I’m glad I was always slicker than that when I pee’d in folks yard. I was really really good at it. No one, not even the dogs, knew I was talking to a man about some puppies in the front yard of a fancy city house! I grew up in the country so sneaking off to the side of a house makes me think the wild hogs might come get me. No sir. I just pee in people’s front yard. One trick when I had to pee bad is I’d run back to a different car and prop myself up on it. That way if a car came by who didn’t like me peeing I was 1) not exposing myself 2)smiling like I was friendly but somewhat ashamed as I waved with my awkward hand and 3) not associated with the car they associated me with. I’m just really glad we didn’t have these high tech torches available 30 years ago. I like this program. I hope I don’t get kicked out for exposing my truth about needing to go when I need to go. There was this one time on the autopista in Italy, man I was glad I wasn’t driving an Italian car because the last thing I needed was for my car to not start. The cafe was shocked. I’ll stop there. They need more restrooms on tollways. Like in Texas.
Thanks for another great video brother. My biggest grip since the advent of all these types flashlights has been the controls and the hoops one must jump through to get to your desired setting. Just click 5 times while standing on one foot with your left eye closed and wow, look how great it is. Anything that can make it simple and return to the high setting is a welcome addition. To be honest, most of the time you need it to be all it can be when you turn it on, not have to cycle the switch. Do you like the "hold it down" feature better than the press for each power level? I have some Surefire and Fenix that I actually enjoy using because of it turning on in the turbo mode. I can always cycle down but in a SHTF situation time is of the essence. Thanks again brother.
Yeah... second that. Would it kill them to add a bunch of buttons to make it easier? Having a few buttons for 10%, 100%, 50% and perhaps some +/- buttons for more exact controls would be perfect. Perhaps some advanced features by holding the buttons, but at the very least a single click for what you're looking for 90% of the time would be so useful
Hi, Doc. I'm searching through your light reviews. I need a semi-tactical light with significant output and a manageable size. Nothing like a coke can, though. Not looking for lumens, rather for high candela. Considering a Streamlight HL3 with 36K candela at 1100 lumens, 1200 candela at 30 lumens. Very impressed with the performance of their smaller 1L-1AA. Had to dial up my Fenix to 1200 lumens to almost match the latter's 350 lumen output. Brings us back to candela. If you have a suggestion, or two, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks for the light reviews. In search and rescue, we often use lights for night searching continuously for 6-8 hours at a time. Have you seen any modern high output lights that would fit that use? I used the 6V lantern style, 3 D-cell mag lights, and 6 AA petzl headlamps.
Have you ever touched any of countycomm’s flashlights? Their more powerful gear doesn’t have self chargers, you have to cycle the battery yourself, but their thrower boasts impressive specs. I use their TriFlood for attic and crawlspace inspections, where a thrower just aint that useful, but this thing pushes some serious lumens.
I would never own thrunite the center of the beam is empty on low when it's used the most. I own Klarus and Acebeam both are bump in the night. One is 4000 lumen the other is 5000 lumen my edc is the klarus because it's a tactical flashlight with a duel button tail cap. It's the same light carried by the Hong Kong police
I've said it before; I'll be _truly impressed_ when a single AA pocket light hits the market thats capable of producing 2,700 lumens for 10 continuous hours... while remaining cool to the touch.
@S2 turbine Ha, I grew up with, & remember incandescents well! Scout camp c.early 60's for one; everyone running around with their >1lb 2 'D' cell green angle head (or chrome plated) monsters... _almost_ bright as a jar of fireflies. It was all leaky Carbon-Zinc batteries in the day as well... IIRC Alkalines didn't appear till the late 60's early 70's. Yes, your right, todays lights are amazingly impressive, and rapidly improving!
I have that prior version (the V6 SST70) and wholeheartedly concur. Excellent flashlight!
I do like Thrunite products and own a couple of their flashlights.
