  • Digital cameras are much smaller and make far less noise than film cameras. They allow award-winning underwater filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall (Deep Sea 3D, Under the Sea 3D) and Jonathan Bird (Ancient Caves) to get up close and personal with wildlife and capture animal behaviors that otherwise would have gone unseen.
Narrated by Joelle Carter (Justified), "Secrets of the Sea" dives deep beneath the ocean’s surface for a look at the astonishing ways different marine species interact with each other and their environment. From the smallest krill to the largest whales, ocean ecosystems depend on biodiversity and a surprising level of animal cooperation. Featuring incredible underwater cinematography filmed in 16 locations all over the world-from the Philippines and Indonesia to Mexico, Tahiti, Tonga and the Galapagos Islands-and a powerful score by composer Alan Williams, "Secrets of the Sea" is sure to thrill audiences in both dome and 3D formats as it reveals the many wonders and mysteries of our ocean world.

I'm a big fan of IMAX documentaries, especially from MacGillivray Freeman Films. I'm aware of the challenges of filming with an IMAX camera and this is a GIANT step forward for IMAX filmmakers! By the way, 'Under the sea 3D' is my most impressive 3D blu-ray.
