personally loved).
idk easiness has never been an issue to me, since 90% of the time no matter the game (except BO2 and WAW) I'm downless, at the very least until somebody else goes down and I got to break my flow to go after them and then get fucked instead lmao point being; I felt no notable change in difficulty in Cold War, and if anything I'd say it's harder since the zombies scale in damage and if you end up without armor for too long or slip up a bit too hard in the late rounds that's that. Or at the very least that's like 60000 points down the drain 🪦
edit: actually self-revives being so easily obtainable by simply crafting needs to be changed, removed, whatever, that's too much I will give you that, having 3 different ways to revive yourself with one not even requiring any skill or much investment is complete booty cheeks and everyone ive played with agrees on that whether they're good or bad at the game
@@the_enderslayer I did like no perk limit at first, but overtime I realized it made the feeling of having all perks not as special as it would be when saved for specific rewards.
Think back to like Origins where you could earn all perks with the dig sites. To me, that’s more rewarding than just buying all the perks.
Or Infinite Warfare’s super EE rewards.
It did suck that BO3 didn’t really have many ways to get more than 4 other than a few minor things (not counting gobblegums), but I guess being able to get all perks so quickly also adds to it being so easy.
I never really found zombies to be that hard either, except for when doing some Easter eggs. But there’s really no part of Cold War that feels all that challenging to me.
And as for all those things you can work towards in a match of CWZ, it’s all based around just earning points and salvage, that’s it. I miss BO3, IW, and BO4 having all sorts of side quests and fun things to go for.
Sure, there’s a few minor things on CW’s maps but it’s nothing all that big and it’s never anything unique.
I actually think they'll really like black ops 4 the maps look amazing and even though the game mechanics aren't the best it definitely stands out and feels unique, they will definitely hate the guns due to them not having all attachments and I don't think they'll like the perk system

You have to do fucking chemistry in Attack of the Radioactive Thing.
@@Riggs_The_Roadiethere's only 4 possible chemicals and you can brute force them every time. It really won't be that bad. Even if you don't brute force it, it's still really easy and people like to overcomplicate it.

This is by far the most entertaining series on youtube that I've ever watched, full stop. The most entertaining personalities I've seen in a while experiencing my favorite game series raw. When im chilling or playing a game i have the whole playlist in the background just playing on loop, or when I'm eating or getting ready to sleep or even sleeping, just have all these going on on the background, these are a great watch, honestly.
Its hilarious how James finds the loading screen funny, because i always joke around with my friends that the dragon with the long neck is symbolism for Nikolai having gonorrhea and how much it hurts to pee. 😂

Id really like y'all to watch through the cinematics from each map and listen to the audio with them at the end of bo3. the storyline is honestly incredible for being zombies.

The last few days I’ve just been binging your episodes back to back whilst building Lego despite having watched it before just because I am addicted to this series, I was literally begging to the gods for this to drop soon and so this has made my day. Please keep this series going! I think it’s one of the best things as a zombies fanatic. You made me pick up the controller and play zombies again for the first time in about a year after the disaster that was Vanguard, can’t wait for that lol, anyways keep it up.

Dubstep Monkeys literally does damage while it’s going. And a bigger explosion at the end
The bowie knife is amazing (it's my most killed weapon by a factor of 2), but it's only really useful before round 10 when it's a 1 hit kill and zombies are slower. It's a really good way of generating masses of points early on
36:00 Y’all said it perfectly here lol. The past few games just haven’t done anything as crazy and exciting as what BO3 and BO4 does (even IW and WWII are a bit more unique)
Cold War, Vanguard, and MWZ have their moments but overall don’t feel like they have that same soul and personality these other maps did

I really feel like it's all because of that decision to make Zombies fit into the same narrative universe as Modern Warfare. Can't have dragons roaming the skies when you have to explain it away elsewhere.
36:00 BO4 was, in my opinion, the last "OG zombies experience" , add that to a bunch of behind the scene BS within the treyarch and activision side of the business and the eventual successes of warzone, just killed the creative side of these games. CW was a step in the right direction but it doenst even come close to the heights of the series. Even the zombies modes of the others studios had some type of personality. even so, 10+ years of good zombies content was a good run.
This is so true, I truly wish we got Zombies Chronicles 2. Cold War perfected the gameplay but with only 4 unique maps (the least since World At War) and all of them being pretty basic (albeit I do like all of them) and capping it all off with the Operator system. The personality was just non-existent.
If Cold War's systems got put on any other maps that shit would be gold
Die machine was a fun map and Its simplicity is really new player friendly which I think is good for a launch map (not something I want from a dlc map though) legion boss fight in outbreak was a really fun experience to play with friends but other than that it was definitely lacking in atmosphere... I do think it's the best reward for a super Easter egg though starting with a purple rarity weapon is amazing
I’d love to see y’all do a tier list ranking all the Treyarch zombies maps once you’re done with them all, or maybe start a trend with the end of BO3 where you rank the maps on each separate game when you’re finished with it, and go back and do WAW, BO1, and BO2, and then once you’re done with it all do the overall ranking.

A suggestion for maybe a retrospective episode on this series. You two explore these maps and then immediately go into doing the easter egg. But I would also recommend maybe playing a few games on each map with random players and not necessarily doing the easter egg, just to get a more realistic experience that the average player would get.

Watched 30m so far, If i got to be honest i am impressed you guys made it to round 20 on your first attempt on this map.
As a returning player myself it is more than a little difficult getting used to the small health bar again after so many years of having larger health bars in modern zombies.
Takes quite a bit of getting used to for re-adjusting to classic zombies.
I am also impressed at how much you discovered in your first play through here as well as most newcomer's usually take 3-5 games before getting to see most of the stuff a new map has to offer without watching guides and stuff.

