That is super scary to have that copper fellow right there. If you get a huge slab, try land-O-lakes garlic and herb butter with three big table spoons in a small glass ovenware.

Name him Elvis. He's got a strut like Elvis. And if you want a good way of keeping the scales from the fish from making a mess put the cleaning board in a 5 gallon bucket, that way the mess all stays in the bucket. Love your RUclips videos.

Give the fish a slice along the body (slices vary depending on size of fish)so the meat can cook faster without burning it. I’m Vietnamese from southeast tx that’s we do our fish. Instead of frying you can smoke them while just like that. I smoke red fish all the time and it’s baller

You should have OSG use fish heads and carcasses to make homemade fish stock for a stew.
Watch a couple of Aussie sailing channels and they largely live of the sea for proteins. They've found that if you roast a whole fish over the fire and then peel the skin off, the flesh is perfect. (Back2basics is the channel that really started this trend, and she's a fish biologist!)

Butter has a low smoke point, might want to start out with a neutral oil with a higher smoke point when pan frying your crappie. Add cold butter at the end and baste it. You’re butter was burnt.
I was cleaning up a dry rotted water hose a few years back and almost pick up a dang copperhead thinking it was a piece of hose. Those suckers have the best camo in the wild

next time you decide to cook one whole, use a tablespoon to scale it. its a lot cleaner and faster that way. start at the tail and pull toward head and the scales just roll up in the spoon.

If you will place old rags in a zip lock bag and pour Amonia into the bags to saturate the rags, the snakes won't come near. Snakes hate the smell of amonia.
Trust me. It works.
Do not seal the bags. Leave open so they can smell it. Add more Amonia periodically.
Or put out rat poison they wouldn't be there if their food ain't there

@@TheJoeyandrade that rod looked sweet. They are always working on new stuff. It’s probably a prototype that the Googans are testing out before fine tuning it. At least I hope so I can’t wait to find out more about it.

When I was a kid I used to live in Tennessee and my next door neighbor ms Mildred would cook fish for me that I caught. She would use a regular metal spoon to scale the fish and it worked like a charm

Hey LFG, just wanted to point out a little trick you should try with crappie. Almost treat em like a trout, bleed em if possible, and be sure to remove that blood line on the upper back. Takes all that game flavor out of white fish. It’s awesome

The rooster should be name tex. With the saddle on his back it make me think cowboys and we all know they come from Texas. I had a rooster recently that looked similar and we named him tex. Easy to remember and ea a y for the kids to say. Also their is a way to cook and eat that crappie whole like that but theirs an easy way to pull all the bones out to make eating easier. And FYI Lea e the tail on if u fry it whole. The tail is just like a chip

At any rate, I used to know a really great guy that guided on Lake Fork out of the minnow bucket marina. Sometimes his wife would join him down there and they would stay for weeks at a time, really good people 👍

If you want a quicker and easier way to scale fish try using a cordless drill with an old mixer tool. Works like a charm with minimal effort

copperheads always run in pairs. The other one is very neat by. We would always leave the first dead copperhead alone overnight so the second one would be laying beside it the next morning. like KOGOF
