The bad thing about GTA V as of today is the fact Rockstar doesn't allow you to stay in a solo/invite-only/friends session. They just leave the public session as default knowing the problem the game has and still bans players for defending themselves using mod menu for the protections against cheaters.

Always report on the Rockstar website not ingame. Take a screenshot, save it for later and change sessions. Don't waste game time on reports you can do some time later. Date and time will be in your screenshot file details so you don't have to remember anything. Works 100% because the website is not connected to the game so no mod menu can block it. Ever.

@@IncandescentNeon it's just how they designed the UI, also i think they still want to hide that the fact they use p2p. Prob because GTA Online shouldn't be a P2P game at all lmao
So they don't want to give buttons and call it "Host Game" or "Join Game" or "Find Lobby"
Altrough when matchmaking jobs, they do show who is HOST and who is just a regular client.
And in-game, stuff is created locally but have a network thing attached to them. But i suppose they only sync with others if they are close to you, if they leave the area then they get removed. Host of the lobby doesn't manage anything like AI or gameplay logic either i presume, mostly they just managed by whoever is near another player. Mission entities are managed by the mission script itself, which is mostly tight to the session host so to make things stay synced.
I'd assume GTA 6 would have dedicated servers for freeroam, and listen servers for missions taking place outside of freeroam.
So yeah everything is local in GTA "Online"

  • @YoyoHit
    @YoyoHit 5 месяцев назад +6

There is no point in reporting cheats since all mod menus today are capable of blocking report requests. Even worse, some cheaters can change their accounts names to the ones of some other players in the session which means that by reporting you can get players without modmenus banned. From my experience most mod menu users get a mod menu to protect themselves from other mod menu user and to have a better control on how they want to play the game. So your video is kind of useless...

1.- Any collectible unlock CAN'T ban you, on the other side collectible drops are mostly banneable, since you may have unlocked them and RP still count towards progression.
2.- Most menus have an option to block most of reports, so reporting is useless. (this in Stand's mod).
3.-Most modders just mod because is fun, I get the idea that hacking is bad and that you are practically a useless being, but playing the same thing for 11 years gets boring as hell. But in the other way it feels good to help low levels or kids asking for stuff.

Hi, I am a friendly/neutral modder/cheater and i can confirm that GTAV Online is just broken. Most modders are friendly/neutral modders and that they do not show that they are modders most of the time. They mind their business or help others by protecting them, gifting them cars (if they want) or do heists with them.
Griefer modders are just the worst. i dont know how they can have fun ruining peoples fun and ist sad that they have so much power. If they want they can follow you in every session (even solo sessions). Ofcourse there is the "leaking IP" thing and a thousand other secrurity risks when playing GTAVO.
I can remember the time period where even I didn't play becouse modders could BAN others with one click if they wanted to or BREAK your account with one click OR EXECUTE CODE ON YOUR PC JUST BECOUSE YOU WERE IN A LOBBY WITH THEM.
Bro, Mod menu makers added a function to "unbreak" your account if a modder broke it and that shows that even mod menu makers hate griefer modders.
Good Video dude, keep it up 👍

Thank you for the comprehensive comment.
I don't support cheating in GTA Online, but if you cheat and I don't know it, then I don't mind (if you know what I mean). If you use godmode when fighting NPCs (not players) or add money to your account and maybe even spawn vehicles for your use, then it's "ok." As soon as you rapidfire, teleport, godmode against players, or drive godmode car, I'm not playing in the same session as you. It's about the principle that playing with people who could steal my IP is generally just bad. I don't judge cheaters - I just don't want to play with them 😅
And about griefer modders ? Agreed 💯%
Griefer modders make my blood boil 🔥.

