- Yet another thing checked off the bucket list.. In today's video courtesy of Columbus Scuba, we head out to the Gilboa Quarry located outside of Findlay Ohio. This 140 foot deep honey hole is nationally recognized and a place where divers can not only push their limits in the deep, but start from scratch over in the shallow section and learn the necessary skills to dive safely. This 14+ acre limestone quarry is now owned by the great people over at Columbus Scuba. I finally got to meet the man in charge and Andy was nice enough to give me a tour of the place as we put up some new signs. (MJ is a sign installer by trade). Andy’s vision for the quarry is much more than just a place to dive, but a retreat from average life that all shapes and sizes can enjoy. From a towering rock wall, to a sandy beach, food trucks, games and more, the future of Gilboa is something to be excited about. We also had a couple friends join us so in total it was Alexis, Jazz, Jeff and I that were hoping to become certified by the end of the weekend.

I absolutely love watching videos of exploring under water and I find it so fascinating. But I would never do it water scares the sh!t out of me.
I didn't realize how amazing your narration would be. Even though I was there with u I felt like I was seeing it for the first time. I like this style of video
Wow, a compliment from my Step Dad.. Thank you!
Let’s go I’ve been waiting for this
Come dive Paradise Spring and ride Croom/Ocala this winter with me.
“ be sure to adventure daily “ love that
I've been Diving for 35 years, all Muff. Ive always wanted to get Certified....Scuba of course. Killer footage.
My buddies friend used to own that place. Been there a couple times, pretty cool place.
Findlay Ohio ,Hometown of Ben Roethlisberger. Those trout attacked like piranha! What a cool place.
Lol. That bicycle kick. ;) good times
Hard to wheelie in scuba gear, but this was still a cool vid 😀
Those fish were nuts! I'd go crazy too if I was next to a snack like that as well ;)
Fuvk yeah bro my favorite video of yours so far without bikes....... damn I got to find a girl who's out going like that and wants to do new things never really had one that was outgoing like her got to do it.... that look like so much fun
Next time, Honda boat 300L baby......just kidding. First time I scuba dived was lake Geneva Wisconsin. That first few seconds was the only time I've experienced anything close to a panic attack. The next few times same thing first few seconds under. It's so unnatural to breath under water. Awesome video guys! Best diving I've done was Caribbean and Mexico. Hope you guys continue.
There we go! It's a great demonstration of human nature and natural reactions, you literally have to convince your brain that it's okay. We definitely plan on advancing and getting some more certs! Thanks for watching.
I love the fact that the instructors didn’t park everyone on their knees on the platform to practice their skills!!! Nicely done!!!
I would love this!
I did my cert dive there and really enjoyed it. The best part was swimming out over the edge of the shelf that goes down to 100+ feet. It was liberating and scary all together. A few years later a friend and I went back. I got to 60 foot and had a free flow. Sucked ended my diving for the weekend on the first dive.I also lost my camera and flashlight. That was about 25 years ago. That bus has really changed a lot!
This springs in Florida is pretty awesome. Devil's Den, Ginnie Springs, and Blue Grotto are pretty cool. Bonaire is a awesome place to visit. We just dove Bonnie Terrie mines this past weekend. Have fun be safe. Divers down!!
Yeah they are! I have been to Ginnie and a couple others. Will definitely be bringing a tank next time. Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed!
Gorgeous vid man 👍.
Thank you brother!!
My kind of diving? I like to dive in to an awesome dinner at a country style restaurant!
Us too!
Very cool.
This is my favorite quarry I helped put the new school bus in there last year
Very cool!
Great video beautiful shots under water what a neat place
Thats really cool, my dad used to scuba dive all the time, i never have, for one the gear is not cheap
I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it enough to want to do it again but I'm hooked! Still cheaper than motorcycles haha but like everything you can go down the rabbit hole.
@@AdventureDaily lol that's no lie, I rc, kayak fish, duelsport bike, camp.... still wonder how I can manage to do all that....
ALL of the specialty courses ... ;)
Lex is a cutie.
Congrats on the experience! I got my basic and advanced open water certification, thinking about getting a few specialties here pretty soon. You guys will be hooked after this! Great content. Thanks
Thank you Patrick! I definitely want to take the advanced course ASAP and could see myself cave diving someday..
I'm doing my open water cert tomorrow at Gilboa. Thank your for the video. I think knowing what the lake is like is taking some of the anxiety away. I know I will have a good time and I will be safe because of the, as you said, wealth of knowledge around us. Thanks again for a great video.
how did it go? are you enjoying diving?
When you mentioned "ears needing pressurized", I think that you meant to say "equalized".
I received a bloody ear thanks to a sunfish (bluegill) at the Circleville Twin Quarries near Circleville, Ohio.
I live near the gilboa quarry
Is this located in Putnam county ohio
ok who asked
Some experience
Looks like a sweet time! Buddy of mine owns a quarry that is about 10 miles away from me, I'd say it's 2.5x the size of Gilboa but only 80ft deep. They still have old mining shacks and equipment down in the depths, it's wild! I've never done SCUBA since I can't see without my dumbass glasses, but it looks like it would be a blast! I'm trying to talk my buddy into doing something like Gilboa, but man, it's a LOT of work to get something like that setup.
I'd love to dive it! He should talk to Andy about it but I think it would be a great idea💵
@@AdventureDaily Dude, this is crazy, my friend that owns the quarry is named Andy too! LOL! It's meant to be!!!! Yeah, I'll have to work on him about it...
Readers lenses you can install in your mask are cheap and easy.
@@mattjarmont9835 I've got REALLY bad vision, near sighted. I'd need some kind of prescription for sure.
3 finger tight 🤟
Never been scuba diving….been muff diving for years now though. Looks fun might have to try this.
That is a damn good time as well! Might be a bit fishy underwater.
Looks like a PADI course. Last course I took I had 4 tanks. Love diving ship wrecks.
Get nitrox and deep diver. Then take her to Bonaire. Water is upper 70’s to mid 80’s with 200 feet visibility.
Steam engine 18’ deep. Came off bridge during flood. Only way to get to it is a path/ single track. Hint hint.
cave diving is scary
Padi instructors never change ... from OW to tec ... they mostly ALL will instill fear far more than instill confidence. Why is beyond me. Diving isn't half as dangerous as they want you to believe.
all that water will ruin your engine

