I’m normally not a fan of Sandstorm but I have to admit I was yelling for him this match. He’s playing blaster-scythe against a full meta Teros. Mad props for almost making the big comeback

Both parties played really well on the tournament with their respective characters especially sandstorm with the non heavy meta characters that actually need alot of experiences and read based one while StringRay out here playing really slowly with his meta heavy Teros that only need 4-7 hit to make u go to red and reset your stock and based from the video he doesn't even move much and only wait for sandstorm to make the moves and dodge mistakes. So is this the "smart" way of your tournament analysis or your biased opinion?

This match perfectly shows heavy weapon meta. Sandstorm is the only one actively engaging and has to do three times the work which heavy weapons do by standing still and waiting for any mistake to hit you with easy 40-60dmg. Feels like one player trying to break a brick wall with precise pokes with their fingertips.
I don't like the meta either but I think it's sandstorm's fault if he doesn't play what's good in the moment. Scythe is just ok at this point. Probably should have played onyx or koji, or even xull

I dont think it would be worth the time since in higher ranks people understand the movement of a player when they want to pause the game, and in lower ranks people would probably not pause and take advantage of it.

I don't think its a coincidence how much weapons like axe and hammer shined this tournament while katars, scythe and other light weapons didn't though.
I think as time goes hard, the more and more obsolete Scythe becomes because the reads people look for are obvious now. With Sandstorm, plolz, Lucien's Sword, Machette, and Boomie using scythe as much as they have, there's just way too much content on Scythe now. I mean sure, you can find ways to incorporate it, especially if you know people who haven't figured it out yet, but for the most part it's not as surprising as it used to be.
@@celestiatester5693 It's not just that, scythe got badly nerfed over a year ago, since then a lot of other weapons got buffed and scythe has been worst weapon ever since the nerf. The only reason scythe gets nerfed is because sandstorm single handedly carries the weapon. When Cannon is top tier, we see so many players playing it. Scythe has never seen a ton of play, because it's just bad.

SiyahSultan # that comes with trade offs. Just look at scarlet’s speed or tero’s dex or jhalas defense. All of those stats are neglected for high dmg so if you’re good at dodging or spacing fighting high dmg characters can be a good match up

I think its moreso a hatred of Teros as a character based on their own experience. Brawlhalla at this level is a completely different game. But if you’ve lost to sig spam over and over and over again. Well, that frustration will remain. Even if on a subconscious level.
This match in my opinion was great because they both played new characters we dont see them use in major tournament and enjoyed how both players played their legends

Regardless of skills weapons in this game is very unbalanced. String based weapons are just not working out because of having no kill option as well as getting punished for going hard reads. You only need a little hits here and there before you can just get them in kill percentage with almost ANY HITS from a heavy weapon. So even if Sandstorm is the best that doesn't make him invincible. Remember he is human regardless if he has the skills to back it up.

Most people assume sig because that’s what everyone does but I think that sting ray was move and combo spamming. I also think that sting ray was playing the meta, not approaching, punishing and playing heavy high defense characters

i'm a sandstorm fan, but damn stingray is playing super smart. stage control is his priority, playing safe knowing he is against sandstorm, that can adapt fast. he tried to make less unnecessary movements, and focus more on how sandstorm moves, that's why stingray punished sandstorm's jumps alot. fought stingray in ranked, just play passive, you'll have a chance to win lmao
I cant believe how blind most people are sting ray won fair and square. Axe does a lot of damage but it does not have many combos and its attacks are hard to hit.
Fun Fact: This 2020 set got more views in 2021 than all of Sting Ray's 2021 sets combined [including Pro Series and Community Tournaments]. Very interesting to me how many people rewatch these so long after they were uploaded

Oh my god, NO. You are straight up dead wrong. Scythe is insanely fast and smooth, has active input, and is one of the most well balanced weapons in game. Hammer is deliberately made be slower but stronger.