Regarding the Monkey Bomb upgrade it does boost damage. Every bounce will damage zombies and it will explode with a ton more damage overall
Second comment now that I’ve actually watched the whole video. This is my favorite zombie map they ever made and there’s actually a ton of weird tricks that work for some reason throughout various steps of the Easter egg
-For bathing the dragon egg in fire, as long as you have the egg placed in the nest and the dragon breathes anywhere on the map, it will work. Doesn’t have to actually breathe ON the egg.
-For penetrating multi kills, the mounted turret will count for it even if you get singular kills instead of actually getting penetrating multi kills. This one’s nice if you can’t get a gun thats good at multi kills/insta kill
-For the melee kill egg step, you guys found out you can use the shield melee but you can also just use the fire blast from the shield too and it will work even though its not a melee attack.
-For the mangler escort step, you can shoot its arm off and it will run much faster and you can get that step done in like 15 seconds.
-For the Valkeryie drone escort, once you get it to the staircase in front of dragon command you can blow it up there and it will work, so you don’t have to escort it all the way up. You can even see the top of the teleporter machine that sucks it up do the animation as if it were there even though it’s not.
-Technically not a weird trick but for the gersh step (shooting the floating orb) the pack a punched ray gun mark 3s right click will one shot the orb and trigger its dialogue, so you can just shoot it 3 times easily.
-On the last lock down with the manglers, you can just leave one mangler alive from the first wave (or any of the later waves if you don’t do it the first time) and train it around for the entire duration of the lockdown instead of fighting more manglers.
-While you’re doing the dragon boss fight, Nikolai can friendly fire you and damage/kill you even though you’re not fighting him yet. ACCEPT if you have quick revive (solo or co-op) he doesn’t damage you for some reason
What a series! I’d like to see you two try the Easter egg by yourselves, it’s a whole different experience when you’re the one leading the others along!

GK's Easter Eggs Difficulty mostly comes from playing it on anything other than 4 zplayers and/or playing with people who aren't coordinated enough to do the bomb step.
Mega Gum also helps tone down the difficulty(if it wasn't for the Phonenix Ups and Near Death Experience, you guys could've potentially wiped(although I doubt it)).
I also hope you guys enjoy Revelations.
It is a good map, but just not talked about as much for reasons.

A godsend, literally finally caught up on this series last night and now there’s a new upload? Talk about timing
A shame you guys never found the doppelgänger in Zetsubou, too, however that EE is just RNG from what I understand
Bowie knife has been insta kill for round 16 for as long as I can remember in every map it has been featured in
nope, it's always been one hit kill to round 9 only since der riese, galvaknuckles from BO2 was to round 16
a couple of things the death barrier when going into the easter egg has been fixed it doesn't happen anymore
using the gauntlet after launching the whelp you can jump and punch and you won't lunge forward
as for the easter egg it is fairly simple the difficulty is in the boss fight when you are doing it solo without near death experience or two players because you get focused more by nikolay

By the way 1:38:48 it is actually more powerful than a normal monkey and the dubstep music is a great bonus.
One step you guys skipped on this map was watching 2004’s “The Incredibles” to get the password for the pink cylinder you give to Sophia, really annoying step

What a journey these have been ! I'm glad you guys got to what is the last zombie map I ever played. I'm also glad you got to do the speedrun challenges, playing zombies to perform whether it means going fast or trying to reach high rounds is absolutely part of the experience. It gets boring quickly, but trying to reach certain high rounds can be fun with friends just for the sake of optimization and coordination !
On another note, being a long time listener of the podcast I've been advocating for you guys to bring your personality forward in videos ! It's been great watching you guys discovering this. I'm sure you've have ideas but I'd love to see you keep doing such discovery series on other games but I'm sure it's tough to find anything that'll make a good video !

You killed it. Lovely video. Gorod Krovi's easter egg is only hard because so many things can go wrong and it's quite easy to mess it up. E.G. Killing the mangler/drone on accident, doing an entire team wipe with the bomb step, Nikolai one-shotting you with his rolling machine bombs (he did not even use it during your fight!). If you mess up with the trophy step you have to skip a round, so a ton of people had to do these steps on high rounds.
Back in the day, this easter egg used to be a bit buggy as well. The valve step could soft lock you and the trapdoor towards the boss room could also insta-kill you if the game thought you went out of bonds during that sewer sequence.
This is by far my favorite series on RUclips rn, so good! I loved playing zombies growing up and reliving the first experience through you guys is amazing
What happened to the title cards introducing new weapons , traps and utility items ? I thought those were really cool to introduce new items and such. Anyway great video!
I think Black Ops 3 in general is just a lot more clear on what everything is officially called. On the few occasions we've given stuff a dumb nickname I've put it in the edit but just haven't forced it going forward.

Also in case nobody has said this yet, the odds of getting the Monkey Bombs from the box decrease with the more people that have it. So although everyone in the match can get them, it will take more and more box hits to get them.

It would be a cool idea to react to all the solo Easter eggs speedrun WRs after running them. They are actually insane
I’m only 8 minutes in so far but I must say when one of you kept the shadowclaws instead of picking up the PPSH from the box I died a little inside. Watch a video compilation of zombies RUclipsrs losing their mind when PPSH shows up in the trailer for this map. Love the series keep up the good work!
I loved the speedrun segment, it was a nice fresh challenge to see . Be cool if you guys tried this at least once on each map from now on and create a little leaderboard.

melee give a lot of point and bowie knife kill up to round 9 and deal even more damage with widow's wine
so a good ways to get lot of point early on is kill with melee and bowie knife make it easier for longer
