@@karenkingartThat’s good, because mustangs are such awesome horse breeds in the North American west and keep up the good work. Also have you ever heard of South Dakota’s famous wild horse sanctuary in black hills? The mustangs are also great and you should sometime in the future film them!
Hi Karen! I'm a new follower -- found you today -- and subscribing. Now in my 70's, I've owned Arabians, Morgans, and Saddlebreds -- never owned a Thoroughbred -- but love watching the Kentucky Derby and the races at Saratoga each year...(on TV, of course --- lol). The beauty of horses fills my heart. I mean -- is there anything better for the soul than a gorgeous horse? As I watched two of your videos today, I noticed that the heads on many of these WHOA horses are somewhat refined -- and that their conformation (i.e., round and compact bodies) seems a bit similar to that of Morgan horses. They're really pretty!!!! Recently, I watched an auction of Mustangs on another channel, and their body type seemed distinctly different from these WHOA guys. Is there a connection between WHOA horses and the Mustang? I'm curious, and so I'm wondering if you could take a moment to explain the difference. Best regards from a newcomer.
Thank you for joining as a new subscriber and thank you for watching! I've noticed a difference between the wild horse herds across North America from the ponies of Sabal Island to the wild horses of Oregon. There are curly horses in Wyoming along with grulla and paints. The word Mustang means "without a home", so they can all be called Mustang. Most wild horses of the west date back to the Spanish Conquistadores and the horses that escaped and later some of those were captured by the American Indians. Most wild horses are 14hh to 14.3hh. I've seen leaner and also stockier horses. Whatever people call them, whether wild or feral, they have become a very hardy breed with tough hooves and resistant to many of the diseases of the modern domestic horse. Survival of the fittest. I also owned many Arabian horses in my life and am now horrified by the way people have bred some to have long legs like the Thoroughbred and then they call them champions. The wild Mustangs are tough and beautiful, not some skinny, mangy horse portrayed by those who want to eradicate them because they think they have no monetary value. I'll continue to celebrate the wild horses and their right to live free. Welcome to my channel!
And the battle of the 2 seasoned warriors Talequah & RB continues goodness Running Bear doesn’t give up he’s nothing if not tenacious I’ll give him that though we all know if The Icon (Thor)was around he would’ve shut him down with as little as a look & pinned ears Talequah relied on him so much. Theya is a beauty(she’s Thors half sister correct?) I always look forward to your Saturday videos Karen the MP wild ones fill my soul I HATE that so many were taken from everything they knew and love thanks to greedy ranchers and the BLM bending to their will 🤯😡I am thankful for the humans in private homes and sanctuaries like Skydog who were willing to give them a soft landing & thank you for giving them a voice this way too.🐎🖤🤍
Yes, Shannon, you are so right about Thor. He never would have allowed Running Bear to horn in on the mares. Like you, I'm so devastated by all the horses taken in the roundup this past spring of 2024. So many of my favorites were taken, plus it leaves the herd with under 150 horses which isn't good for the genetics of the remaining horses. I'll continue to keep celebrating the ones we have and fighting foe their freedoms.
Hi Karen thank you for share another wonderful post on these beautiful horses, I was devastated to receive a petition to sign against the decision to round up 5000 wild horses , apparently they want the land for housing and agricultural businesses is this true? If it is how is it being handled, how can we help in England ❤
Oi Karen boa tarde tudo bem? eu gostaria de saber , onde fica esse lugar com esses animais maravilhosos ? Se for posivel transmita a resposta pra mim em português, porque eu não sei inglês por favor, abraços.
What amazing video of the gorgeous horses. I always enjoy watching their activities👍You sure seem to attract them❗️
I spend a lot of time with them when I can make the trip out west to see them.
They were more aggressive today ! Great documentation ! Thank you Karen !♥️🐎🐎🐎
Yes, every day is different with the wild horses. I never know what to expect!
