This looks awesome! Can't wait to see some videos on the larger cube. I am definitely going to build this to play with some friends when we have a Pokemon pocket tournament in a couple weeks!
I hope to, but I wasn’t able to purchase as much Twilight as I did with Shadows and have virtually no cards outside of the cube with which to build the decks 😅
The predetermination of evolution lines is something I like, but I think it could be a deal breaker if you want to play with people that are not used to card games, the picture is a good way to prevent bad memory or cheating, but all of this seems to me like a jagged line in a perfect streamline flux (I'm not criticising it, I love design and these kind of projects make me want to understand it more). I bet you already play tested this cube with a free for all evolution, is it too broken? Anyway I really love this project and can't wait to print everything to test it out! I'm already buyng cheap pokemon tcg coins and thinking about a box to 3d print 🤩 As for probable modifications I will do, real energy cards that a player adds to a separated 10-20 cards deck (20 are probably too many for a match, but I'll test), that you shuffle at the start of the game, to discover the first one every turn (if you don't use it, you put it at the bottom of the energy deck). I'll do this to make a box as compact as possible, even if the beads looks coler on the cards ahah
Dude thanks for the thoughtful comment! To answer your question directly, free for all evolution has not seemed too broken. Pre-fixing the evolution trees kind of irons out all the kinks. There are some very strong lines you can build, and that’s part of the fun, but both players are chasing the same goal in that pursuit so it feels pretty fair. I had initially tried to restrict off-color evolution with various means but it always clunked up gameplay. Players are incentivized to keep lines 1-2 colors anyways so they can use attacks at each stage, but in a pinch you can jam any pokemon in your basically be a “textless” placeholder for the evolution. Like, think of how bad the Greninja line would be if Forgadier was just an 80 hp stage 1 with no attack. Energy cards can totally work, but be wary of how you draw them. I found that a coinflip chance every turn hurt 2 color decks too much and basically ruined gameplay in this format. The draw 2, use 1 approach turns the coinflip into 75% and games feel much smoother, without allowing 3-4 type decks to feel free. Taken together, the energy system and pre-fixed evolution keep the game feeing like pocket but with extra flexibility and exploration allowed. But my approach certainly isn’t the only option. Form follows function and I’ve designed this cube to be drafted in a very specific way. A different draft method could allow for an even tighter package (60 cards?) but that would come at the cost of reduced variability in gameplay.

Awesome! I’d love to hear how it goes!
I was thinking about doing this my self. Nice job great to see
Brother! Thanks 🙏
This is so relaxing to watch. Love the dedication and effort level you put into this, thanks a lot
@@FobRegi appreciate it my dude!
This is way better in my opinion. Pokemon Pocket IRL.
@@marco_onlineyt535 thanks!
Thank you!
This is super slick!!
Thanks for the encouragement!
where do you find the high quality images to print for the cards? i am very interested in doing this myself but im new to printing cards
I use the deckbuilding feature from Limitless TCG. It’s really clean and easy.
Not Pokemon related but are you still making the SWU starter decks? I was really enjoying the series
