Plan b is the stuff. Look up diligent defense zilch. It is the most compact plan b compatible adapter i could find, on top of that, it's one of the cheapest and made out of titanium.
@@mrs.vasquezz In fact I am using zilch along with wolfpack's flash hider and I love that combo. From what I saw in the video zilch is deeper, it completely covers the wrench flats, while wolfpack covers about a half. Both are great depending on the build.
Love Plan B ecosystem. Revival Defense has a new epic 3 prong that is actually a good flash hider instead of the dinky, useless rearden 3 prong. Glad I swapped that.
I think a good word for this situation that describes the oppose of neutrally-timed when it comes to muzzle devices would be directionally-timed or specifically-timed.
I just switched from ASR to Rearden / Plan B like a month ago. It is SO much lighter. Especially with the titanium adapter. I have the Atlas on my main suppressor but I'm thinking about picking up the Revival Defense titanium adapter for my other can. It's a little lower profile and has slots to use a castle nut wrench to tighten it down. I have a few Rearden muzzle devices but my favorite is the 3P15 from revival defense. It's a 2 inch three prong and it's awesome. They also make an A2 style muzzle device that's compatible with it
Good video. Have a bunch of Q and Rearden stuff. A few notes: uncoated golden color maintains better tolerances than PVD. That may or may not matter to your use case. The point about using a thread protector if you are going to bash things around is valid. As to the Cherry Bomb - it was designed to be extremely light, with at 1.6 oz, it is. As opposed to most muzzle devices for cans, which are around 4 oz. This (weight savings) is also why they didn’t put wrench flats on it, which if you don’t use a tapered muzzle, can be an issue with the mount getting stuck in the can. I have never had that problem because I put enough Rocksett on it. Hint hint. Having said all that, I prefer the Rearden R2 for carbines/SBRs. The CB I use on SPR and bolt guns.
I'm new to being a suppressor owner, and the one can I have came with an Atlas and a SPB from Rearden. So far it's worked very well, the can gets moved between 3 rifles. One has the SPB the other two the short 3 prong flash hider from Rearden. Has always gone on easy and stayed in place through transport and firing. Plan B seems to be a very reasonably priced system too, which makes it nice to outfit multiple rifles for suppressor mobility.
I bought a few Xeno muzzle devices because it's tapered / left hand thread. But it looks like Plan B has sort of been anointed as the taper mounting system of the people? You go over several companies in the video, and here's one more: Forward Controls Design. They make a A2-style closed-bottom flash hider for Xeno, but looks like they have started making the same thing for the Plan B system as well now. And it looks like Forward Controls Design loves working with a company called Revival Defense, which is another company that makes Plan B compatible mounts. So yeah at least for me it seems like Plan B has more support than other taper systems such as Xeno or sRx etc.
I put the Rearden R2C on most of my rifles. It's an A2 flash hider (the greatest muzzle device ever created) with suppressor mount threads, which is exactly what I wanted in a muzzle device. The Q cherry bomb is fun, but only if you want the largest possible muzzle blast from your rifle. If that's the case, boy does it deliver.
The LP pin and weld is actually really useful for specific builds. On my 14.5, I needed the length of a longer muzzle device to get past SBR, however, I have DA cans that require shallow muzzle length (sacrificial baffle) when running a rearden atlas . I could have solved this issue by putting the rearden xl on my can, but I wanted the slim version to get the shortest overall length when I run it on other guns - especially my SBR. The LP pin and weld is EXACTLY what I needed!
I've had a TAPS for about a year, and I do recommend it. The only objective problem is ALL the weight is forward so unless you have a full body it will spill forward. I just duct taped a USGI hydration bladder pack to the back and it balanced it out just fine.
TAPS is designed to be used as part of a system including hydration pack and plate carrier. The ability to use it as a standalone system is a secondary capability. That being said, if you adjust it properly (and don't add anything on the front) it's not too bad. I run 7 AR magazines, an IFAK 2 on the far left, and a radio pouch and tourniquet pouch on the far right, and it's as comfortable as you could expect from a secondary LBV.
