Reporter: hello what’s your name? Honey badger: my official name is honey badger, aka the badass Reporter: what you do for living? Honey badger: I just wake up and fight everyone
You can tell how smart they are by letting the scorpion sting them and letting the porcupine get away. Nothing is worth the quills. And it looks like a lot of bigger predators would just rather not take the badger on. They are just a bad animal. Was fun to watch. Great video
That got messed up - sorry about that!! Can you imagine an 8,000lb Grizzly? That's an approx size comparison to a 400lb H.B. That'd B just as crazy to have running around out there!!
@@seancostello4158 Some animals are just too unique to be compared. Honey badgers won't stand on 2 legs the way a bear would, and there's no defense in the world like a honey badger. It has a unique rubbery skin that is tough enough to resist bites from lions and hyenas but functions like a mink coat. The honey badger can squirm inside their own loose thick skin to scratch or bite whoever is holding on to it.
Taxonomic FYI: They are all a part of the Family Mustelidae. Honey badges are in their own separate SubFamily (Mellivorini), but are closer related (slightly) to wolverines (SubFamily Guloninae) than they are with American badgers (Subfamily Taxidiinae) or EurAsian badgers (Subfamily Melinae).
fun fact, honey badgers arent badgers at all. They are more closely related to weasels, and they are the only existing species in their subgroup, which is a mustelid subfamily
I live on the east slope of the rockies I can't believe there are other animals as nuts as a wolverine. Wolverines are bigger than a honey badger but I think nature was wise to keep them far apart
wolverines are bigger and stronger than the honey badger but the honey badger has more stamina and can go on and on and on. if they faced off, either the wolverine would kill the honey badger fast, or if the honey badger managed to keep the wolverine from getting a killing blow the vowarine would eventually tire out and back off.
@@Ghoulza Wolverines and honey badgers are cousins. Wolverines are built more for ferociously attacking while honey badgers are better built for defending and counterattacking. I doubt neither one can easily kill the other. More likely, they will get the picture that it's not worth fighting each other all day.
@@Ghoulza There has been no measurable data supporting which of these Mustelidae has the stamina advantage over the other. Both are top tier. There is a lot of evidence showing which is the superior predator. The wolverine by far. The only exception is the superior venom resistance of a honey badger allows it to go after deadly snakes without concern. Any theoretical confrontation between the two would most likely be the Wolverine (Wolv) initiating and eventually abandoning the attack. It would poke test the honey badger (HB) for a while before deciding there are much easier things to kill. If it was a theoretical forced arena fight to the death, I do not think the HB is able to maneuver itself to bite off the wolverine's genitals (its only chance for victory). Unlike a Lion, the Wolv is built too close to the ground. The HB cannot lunge underneath to attack its groin or other vital areas. This would be an incredibly tough and long lasting fight but the wolverine should be the victor 9.5 /10 times.
@@dunringill1747 thoughts to ponder but well thought out and articulated. I'm impressed. I disagree but it's all theoretical so nothing that can really be used to prove one point vs another. But still a usefully thought experiment.
All the critters in this with black and white striped faces were either Eurasian or American badgers, not honey badgers. Specifically, the ones hunting rabbits were Eurasian badgers. The ones with the snake and fox were American.
Like most viewers comment, the honey badger is very smart and fearless. But if you notice, the honey badger observes the prey first, looks for the weakness and then capitalize on it.
Second most fearless & aggressive (after the wolverine) is more accurate. Wolverines aggressively attack apex predators while honey badgers aggressively defend against apex predators. Guinness Book of World Records has a big business narrative to list the facts wrong.
11:59 The honey badger is just let out of the nut house with extreme caution. Where do you get the comments from? That’s a great line in an awesome video.
What a lot of people fail to realise is that the honey badgers fearlessness is also it's biggest downfall. They have no fear and that leads them to taking on lions, leopards, hyenas etc. Lots of the time the bigger predators will back off cause they don't want to be injured especially solo animals like leopards cause if they are injured and can't hunt they will starve BUT sometimes they do fight back leading to the honey badgers doom. They may have balls the size of boulders but the truth is they can't beat a lion or leopard and there's a lot of videos on RUclips showing lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, crocs killing the badgers. If the badger just knew when to back down it would be better off cause there is no way a little badger can beat a 400lb lion
true.... thing is they are damn smart and smart enough to know what they can and can't fight, they are just too damn stubborn for their own good. like you said a lot of time the bigger animals will back off because it's just not worth the effort, it's not their natural prey and the risk vs rewards or just to great a risk. but if they really want to they can and will kill the honey badger, but the honey badger will make them work for it and they will be hurt in the process. added to that the honey badger is not ammune to snake venom and bee stings, it can be killed by them it is highly resistant. but snames and bee have killed them. honey badgers have been seen stung to death by bee while it's still sitting there trying ot eat the honey.
The only thing worse than a Honey Badger is 2 Honey Badgers or one Wolverine. They will fight any other animal on earth at any time any place for any reason or no reason. Nature doesn't really do "crazy". So those little fuckers just really like to fight and all the other animals know it. They could absolutely kill them but they know its no where near worth it. I mean if you had to full on fight your food everytime you wanted it you would just eat something else also. To do otherwise would actually make you the "crazy" one.😎
Remember, Honey Badgers don’t give a shit! God thought, “You know, the world needs an animal that acts just like a grenade with the pin pulled!” Walla, I give you the Honey Badger.
I find myself more and more enjoying nature and it's animals vs watching what they call "Reality TV" now 😠😠. Honey badgers are Bosses. Reminds me of myself. Don't care what your size I'm going to show you how nuts I can be. ❤️It.

Best comment ever! Ah!!! That's the best Dexter's definition of Honey Badger!!!!😂😂😂
Badgers aren't psycho but totally fearless and incredibly smart.
"Badgers aren't psycho" yes there, u cant eat everyone
Ur lying
Yes they are. Part of the reason why they are so intimidating is because they do things that no other animal would do like psycho things
This is the best comment I have read about honey badgers. The courage and intelligence. Spot on.
In the eyes of a honey badger, anything that moves is edible
Yeah until they run across a leopard
Dude that's actually the perfect subject for the next video man! Let's see who wins I'm with you probably the leopard but you never know
@@davidsteinberg2120 I think I remember something about an old Leopard killing a Ratel. Think it took 2hrs or something like that.
Until they meet Chinese,
Isn't this the same in China? Everything that moves or moved is food.
Lions and Hyenas are bad ass until a Honey Badger shows up.
There's nothing irrational about a honey badger.
They are just unfazed by anything
Honey B is the street THUGGZ of the animal kingdom. Smart, cute, n got that G THANG walk. My very favorite animal.😂😂
Really well narrated. Great humour. Love the honey badger.
Badgers are like ants of the mammal world. They stand up and single mindedly fight to the death. Awesome animal.
Repeated venomous bites from snakes build their immunity to the point a cobra bite doesn't even kill them. Impressive
I’m watching this thinking. “Why isn’t there a superhero created with the remarkable bravery of a honeybadger?”
Because it’s not bravery. It’s insanity.
Read the honey badger series by Shelly Laurenston
they're boring and bizarre. they hobble around mostly eating reptiles and bugs and rodents.

Wolverines would work just as well to control the python situation in Florida.
Don't forget about the turtle.
How smart they are dealing with turtles hiding in its shell. attempt to get the turtle out by shoving sand in its face
Honey badgers are incredible animals. Their gait is adorable.
Honey badgers are my favorite!

Honey badger is more badass than Rambo.😅
