  • Quakers have had an interesting relationship with the British monarchy, especially with kings called Charles. I look at the history of this relationship in light of the coronation of Charles III and the loyal address given by Quakers as a 'privileged body' (who knew?!)

"listen" is an anagram of the word "silent"
    Interesting Video.

I dislike the term ‘privilege’ as that implies UNprivilege.
Our Testimony of Equality, in my opinion, would express a distaste for an us/them distinction between people.
I do feel that as a Society which eschews titles such as Mr/Dr/Ms etc, it is distasteful to use the term ‘Royal Highness’.
I certainly do not feel that the monarchy is a system under which I want to live.

I remember hearing way back that he did consider not calling himself King Charles. Possibly King George
