Razer doesn't look like a light piece of equipment by any means, but the force and ease it gets flipped 360 by chaos 2 shows how good that robot and flipper actually was.
Its a shame things went down hill for both Chaos 2 & Hypno disc, Razer was the only one still able to carry on just a bit further, without getting beat over & over, of course none of them came back in series 7 sadly. Chaos 2 just didn't have enough gas to keep flipping especially to self right, or armour like here where it was damaged like less than a minute after the battle started. Hypno disc just couldn't really rip other robots apart anymore, many new robots just had much stronger armour, they still did some damage but no way as much as in like series 3 & 4, soon kept getting deflected off, ganged up on & immobilised, but whilst their best days were kinda over they are still fantastic machines, always will be, & was great to see Razer make a come back in rebooted series, although not for long sadly.
There was a competition that never happened in RW. One of the eliminators was Razer V Hypno-Disc... They quit it because "It wouldn't be worth the damage".
George Francis was employed as part of the technical crew for the 7th wars, so wasn't allowed to have any involvement with any competing robots. He was also notoriously finicky about his robots, earning him the nickname "Precision George" among other roboteers, which might explain why the new robot he started building never entered the 7th wars with a different driver like Panic Attack did (Kim Davies was also part of the technical crew in the 7th wars) - that is, assuming he finished the new robot in time.
George Francis has also publicly stated that because of a long time in storage alot of parts have become rusty and unusable George stated that he currently doesn't have the money or resources to put Chaos 2 back into fighting condition. Saying that though if he could probably raise thousands via croud funder or other similar sites I would certainly contribute something.
Wow, if Chaos 2 is that big (when seen beside a human), Mr. Psycho (the house robot with the hammer) has got to be massive and heavy as hell. EDIT: Mr. Psycho is 1652 lbs.. That is nearly as heavy as a small car.
This was the ONLY chance to see Razer go out- when they can be double-teamed and one of their opponents is a spinner. Unfortunately, 13 Black is honestly pretty pathetic- Hypno-Disc they are not. They did some serious damage to Chaos 2's armour (no great achievement there) and tore off one of Razer's self-righters (the closest the battle came to Razer losing, if Chaos had flipped them on the side of the broken righter they would have gone out) but those discs just don't pack enough force and are WAY too flimsy- did you see when they came in for an attack on Razer's rear when Razer was preoccupied with puncturing Chaos 2? The disc lost force before they struck and simply STOPPED on Razer's armour! They could have ripped the world champions apart (Hypno-Disc, or possibly even Disc-o-Inferno would have) but instead they did nothing, Razer go through, and that's basically the end of the tournament. The floor flipper was a bit limp, wasn't it? Just lifted Chaos 2 up and dumped it on its top. Chaos 2 isn't even a heavy robot. The really sad part is that everyone was looking for a silver lining in Chaos 2's destruction in the hope that George Francis would have to build Chaos 3. That never happened.
+ArcaneAzmadi No, Hypno-Disc would likely not have cut through Razer's armour, especially in the state they were in come Series 6. Series 4, maybe, but Razer's armour got thicker by then. To defeat Razer, you really need a low spinning disc designed to take out the wheels.

