It has been confirmed that Tilian’s lyrics are about his old band Tides of Man kicking him out then asking him to come back after DGD started getting popular. One big hint is the line before the chorus “give me substance, give me something” which comes from the Tides of Man song Knowing That You’ve Already Arrived from their first album. Jon’s lyrics have not been confirmed to be about Jonny Craig but the like about pulling a scam really point towards it because of the many scams he used to pull to make money (like the infamous MacBook incident). Jonny did make a comment about the song on his Instagram stating that he and the band are tight and he doesn’t think they’d make a song about him in this way but I disagree, there’s a good chance some of them still harbor negative feelings toward him. Especially after a lot of the stuff he put them through.
Tilians lyrics are 100% about ToM with possibly a shot or two at JC, Jon's lyrics are 100% about JC though. "Give me subastance give me something" lyric is a reference to the opening song from Empire Theory by ToM (Knowing That You've already Arrived), which i definitely recommend. I love Tilians vocals on that album he has some harsher, but still clean vocals if that makes sense. Definitely worth checking out imo if you wanna hear some more tilian. Edit: Honestly if Tilian and JC were to get into a fist fight i think I'd have to bet on Tilian, from some of his Insta posts he looks pretty built, plus JC is like 5' 8" and Tilian is like 6' 1-2" according to Google lol

The headliners were DGD with Kurt Travis and Emarosa with Jonny Craig and Tides of Man happened to be one of the openers. After kicking out Kurt and bringing Jonny back they went on their “final” album and tour, they ended up dropping Jonny from the band before the tour ended. They called Tilian to fill in because he knew a lot of their songs and he finished up their final few shows. They thought he was a good fit and decided to keep him as a permanent member.
