Calling the Cardinals roster uninspiring is a hot take. Goldschmidt is still 2 year removed from an MVP season, Arenado is both and elite fielder and elite hitter on every metric outside of last year, Nolan Gorman could easily hit 40 bombs this year, Jordan Walker is bound to break out his sophomore year, and Tommy Edman is a high war player that gets overlooked due to the lack of pop. Crazy how everyone let one year diminish years of elite production from some of these guys..
Maybe I was a little harsh in saying that. I just think that the rotation is really capped in terms of upside, and their top hitters are only getting older. My opinion on them could completely change if Walker were to take that next step and Gorman flashes the same power he did last year. The cards are a little boring to me, not saying that they aren’t a solid squad still!
