- Finally got some gear for overnight hiking. This was shot in NC, in the Shinning Rock Wilderness on the Art Loeb Trail.

Also love the outdoors, but like the feeling of relative safety at nighttime in my metal cube🥴 Kudos for trying the tent experience.

I've done my share of tent camping. One thing I've noticed is those air mattresses get really cold. The air gets cold and it's like sleeping on ice. If I'm regular camping in a tent, I put memory foam then a good quilt over an air mattress. That's not feesable when hiking though. The other day in a different video, I saw a recommendation to make a more comfortable bed in the woods. You could bring a yoga mat and a garbage bag. (Or just the garbage bag with your sleeping bag.) Fill the garbage bag with leaves for a makeshift mattress, then put the mat on top. I've never tried this myself since I just heard about it. But it's better than the ground and maybe better than a cold air mattress.
Sorry I'm a bit late to the party. Missed the special Ian video music... glad it's still here. You keep on growing and taking good pictures... I liked the nighttime "head ray" photo. Is the minivan now gone? Take care and will try not to be late to the next premiere..
It's not gone yet, hahaha. I'm planning to go on one more trip in January before trying to sell it.

@@IanODonnell it’s about living your life fully, experiencing the things that complete you as a person, the rest is filler, a distraction! Don’t stop Ian, leave your country and get a real education in countries outside your comfort zone! Statically safer than where you live right now, just sayin.
