Update on "Fix"
Maybe it will hepl in the future → try to check in RS settings under "System" → "Legacy" → "Material proccesing mode" → shold be "Staking" (not "Single (legacy))

Thank you for the video! I was just wondering how you turned the Shader Graph back on in 2023? I hate the Node Editor C4D 2023 forces up on you. And I couldn't find a setting to turn it off in the Prefences of Cinema.

i am on c4d 2024 and cannot find opacity color.
Hey so my decals are not staying in place when using a cloth simulator. It only works when I am using UVW Projection instead of Flat but the problem is when it is UVW I cannot transform the decals. Any Help??
Hey did you try the +pin material tag or you can set UVW coordinates. Have you sorted this out already?
Is there a way to do this and retain the original colors of the sticker? This works well for single color decals, but not sure how to do this with multiple color decals. Thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial! btw may i ask, does material stacking only work with RS standard material? I tried using the same method with Redshift Material however when i added the layer to be stacked the entire object turns red (error in material output)

@@StepanHKA Thank you so much! I have tried troubleshooting with some help and it was because in the 1st material there was displacement enabled. So at the moment material stacking does not work with displacement, at least for me.
Second that. No displacements allowed. Ridiculous. How hard can something like that be to fix at their end. F*^#!ing Redshift.
In fact, it’s not even just that. In RS settings >Advanced > Legacy there are two settings at the bottom. One of them is “stacked” or “Single”. That’s the culprit, but if you use stacked (which is what you get by creating a new Render Setting), then it all goes red again and you get an illegal texture warning in the IPR. If you choose “single” then that’s what you get - either the base material or the decal. I think if all you’re doing is putting graffiti on a plastic cube, it might work, but taking a megascan decal of staining to put on a concrete wall and you’re screwed.

i have another stacking concept that I cant seem to work out in RS C4d... Let's say I have a plane. I have one texture that is an ASPHALT textures on a giant plane. To cover the plane it is TILED.. Now I want the giant square ASHPALT plane to have an alpha channel so it fades out with a big circular gradient across the entire shape/plane.. if I apply the circle grad in the opacity of the ASPHALT TEXTURE it will TILE with the ASPHALT texture. If I stack it it will just make a large faded out grey circle gradient over the tiled ASPHALT TEXTURE.. How do I make the ALPHA(circle gradient) of the grey circle affect the texture below it?

@@StepanHKA thanks I think I got it tile the asphalt in the shader graph and not on the tag!REMAP... love how all the renderers have their own jargon for tiling..corona for transparency is FRACTION...LOL wtf?!?!

For UV unwrapping is great to follow channels like Polygon Pen I am very bad at this 😄😁😁 for AOV I will put on my list for suuure

Little issue here : idk why but I can't keep my png transparency. I tried everthing (splitter, sprite, material blender...) but the sticker has always a black square...

seems like material stacking have limit? I can only stack 6 materials before it give me error.
That's correct
So if you need more I recommend some materials can be more complex a have multiple layers within one material this way you can add more complexity
When I render a image sequence the texture flickers on and off.
Can confirm, Material Stacking does not work with animation at all
I havent tried to render animation with stacked materials thanks for flagging this
@@StepanHKA yeah you can test it just quickly animate the object the material is stacking on to move and you can check in the Renderview, the flicker shows up there for me also

@@Cookofmotion so far no, I’ve tried all sorts of stuff (like a triplanar makes it stick but then repeats it adds a bunch of whole new problems). Been on with Maxon support for over a month and they don’t know either.
I hate this material stacking. And I know we can turn it off, but sometimes I am working in a production and someone already did the approved concepts using it on….It’s a nightmare to control the colour of transparent shaders when you have more than one on the same object even if you use selection it keeps affect the other faces. I believe c4d is the only software adopting this. It could be handy in some situations, but I still prefer controlling using material blender and layers+masks to have more controle e to be have the shaders more readable and translatable to different softwares. Maybe I am doing something very wrong. Thanks for the video anyway !
