5 Things you MUST DO before Moving Abroad - 2023 A Year in Review

2023 was my MOVE ABROAD year! And a lot happened within these 12 months.
#MovingAbroad is not just a large undertaking, it is life-changing. 2023 was a GREAT year, but it was not without its challenges. Learn how I navigated traveling abroad with delayed flights, lost luggage, broken luggage AND a Broken Arm!!! Here is the Big Question: What must YOU do in preparation for your MOVE ABROAD?
Once you have settled on your new Home destination, here are 5 things you MUST DO before taking the Big Leap!
* Take a FINAL Scouting trip to your potential home country
* Make preparation to leave your previous home in the US. (It’s more than closing the door and heading to the airport)
* Put your personal business in order. (Mail, Banking, etc.)
* Ensure you have your Source of Income, Budget and Emergency Fund established.
* Prepare your mind for the differences and challenges your new Home WILL bring. (We are leaving for #adventure, right?)

She discusses being an ExPat, a Slow Traveler and just “bopping around” AND the expenses incurred with each method. When I was in Europe this year, it was a total “bop around” trip which was the most expensive way to travel. I intentionally had not secured long term housing in Mexico at that point, so the cost of my travel accommodations came out of my monthly housing budget. It did NOT cover all those expenses but it significantly reduced them.