You CANNOT hit Razer's wheels, for the same reason you can't flip them or ram them- because they always turn to face you, leaving you nothing to attack except the scoop and the crushing arm. The only way you'd be able to get a shot at the wheels would be if your disc managed to spin Razer around without also throwing the spinner away as well, letting you make a follow-up attack, but even that'd be unlikely, and a spinner powerful enough to throw Razer around like that would just be able to batter them to death anyway (I seriously think you overrate the thickness of Razer's armour; it almost never got tested anyway except in their fights with Pussycat, where Pussycat's blade was able to go through it without too much difficulty). I seriously think Hypno-Disc would have made mulch from Razer, and while the reason they never fought each other in the viewer's choice battle in Extreme 1 was supposedly because neither team wanted to risk damage to the robot, I strongly suspect that was rather more on Team Razer's part than Hypno-Disc's (since while Razer is damaging, it's not the kind of crippling, irreparable, "throw the whole robot out and start again with a new" damage that Hypno-Disc dished out).
ArcaneAzmadi NOT impossible, Pussycat managed. Also, still wrong, by Extreme 1, Razer's armour was greatly improved, and Hypno-Disc performed really poorly in Extreme 1. You're really REALLY over-rating it, and under-rating Razer. If it was Series 3 or 4, Hypno-Disc would easily win. If it was Series 6 or Extreme 2, Razer would easily win. Series 5 and Extreme 1, it would be a lot tougher, but by that stage, Razer was beginning to peak and Hypno-Disc was beginning to decline, so I'd more place my bets on Razer rather than Hypno-Disc.
HD improved their weapon, but little else. It was too hard to control and with all the new bots out there and upgraded vets, they didn't get a decent chance to ram anyone. The disk couldn't get up and running because everyone new what it was capable of. Given the chance, it is still the number 1 flywheel out there.
I found it fascinating that in series 3, Hypnodisc actually had a fair amount of pushing power along with the weapon; it was powerful by series 3 standards but only really destroyed its first 2 opponents. As the wars went on, the weapon became deadly, but at the cost of its pushing power.
it seems cruel to have put chaos 2 in with monsters like 13 black and evolved razer... its sad to think of the state of disrepair of chaos 2 nowadays :(
or rather i should say that as the disc's have a larger diameter so therefor the periphery of the flywheel is travailing faster than that of hypno-disc's
also consider how destructive hypno-disc was in series 3 and that there flywheel had improved twice by this series. so consider the fact that chaos 2 hadn't changed its armour since then it really emphasises how outclassed chaos 2 was in this fight

This fight is proof that Razer is as vulnerable to spinners as any other crusher. It's also proof that if you can't be bothered to keep up with modern tech, you can't expect to continue to win.
If Chaos 2's flipper had been working, Razer would have been flipped and unable to self-right. So Razer would have been out, and Firestorm would have fought someone else in the final, and won.
Now in the previous episode both the opening rounds were let down by two of boots ganging up on one of the others, less so with S3 but terrahurtz was incredibly blatant, but here 13 black makes it much more entertaining by going for both simultaneously. Unfortunately in doing so it meant Chaos 2 was too damaged to exploit the missing self righting arm on razor (any excuse to get rid of razor early) near the end. Oh well you can't win them all.

@u53u53uethj If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the producers were confident that Hypno-Disc would make it through (against a robot it has beaten previously and Mr-Unreliable himself in Spawn Again), thus allowing for a Hypno-Disc vs 13 Black fight, and then ultimately Hypno-Disc vs Razer. Such is the unpredictability of Robot Wars, though....
George Francis should've prepared a much modified Chaos "3" model long before Series 5 i think. Chao 2's performances up to this point were becoming too consistent.
Temo Herbert It wasn't very good early on, i think the later version may have done well at battlebots as a control bot. That being said Warhead is far more fitting for battlebots competition.
Who had the brilliant idea to put Chaos 2 into a melee with Razer and 13 Black ? At this point they're just asking for- oh right, to create more drama and all that. And of course, Razer added even more improvements, althrough I'm not sure if the wheels are actually good for the skid steering system. 13Black's discs look less... aerodynamic ? the sides, which are supposed to hit the enemy, look more like big chunks than sharp blades. You can see how George Francis was trying to get Razer out of the way and driving carefully around it, unfortunately 13Black got into the way many times. If it wasn't for them, Razer's self righter wouldn't have gone out. Kinda wish that Chaos2 was able to flip them on that side, not much was left until it would've happened. I kinda want to blame the 13Black team for this one, they were walking in and thinking that they could easily handle both of those bots, instead of focusing more on the actual threat. Not wanting to encourage teaming up against another robot, but if you were in 13Black's point, you would have to either refight Chaos2, a flipper which isn't that strong anymore and has shown to easily take damage from the discs, or Razer, unbeaten and probably strong enough to not take much damage from the discs. Who would you either want to fight ? Of course Razer has to add insult to injury, slowly damaging the back of Chaos2. And what's up with 13 Black ? getting close but not actually attacking until the discs stop ? Everyone hoping for a new, Chaos3, wish they knew more about George Francis' situation/why he couldn't properly upgrade his robot and all that. Althrough I can say that I'm very happy that he fixed Chaos2 and still has it working up to that date. Robot went through a lot of damage to get here.