Im just here to rep Xeno mounts, and mention Griffin Camlok for pistols. Xeno is designed to not be timed and theyre reverse thread so removing the can wont lossen the muzzle device or mount. Never had one stick but i do keep a 1-1/8 wrench in my bag just for removing a hot suppressor.

Also just got a polonium k. My first can. I have two rearden flash hiders for my ARs so that I can swap the can between them. I still need to get a thread protector though good point.
I've converted a bunch of gun for my Saker 556 to Rearden Atlas over ASR. You don't save as many ounces as you might think, but it does shave a few. It also shortens the can on the Saker. I have a Velos I picked up today (6 day stamp) that I might convert also. I have some of the ASR A2 muzzle devices and I like them over the other choices, especially when you have the can off.
I switched to rearden from the YHM system, I was only into YHM for 1 flash hider and the mount, glad I did. The rearden is a lot lighter and more low profile and the wolfpack armory flash hider was pretty cheap and fits well.
@@kylematthes1646sRx system is 10/10 and not sure what Hop is foaming at the mouth about, but it does everything Plan B does. Lol Stays tight when you want it to, comes off easily when you want it to, and threads stay clean…there’s really nothing else to ask for in a suppressor mount.
Installed a Rearden single baffle brake on my 1894 lever gun in 44mag and had it pinned/welded to 16". Running it with a TiRant 45S can with a Plan B adapter - this combination NEEDS to be torqued together correctly or it will loosen due to a slight design oversight by Q... but that's another story. To put things in perspective, within 100 rounds of some blazing-hot handloads, the following had loosened - every single receiver screw, the takedown screw, the front sight screws, the mag tube stud (dovetailed to barrel), the mag tube stud screw, the handguard tip tenon (dovetailed and STAKED to barrel), and the handguard itself, which ended up wobbling 1" side-to-side due to the loose tip tenon. The only thing that didn't shoot itself loose was the Plan B adapter to the Rearden brake. Good shit.
The heat treated finish matches my rex silentium perfectly. Surprised a value + affordable oriented person like yourself hasn't reviewed them yet. They even have a flow through can.
I was waiting for a set of reviews on suppressor mounts and am glad you provided a couple: one not so good and one very positive. I am not confident in my Plan B purchase.
My first can was a thunderchicken, my second was a yhm turbo and I wanted to run the same muzzle device, by switching to the plan b it cut almost 2" off the overall length and made it significantly lighter. I now have 8 cans on plan b and rearden atlas and about 18 rifles that are mount with cherry bombs and rearden flash hider. It's by far my favorite system, it's small and light and never had anything back off on me or carbon locked. Also get a whistle tip to put over the brake. The cherry bomb is awful as a muzzle device but awesome as a supressor mount, I started switching to rearden flash hider.
Can't speak to your OSS/HuxWrx cans, but neither of mine get locked onto the gun to the point I need to use a wrench. When they were new it happened one or two times, but since then they haven't. Several thousand rounds between an 556ti and 762ti. I do wipe off the tapered portion of the mount and suppressor with a paper towel whenever I remove it after shooting. I also think it's important to get it fairly tight when you first install it to eliminate any gap in the tapered portion and prevent carbon buildup.
I feel like Xeno is objectively better seeing as its functionality-wise the same as the Raerden except you can't accidentally unthread your muzzle device due to carbon locking. I think its a shame that it never caught on
This is the route I'd recommend if you don't go native key-mo or a straight barrel to suppressor direct thread. I like the fact that i don't have to mess with locking collars or risk adapters detaching. That said, if I'm going HUB-mount compatible, it's plan b style for the low profile look.
Damn Hop, thanks for solving the hatred I have for my factory Saker 5.56 mount. Is it the Charlie bullshit? I don't know. Nobody cares anyway. It's the Reardon R2 for me! Thanks again man. Please keep cranking out the shill-free reviews. And if the R2 mount gets discontinued before I can order one, I am blaming you.
