In 1974 for several months my 4 year old self and sister listened to the LP soundtrack every night while going to sleep! It wasn't until the 90's that we found out it was a film not just just an audio recording. Watching this on dvd was completely mind blowing, seeing what all those strange sound effects had been all that time lol . Needlessly to say we know the whole of the film's dialogue by heart, as do my parents and to this day we all still quote bits when the opportunity arises. Oh, and a few months ago I moved to Buxton. Aye, that's the name lad, Buxton!

The line 'my name is Buxton and I'm very very blue,' still gives me nightmares. But then I grew up in Buxton.

I saw it at the cinema as a kid, and boy was it scary. I also had the soundtrack LP. I've just watched it for the first time in years, and it brought it all back!

There's something of Tony Hancock in Eric Thompson's interpretation of Dougal.

I saw it first in 1971, at the cinema, with my then Girlfriend, who was at Teachers Training college, in BARNSLEY! 50 years later I have a Blue (Grey) cat, his name of course is Buxton!

Fenella Fielding was eerie as the Blue Voice, she did scare me when I was a little boy when she lost her shit after Buxton failed in his mission of making everything Blue...
It's wonderful to have a proper copy of this classic on DVD at last!

This is my soundtrack record from when i was a kid. I never saw the movie, only listened to the record. This is how it's staying. Much more fun using your imagination for the pictures.

This was an excellent presentation , answered many of the questions I had . I was a Dougal fan back in the late 1970s as well as a great many bits included in "Pinwheel House" .

As kids my friends and I absolutely loved this movie! We found it hilarious and creepy at the same time, especially the cat sounds in the middle of the night. Work of genius! Still love watching it now with my daughter, who is also a fan. Love the fact that Marks cat was called Buxton 😆 Brilliant!!
