  • I was ridiculously excited to fly the A320 with sharklets for the first time! My beautiful chariot arrived a few minutes late, but ended up pushing back just 10 minutes behind schedule. However, the crew were pretty delayed in performing their safety announcement and it wasn't over until the second before takeoff! I hope you enjoy the video guys :)

    It's amazing how detailed the announcements are on Lufthansa, all the carriers I fly, the announcements are very brief.

    Great video Dan, that was a smooth landing by the pilots! Can't wait to fly with the A320 sharklets again in future.

    Whole new profile for the 320 w sharklets. I'm still deciding, too, but the vid gives lots of good angles to check it out. 17k subs and counting. Sounds like a big channel to me.

    I like the sharklets, but when I saw the split scimitar winglets on Alaska's planes I was like "wow". Great video!

    I love the new A320 Sharklets. Their take-offs are amazing! I flew on Cebu Pacific's newest A320-200 Sharklets and boy it felt good! Pilots were very professional and kind too! They let me take pictures after landing! :D

    By the way, what are the short wire-like things on the wing tips?

    • @brendanfreed
      @brendanfreed 10 лет назад +1

      Hi! The little 'bits' off the trailing edge of the winglet, or Sharklet, are called static wicks. They discharge static electricity, to prevent harm to the ground crew via static electricity. The sudden discharge of static electricity can severely shock someone - just think when you go down a slide, then touch a metal bar. There you are!

    I can't explain but i like so much the PTU sound on the airbuses. What a long PA's , do the passengers really paid attention to them?

    • @EQuevs
      @EQuevs 10 лет назад

      What is PTU

    • @flygwada971
      @flygwada971 10 лет назад

      PTU means Power Transfert Unit it si the hydrolic système of the aircraft.you can hear it most of the time on all Narrow body Airbus family.

    Some people make ridiculous and stupid comments with no knowledge at all. Quite annoying. How on earth is an A320 with Sharklets ugly? What about an A320 with Sharkets looking like a B757? Whats your opinion dan?
    Awesome video by the way. Never disappointing.

    • @newyorkeranew
      @newyorkeranew 10 лет назад

      Still deciding on the A320, but the 757 is the most beautiful bird still flying, with or without winglets.

    • @HerobrineDoesMinecraft123
      @HerobrineDoesMinecraft123 9 лет назад

      newyorkeranew No offense, but I totally disagree. Boeing 757s look extremely weird in my opinion, but I think the Airbus A350 is the most beautiful aircraft so far.

      Yes, just you keep telling yourself that with your 6 videos and 40 subs, while he keeps producing great vids for his nearly 17,000 subs :)

  • @quadpumped34

    Airbus decided that sharklets > winglets? Why is that? Even the A380 has just winglets.
    EDIT: read on wikipedia, sharklets for new airbuses are more fuel efficient.

  • @german_spirit7545
    @german_spirit7545 10 лет назад

    I thought they are winglets? Im quite confuesed now. So whats the difference between skarklets and winglets? :)

    • @german_spirit7545
      @german_spirit7545 10 лет назад

      ok thank you! :)
      So the difference of their look does not differentiate the name sharklet or winglet. Because Airbus first used these jagged wingends (=sharklet?) but now they are also using the bigger winglets like here the A320 in the video.

    • @jackmcloughlin7266
      @jackmcloughlin7266 10 лет назад +2

      This is an A320 CEO (current engine option) with sharklets. The NEO is still I believe in the process of being assembled, with flight testing coming later this year :)

    Why in the pushback have a sound what is that sound

    • @AglantziotisJunior
      @AglantziotisJunior 8 лет назад

      +aviation lovers its the PTU (power transfering unit) it transfers hydraulic pressure from one hydraulic system to the other during the start up of the two engines and this characteristic ''whining'' is heard.

    What are sharklets?

    • @michaeldouglas2243
      @michaeldouglas2243 10 лет назад

      Sharklets are wingtip devices that Airbus utilize on their A320 family(except A318). They're just like Boeing's Winglets but Airbus' Sharklets seem to be thinner in the width.