It could probably beat the glitchy Spawn Again and may have a shot at Hypno-Disc and S3, but it would be sketchy- the former can self right this time and the latter is a hard shape to chuck out. Plus Chaos 2 would have to deal with the other robot in the melee. Dominator 2 and Terrorhurtz could go to town on the polycarbonate armour (D2 already has), Tornado, Bigger Brother and Dantomkia have already beaten it, and Firestorm has vastly improved from last time, having a lot more flips than Chaos 2 for one thing.

i remeber when typoon 2 was destroyed internally by another robot called megabyte (megabyte destroyed the internal circuitery of typhoon 2, meanwhile the hit was so strong that the batery of the motion of megabyte disconected)
Obvious Bicycle Chaos 2 had proven before it then it struggled with overhead weaponry. If it had faced dominator 2 in the semis in series 4 it would of gone. But hey we'll never know

but firestorm had big changes made back then his flipper wasen't that strong till when firestorm 3 came out 1 and 2 was not that good well 2 was, but you get the idea
GLITCHGOD2427 as I said, I was just being facetious. You can't really compare front hinged and rear hinged flippers on even terms - the reason why firestorm could flip mr psycho is because mr psycho was off-balance due having reversed up on top of firestorm's wedge awkwardly, and the flipper opened in the right direction to take advantage of the precarious balance. Chaos 2's flipper was technically more powerful than firestorms in that it generated a significant amount more upward force, but it was held back by problematic weight distribution, a limited CO2 supply, and a relatively light weight once the weight limit was increased from 80kg to 100kg.
No offense to George Francis, but I think Chaos 2's fate here was his own fault. All he had to do was charge at 13 Black, flip it over before it could get its discs up to speed, leave it on its back, THEN go after Razer.
That's true, and I hope someone had words with them for not noticing that. But Chaos 2 still could have charged in and quickly turned 13 Black over. And even if that didn't work, it would've been more worthy of trying than attacking Razer (a machine that can self-right unlike 13 Black).
Hypno-Disc should've been in the fight with Chaos 2 & Razer. It's the fight everyone wanted to see.

no that is simply not true the disc's are wider so they spin faster than hypno-discs.

i remeber when typoon 2 was destroyed internally by another robot called megabyte (megabyte destroyed the internal circuitery of typhoon 2, meanwhile the hit was so strong that the batery of the motion of megabyte disconected)
It should have been Chaos 3 by the time the weight limit was increased to 100 KG. That's when Chaos 2 started going downhill IMO...

Chaos 2 used to be seemingly unbeatable... until Bigger Brother got him in series 5. It went downhill from there, me inks.
Obvious Bicycle Chaos 2 had proven before it then it struggled with overhead weaponry. If it had faced dominator 2 in the semis in series 4 it would of gone. But hey we'll never know

but firestorm had big changes made back then his flipper wasen't that strong till when firestorm 3 came out 1 and 2 was not that good well 2 was, but you get the idea

You can't really compare front hinged and rear hinged flippers on even terms - the reason why firestorm could flip mr psycho is because mr psycho was off-balance due having reversed up on top of firestorm's wedge awkwardly, and the flipper opened in the right direction to take advantage of the precarious balance.
Chaos 2's flipper was technically more powerful than firestorms in that it generated a significant amount more upward force, but it was held back by problematic weight distribution, a limited CO2 supply, and a relatively light weight once the weight limit was increased from 80kg to 100kg.

No offense to George Francis, but I think Chaos 2's fate here was his own fault. All he had to do was charge at 13 Black, flip it over before it could get its discs up to speed, leave it on its back, THEN go after Razer.
13 Black started their weapon before the match started, it wasn't anyone's fault but the producers for not disqualifing 13 Black.
That's true, and I hope someone had words with them for not noticing that. But Chaos 2 still could have charged in and quickly turned 13 Black over. And even if that didn't work, it would've been more worthy of trying than attacking Razer (a machine that can self-right unlike 13 Black).