Does R* have some code that allows players to send a string to another player in which the receiver turns that into actual code, and the code can either do in-game stuff or system-stuff?
Also who can send packets to other players? Is it only the host (person running the game) or can any player send packets to each other? Or only if they are nearby? And didn't R* implement relay servers? Why can't they just implement some checks there before sending the packets to other player? Or why not add host-only options like kick player from current lobby (it doesn't really ban their SC account, just disconnects them from the current session and makes them search for a new one)
Like GTA 4 MP had some customization for lobbies altrough idk if lobby hosts could kick players in their games but it's would be reasonable for P2P games to have that, altrough GTA Online does follow the MMORPG route, in which i guess they wanted to "hide" the p2p aspect as best as they can, which is why they never reference they use P2P

    • @GD_Mambra
      @GD_Mambra 4 месяца назад +1

@@wedoalittletrolling723 I am not a pro when it comes to the technical stuff but I know:
      - R* Patched the exploit where modders could execute code on other people's PC's to do ingame (and outside the game) stuff.
      - I dont know how exactly but the basics are: everyone can send packets to everyone. Maybe it has to go through the host first but its possible. The players dont have to be nearby, they can be anywhere.
      - "And didn't R* implement relay servers?": They did. idk if the relays are just bad or the mod menus got better but most of the time the mod menus are still able to get your IP Adress, Rockstar ID, your general current location, and so on.
These relays (and the fact that rockstar made it so that some stuff has to go through rockstar servers now before going to other players) removed the ability to Spoof (fake) your name, rockstar id, and so on.
Why is that good? Before that, a modder could just fake their name and rockstar id so instead of them, Their name could be yours and when clicking on their porfile, yours would get opened. Identity theft and blame for modding on innocent players for short.
      - "Why can't they just implement some checks there before sending the packets to other player?": If they dont I think they just really dont care but if they do then they do it badly.
      - "Or why not add host-only options like kick player from current lobby": They kinda have. There are certain Kicks that you can only perform if you are the host or if the player who's beeing kicked is not the host. The Kicks that dont need the requirement for the modder to be the host work differently and/or use workarounds as good as they can.
"(it doesn't really ban their SC account, just disconnects them from the current session and makes them search for a new one)" they get sent into a solo lobby most of the time and kicking is not the "BAN others with one click if they wanted to or BREAK your account" I was referring to. There was a exploit (the same as the "execute code on other players PC" exploit) that allowed modders to for real Ban and/or Break your account so it was unusable.
I hope that I answered most of your questions. :D

There's not much point in even reporting them as the majority of mod menus block reports and even alert the modder of your attempt. I knew someone whose menu could crash your game on retaliation of reports. The most insidious thing was his menu could "save" players via their rockstar id, which would alert them of when your online and let them join your session through the mod menu, even private lobbys. He said it even displayed ips and if he was so inclined could follow players from session to session fucking with them or even booting them offline. The best thing to do unfortunately is leave the game and avoid instigating them. This was a "premium" menu that he paid for however, the majority of modder tend to use the free ones.

Only a small percentage of modders use anything but free menus like Yim or Kiddions. Yim has these features though! However, it falls short in protections - I could kick a yim menu user, and I would if they were being toxic. But yes, use a VPN when playing GTAO, and if you feel like it, a mod menu (free or paid) with everything disabled but the protections. Did you know that most menus, especially the premium ones, even fix many of R*'s bugs? The menu I use prevents getting stuck in the clouds, the game crashing due to 'render overload' (yes, r* made the game so it could crash from over-rendering) and getting randomly disconnected cause of network desyncing. It's kinda crazy - needing a mod menu to fix simple fatal bugs? There's a reason I and a lot of others use mod menu's and mostly don't interfere with others without permission.

Hopefully, YES. Some comments said that it's starting to make its way to consoles as well, but to be completely honest, I don't have console, so I don't really know 🫠

I very recently encountered a god mode cheater on xbox one x, he was going on a rampage in the server, and I shot him multiple times in a row with a heavy sniper mk2, once in the head, and his health did not budge.

Godmode players are luckily pretty harmless 🙏😄.
Just switch sessions, and you are safe🫡

Woah, you just opend my eyes, I've never seen a problem with cheaters in gtao before 🤯
To be serios, goddamn, everybody knows about this problem, nobody cares. If you dont want to meet with cheaters just create closed session and keep coping or... play on consoles lol.

Of course, everybody knows, and nobody cares, but I did this video to better UNDERSTAND the problem more than complain about it and cry to R☆.
Some people play closed sessions only (I did this as well in the past), so they don't know what cheaters are able to do and, therefore, may find this information useful or interesting 🫡❤️
