I have this type of scope on my workbench. They are amazing. Mine is plugin only. This one has a lot of upgrades that are nice. If I didn't already own one I would buy this.

I wouldn't read too much into macro shots of flashlight & the like finish machine work... other than looking/feeling 'ok', they have few critical tolerances, and are pounded out at mere seconds per unit on fast CNC machines. Under close examination, surface finishes & knurling will assuredly vary somewhat from batch to batch and/or even specimen to specimen.
Most 'better' flashlight bodies are garden variety, general purpose, cheap, easy to source, free machining 6061-T6 Aluminum... which is also probably the best material for the application.

Doc I wish you would have put your watch under it. Now that would have been interesting ( even so everything you showed was interesting.)

This is very cool!! I am visually impaired and things like this are game changers. I had something similar when I was in school about 25 years ago but it was a tank!! Now I use the magnifier app on my phone all the time.

I just got a $25 Amazon wifi telescope that links to your phone or tablet and it really helps me see how I’m doing when I’m trying to get my pocket knife as sharp as I can

Would love to see some knife edges, before and after sharpening under that bad boy.

Depends on what you need. If you are for example a stamp/coin collector it's great but if you need to do some work under the microscope like soldering it needs to focus and magnify from further away. That kind of workspace under a microscope is sadly very expensive...
