One reason why they've gotten so many views is the controversy between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, the creative director for one of HYBE's sub labels. I won't go into the complicated details, but Illit is accused of copying New Jeans musical style and other aesthetics like the way they dress and look. (New Jeans is another girl group).
I don't think so magnetic blew up before the whole controversy happened. It entered bb charts due to it being a really catchy song.The controversy on the concepts being copied happened afterwards.