Hop, you should check out Griffins armament cans. I'm 100% positive they would send you some for review with the quick NFA waits now. They have made some stealth upgrades on their Dual-lok 5.
Pretty sure the muzzle devices from Wolf Pack Armory are made by Rearden. They have a separate adjoining machine shop next to their primary shop with a different LLC on the door here in the Dallas area. Also not a fan of the heat treat color on the Plan B or Atlas but the heat treat on the muzzle device looks kind of cool when the front half is covered in carbon and the back is clean.
Would be very surprised if that’s the case. Wolfpack has extremely shotty QC, have had 2 bad adapters from them, multiple bad parts received by friends. I gave up on them and just bought a rearden and haven’t looked back.
I've been using the Rearden atlas since 2022, maybe even 2021. I absolutely love the system. I replaced my former Dead air stuff with all Rearden. However, going forward, i'm going to go witht he Wolfpack version, because i love how low profile it is. I use a SPB anyways, so it doesn't matter for my clearance.
Very similar mount system to BK Precise suppressors from Poland. I've been using their DEAF45 cans for 2 years now, good stuff at reasonable prices. Best thing - no need to adjust the gas system.
Would love to see you do a video on the Griffin Armament GATE-LOK attachment system that are on their M4SD series of suppressors. They attach straight onto A2 flash hiders and people have had luck with them on pin and weld rifles with extended A2 flash hiders like BCM's A2X (provided they were installed properly with shims or at the very least weren't installed on overly crooked crush washers). It's a damn good system that saves you tons of money by not purchasing several hundred dollars' worth of proprietary mounts and hub adapters for every rifle you own.
I know this is wildly off-topic but I would be extremely interested to hear what Hop would have to say about attempting to mount a primary arms microprism in a pseudo-magnifier capacity or as an offset optic altogether. I have seen a few people running with a red dot primarily and utilizing either setup for the less frequent shots that might occur at long range, this is primarily coming from the competition shooting scene. It seems like a solid idea as the red dot is the primary optic and if ranging is needed the prism optic offers holds and ranging solutions on the fly, while retaining the red dot in a familiar and ergonomic position; particularly suited for use with NV. It seems like an interesting premise and even more feasible with the continuous shrinking of the prism-style optics.
I honestly find myself leaning towards the raw heat treated finish because it's simple and doesn't have a finish that can fail. Bare metal on metal for a taper is ideal and guarantees that a flaking finish won't lead to gas leakage and poor lockup.
I used to follow Andrew of ocl before ocl was even a thing. He posted funny gun memes. It's neat to see them grow to a point that I see them in RUclips videos
Couldn't agree more on these mounts. Zero complaints. The raw heat treated atlas is only good because they're a few bucks cheaper if you know you're going to spray paint it anyway (Krylon high heat paint rocks).
Living in PSA land (several of their retail stores within 20 minutes of my place)...the "red anodized junk on the AR" is a very common occurence. The amount of cringe-worthy AR builds I see people rockin' is...something.
Seems similar to the Dead Air Xeno but right hand threaded. I really like the Zeno for repeatability and the left hand threads ensure the can gets tighter with shooting.
I'm hoping the advent of non-suppressor Plan B muzzle accessories is drawing near. Thread protection is a big bonus but something like a cheap flash can should've been available already.
Uh oh, Hop talked good about something. Hurry up and buy it before it gets discontinued 😅

Stays tight when you want it to, comes off easily when you want it to, and threads stay clean…there’s really nothing else to ask for in a suppressor mount.
Thank you for explaining that so well
"Now THAT's what I call Music!"
Noticed the HAMR on one of your rifles.
Love the magnified part and dislike the Delta Point.
Great video.
The algorithm requires engagement
KGM has been doing this for a while. Same type of taper system. Works amazing - especially for impact consistency when swapping around guns.
