Tip to catch ballyhoo: use a sabiki rig with a light spoon as a sinker, and reel fast across the surface . You’ll fill up in no time if you have chum . Occasional pin fish, crevalle, and houndifsh too
I never have luck throwing live ballyhoo on the bottom either. Always results in sharks. I always freeline them or put them on a bobber to keep them on the top water column. Sometimes a shark will get them anyway but more likely than not it will be a barracuda or mackerel. Both of which are delicious.

Nice video! Maybe try to catch multiple ballyhoos and put them in a fish cage to stay alive. That will be more efficient and effective when they bite.
