    I have the MFJ-873 which is the same type of meter however for 2 and 70cm band. Very satisfied with it. Not the best in accuracy but super for my hamradio needs at a fair price.Tks for the video.

    Thanks for the demo. I have some other MFJ equipment that I used a long time ago for my SW receiver, they make decent equipment most of it affordable.

    I have the 874 (1.8-525 mhz). It helped me get my quad band Comet tuned nicely. I was thinking it was UHF/VHF, but after looking at it again I realize I can tune anything I have with it. Still want an analyzer.
    Now if I could avoid whackin em on trees and breakin em.

    How do we read the watts on the meter?

  • @vegasfordguy
    @vegasfordguy 3 года назад +2

    It's a good meter except it doesn't read true PEP numbers. With an amplifier that does 2000 watts on a bird peak reading meter, this MFJ only shows 1400 PEP. I have two I purchased brand new, they both read extremely low PEP numbers and between the two meters there is a 50 watt difference. It's good to let you know your equipment is working, but not accurate by any means.

    Do I have to do SWR SET every time I adjust my antenna? If I switch to another antenna, do I need to do SWR SET again?