He likes playing characters that have good sigs that can often be weaved into combat. Most pros prefer characters with strong light attack kits, stingray has different priorities.
Yousef Ameed utilizing sigs where you can is almost always better than light attack spamming, he’s using mixed so really, neither player here is spamming. Both are using strings and sigs with the odd true combo for kill secure or damage. Using your sig kit != spamming

give credit where credit is due, sting ray won a set against sandstorm, a feat not many can achieve. some may argue that teros is a spam character or axe and hammer is the meta right now or sandstorm was js experimenting with a brawler. however, sandstorm is a player of great skill and arguing that sting Ray was spamming or is using teros is invalid because spamming would have easily sent sting ray to the lower bracket and sandstorm is good enough to know the counterplay. arguing that the axe and hammer is meta is also invalid, because sandstorm could have also easily won it had he used hammer and axe, if it truly was the meta. finally, saying that sandstorm was experimenting is true, but also an invalid argument because sandstorm is a really good player, able to play multiple legends with great success as seen in his fait, xull, lin fei, mordex and more. the fact that he was playing nix, which has the scythe (one of his main weapons which he had a lot of success with), it shouldn't be that sandstorm is playing badly because he was "experimenting". although I would agree that sandstorm is overall the better player and will win future games against stingray, we should at least learn to give respect to sting ray who was made a name for himself in the BH pro league

I think as time goes hard, the more and more obsolete Scythe becomes because the reads people look for are obvious now. With Sandstorm, plolz, Lucien's Sword, Machette, and Boomie using scythe as much as they have, there's just way too much content on Scythe now. I mean sure, you can find ways to incorporate it, especially if you know people who haven't figured it out yet, but for the most part it's not as surprising as it used to be.

The only reason scythe gets nerfed is because sandstorm single handedly carries the weapon. When Cannon is top tier, we see so many players playing it. Scythe has never seen a ton of play, because it's just bad.

Regardless of skills weapons in this game is very unbalanced. String based weapons are just not working out because of having no kill option as well as getting punished for going hard reads. You only need a little hits here and there before you can just get them in kill percentage with almost ANY HITS from a heavy weapon. So even if Sandstorm is the best that doesn't make him invincible. Remember he is human regardless if he has the skills to back it up.

i'm a sandstorm fan, but damn stingray is playing super smart. stage control is his priority, playing safe knowing he is against sandstorm, that can adapt fast. he tried to make less unnecessary movements, and focus more on how sandstorm moves, that's why stingray punished sandstorm's jumps alot.

give credit where credit is due, sting ray won a set against sandstorm, a feat not many can achieve. some may argue that teros is a spam character or axe and hammer is the meta right now or sandstorm was js experimenting with a brawler. however, sandstorm is a player of great skill and arguing that sting Ray was spamming or is using teros is invalid because spamming would have easily sent sting ray to the lower bracket and sandstorm is good enough to know the counterplay. arguing that the axe and hammer is meta is also invalid, because sandstorm could have also easily won it had he used hammer and axe, if it truly was the meta. finally, saying that sandstorm was experimenting is true, but also an invalid argument because sandstorm is a really good player, able to play multiple legends with great success as seen in his fait, xull, lin fei, mordex and more. the fact that he was playing nix, which has the scythe (one of his main weapons which he had a lot of success with), it shouldn't be that sandstorm is playing badly because he was "experimenting". although I would agree that sandstorm is overall the better player and will win future games against stingray, we should at least learn to give respect to sting ray who was made a name for himself in the BH pro league

I srsly find it immature to blame a lose on a character than your own personal skill, because you can use whatever you want, but if your trash, your never gonna see light of day unless you git gud. oh and BTW, axe and hammer may seem unbalanced but the reason they are like that because of the speed at which you can land hits, mind you, axe and hammer and incredibly slow compared to scythe and guns so, Idk wym by unbalanced
@@gdluacan Dude of course he's skilled. Stingray would destroy me in a match. But compared to pros be has much else skill and or relying heavily on spamming and unbalanced characters. Sandstorm is afar better player landing more shots just to get a fraction of damage as stingray. Even then sandstorm went toe to toe, if sandstorm had onyx he would've destroyed sting.
Brawlhalla devs need to fix the game. Scythe requires more work and gives less result and weapons like ace require less and give more. Balance this damn game.
@@ChadEricCartman I also want to clarify that in the set, sting ray used a an average of 6 sigs per game, which is 2 sigs per stock, you telling me that is spamming? to be very clear, spamming means repeated using the SAME ATTACK 3 or more times CONSECUTIVELY. not a single instance did sting ray spam in any of his games

Nota I know its me 😂 I only play ranked even when I feel like playing casual. So my elo goes up and down like a pogo. But my lvl 3 scarlet almost got me to plat in an afternoon when my combine lvls of 140+ on scythes still cant get me to plat. 😂