I feel like Xeno is objectively better seeing as its functionality-wise the same as the Raerden except you can't accidentally unthread your muzzle device due to carbon locking. I think its a shame that it never caught on
Just correctly install your muzzle 🤷🏽♀️
This is the route I'd recommend if you don't go native key-mo or a straight barrel to suppressor direct thread. I like the fact that i don't have to mess with locking collars or risk adapters detaching.
That said, if I'm going HUB-mount compatible, it's plan b style for the low profile look.
I ordered the Xeno system. Similar but LH threads
I'm just here to support fellow Xeno users.
10:12 Now I am seriously hyped for another discontinued optics review
Nailed it on the comparison to red
Rearden is great stuff. I use a theirs exclusively for my few suppressors.
Griffin makes a PlanB and fits all of their 10-12ish different taper muzzle devices.
10:47 Hop confirms he can't handle it raw
Q makes awesome products. I wish other gun companies invested in engineering like they do
Q has thought up some interesting products but their actually assembly and engineering is not so good. Can't even assemble their own BCG's correctly.
@@RandyTheB_ yet other manufacturers use their designs over and over again
@@RandyTheB_wtf? That’s just untrue.
It’s not for looks
I've been using the Rearden atlas since 2022, maybe even 2021. I absolutely love the system. I replaced my former Dead air stuff with all Rearden. However, going forward, i'm going to go witht he Wolfpack version, because i love how low profile it is. I use a SPB anyways, so it doesn't matter for my clearance.
Very similar mount system to BK Precise suppressors from Poland. I've been using their DEAF45 cans for 2 years now, good stuff at reasonable prices. Best thing - no need to adjust the gas system.
Everyone hates on Q yet they do it the best and everyone copies em lol
Would love to see you do a video on the Griffin Armament GATE-LOK attachment system that are on their M4SD series of suppressors. They attach straight onto A2 flash hiders and people have had luck with them on pin and weld rifles with extended A2 flash hiders like BCM's A2X (provided they were installed properly with shims or at the very least weren't installed on overly crooked crush washers). It's a damn good system that saves you tons of money by not purchasing several hundred dollars' worth of proprietary mounts and hub adapters for every rifle you own.
Good stuff, Hop.
Dude your content is always so dam informative
Love my Rearden mounts
I'm a fan of 51tooth cans. Everyone of my rifles has that system with a break or blackout flash hiders and love them.
BALLER REVIEW HOP!!
Concerning your advert, woodland camo is still a good, valid camo pattern. It can't really go out of style
Rearden and Spooky gang checking in.
Any day a Hop video drops is a good day
I honestly find myself leaning towards the raw heat treated finish because it's simple and doesn't have a finish that can fail. Bare metal on metal for a taper is ideal and guarantees that a flaking finish won't lead to gas leakage and poor lockup.
so much positive to say. have you been paid for a review? great video
Yeah, the Rearden Plan B stuff is all I use now
“I now have a whole bunch of plan B” is an interesting flex
I went with Griffin Armament taper mount system to use with Recce 5 & 7. Just got their new Snch 2 charging handle. They make some nice products.
Forward controls design makes really good plan b stuff too, they make really good everything but everyone sleeps on them.
Living in PSA land (several of their retail stores within 20 minutes of my place)...the "red anodized junk on the AR" is a very common occurence. The amount of cringe-worthy AR builds I see people rockin' is...something.
Remember back in the form 1 days those 13/16/16 mounts work perfect
Have you tried the Dead Air Xeno? I like the Plan B system, but the Xeno is better IMO.
Why is it better?
lol I run both the heat treat and the nitride finish. My suppressor is HT soo it matches.
Hop is so excited I thought my video was sped up
Seems similar to the Dead Air Xeno but right hand threaded. I really like the Zeno for repeatability and the left hand threads ensure the can gets tighter with shooting.
It’s a myth that LH threads tighten while shooting
I'm hoping the advent of non-suppressor Plan B muzzle accessories is drawing near. Thread protection is a big bonus but something like a cheap flash can should've been available already.