Well I’ll get straight to the point: do you think you are a good person? You might have thought about it before, or you might have not. But your answer is probably yes. Now the rest of this might get personal, but remember, I can’t see-or hear you reading this, so don’t worry. Now let’s have a look at the Ten Commandments. You don’t have to believe in the Bible to take this quiz:
Have you ever stolen something? Yes no
Have you ever looked with lust? Yes no
Have you ever used the Lord/Jesus/Christ/God’s Name as a swear word? Yes no
Have you ever told a lie? Yes no
You probably answered Yes to, at least, two of those. There are six more. A bit of math would tell you that (10 divided by 2 =5) , out of the Ten Commandments, on average you probably answered Yes to five of them. Do you still think you are a good person? Now I’m doing this because I care about you. You could die at any moment. Your heart may stop right now. And I’d like to see all of you in Heaven. I don’t want you to go to…to...to...to…what was it again? Was it perhaps hell? We have all sinned. Nobody is perfect or worthy in God’s sight. In fact, the only way our sins could be forgiven, was if we offered sacrifices practically every day. We all sin every day. We look with lust, we lie, we blaspheme, we swear and we steal without giving it a second thought. Imagine all those sin and guilt offerings we would have to offer… but we don’t have to. Because God sent His one and only Son Jesus, to die for us on the cross as THE sin offering so that whoever BELIEVES in Him will be forgiven and have eternal life. He took all the sins that will ever be on Himself. He paid the price; i.e. He’s the Person who paid the fine for the stack of offences on the Judges(God’s) desk, so He could let you go. That is how great His Love and Mercy for you is. He has no reason to spare you, apart from His abounding Love and Mercy. You just have to accept His forgiveness, repent, get baptised and turn to Him. You have been warned. Do not reject Him.

Ps: your life-span on this earth is nothing compared to eternity. Just remember that. Is your soul safe…?
PPS: Let the Lord sanctify you. And read a Bible at least once a day, even if it’s just one chapter.

Let’s go I’ve been waiting for this
