That. was. AWESOME!!! I can't believe you did that (and that they worked), you are insane! Those are the most glorious things I've ever seen. I've been a huge fan of yours (and a patron) for years and to see my models in one of your videos is so amazing (definitely a bucket list moment there)! Thanks for the shout out!
This is awesome! This is how 3d models that you have to assemble yourself should be printed. Props to the guy who designed these kits, he’s good, really good. I hope he’ll do a large-ish scale model of an ATAT or ATST :P That 3d printed Falcon looks to be roughly the same size as the original toy released back in the 70s.
What Rey pilots in The Force Awakens? THAT'S HAN AND CHEWIE'S SHIP! *Star Wars outrage mode disabled* Great video, will be printing these myself, big as I can on the E2 and Taz 6
Hey Joel, I have wanted to 3D an underwater camera case (as most of them usually cost over $1500) but I have no idea if someone has been able to do it, if it is even possible, and I haven't been able to find any information.
Joel, you are the man!! I got started watching your channel because of your giant prints. So HAPPY you're back to it again!!! My cheeks hurt from smiling at this. LOVE IT!! MORE MASSIVE PRINTS PLEASE!!
Joel, I'm not sure if this is really practical. But here is an idea there's another great Channel on RUclips from the guys at Flite Test, and they have made several different Star Wars craft that fly. I know weight might be a problem but you and flight test together with a similar sense of humor, and great skill levels might be interesting to make one of those fly!
I think they gave all that failed batch to him, because it would have been free publicity obtained from something that was going to be thrown away/ recycled, because you can clearly see, that even it being a failed filament batch, the quality is still amazing.
Make the biggest project of RUclips - print The Settlers of Catan on the $38,000 printer. It will be also space consuming, and unplayable, but extremely cool
That size gives a completely different perspective to watching the first layers go down! Ill be over in a few, just have to make sure this print starts.....hahahahaha
Have you done like a huge boat benchy yet? I have a qq-s that of course isn't that big but bigger than my ender 3 and geeetech a20m. So my new thing is just taking crazy models and scaling them up and printing. I made a standing groot like 12 inches tall or like 320mm. I just find it fun making these big things. I made a huge phil a mint also and a benchy boat.
Joel... I have a crazy idea . I think your the man for me that could point me in the right direction. I am a drummer that is playing an electronic kit. What I want to do is 3d print all the drum shells my problem is finding a printer big enough to do the bass drum. Size I’m looking for on the bass drum is 22 inches around and 6 to 8 inches deep. I would supply the filament. I think hi-fi blue would be cool. But I think I would need to do this in Pet-G. Because I play outdoors and has to be be able to support some tension from the head. So I was wondering if you knew anybody with a huge 3D printer that could handle something this big?
It’s like that scene from Space Force where Steve Carrels character accidentally launches a rocket because he got rid of the plan for a cover on the big red button
Just thought you might like to know, at 5:04 in un-freedom units you would use m not M. Capitalization is important in SI, M is for the multiplier 10^6 or Mega. So what you wrote looks odd. This could save you from crashing your spacecraft into Mars one day ;-)
HOLY... You know who loves star wars? It's Me. I didn't know I needed a 0.91m Tie Interceptor print until I saw it just now. My airbrush trigger finger itches at idea of painting one this size.
That. was. AWESOME!!! I can't believe you did that (and that they worked), you are insane! Those are the most glorious things I've ever seen. The famous fixumdude
Great Models @fixumdude! I know what I’ll be printing for stocking stuffers for Christmas this year!!!!
@@barracuda6817 LOL, you forgot to put "famous" in quotes. But you can bet I'm going to force everyone I know to watch this video at least once!
FIXUMDUDE!!!!! Hahahhaha. Legit, shoot me a note on Patreon, I would love to send one of these your way.
Michael Grugel That‘s actually epic 🚀👍 Well done!
Now I kind of want to see a really TINY resin one !
Do you think some of that music was familiar?
yes. SUPER TINY.
@@3DPrintingNerd Use the Kaika 0.1mm nozzle and make a mini one :O
15:00 Joel just called me awesome!
Thank you Joel!!
me too!
DANG IT, ODIN. YOU ARE AWESOME. I am going to pin this.
ODIN - crap, pinned THEN I saw the actual FIXUMDUDE left a comment so I kinda *had* to pin his. I hope you understand. I still love you.
Okaaaaaaayyyyyyy
Kind of sad that "Ikea Style" is a thing, when that layout is the way all plastic models have been molded for 50 years...
Screams "kit" or "airfix" to me.
GUNPLA!!!!
But ikea's been out for 70 years
@@TreyPenman but when did IKEA sell their products as a "sprue kit" form? Their furniture is "flat packed". Completely different.
hahaha. I knew it was the wrong thing to say, but we had just picked up some Ikea stuff not long ago and it was the first thing that came to mind.
I really want to see the big printer do a 3ft benchy
I want to see the Benchy , but as. Rc boat
Yes!
ALPHAMAGNUS OMGOMGOMG
Yesss RC benchyyy
YES! :) I want to see that as well :) huuuuge benchy ;) like biggest he can put on this huge 3d printer ;)
unassembled, that giant flat pack makes awesome nerdy wall art :)
That’s a genius idea!!
Kinda like what Bob at I Like To Make Stuff did: ruclips.net/video/fCckkcVDKK8/видео.html
YES. I held it up to my wall before taking it apart and, well, VERY YES.
I would pay to have one of each of these giant ones to hang it on my wall.
5:04 Meters is displayed as a lowecase m.
An upercase m means mega (Ex. MB -> Megabyte) or molar concentration
Slushee Yes, but it’s big meters, like American meters :-)
Joel, you should break the model apart in CAD, scale it up more, and print again.
The thingiverse model already has that in the files
I mean, that's not a bad idea. At all.
@@3DPrintingNerd Joel, another idea for later, scale up a version of the articulated prints. Shark, lizard, chameleon, lobster, octopus, ... PANGOLIN
That is totally insane - in a good way, of course!
Thanks Joel.
That's right, a Tie Fighter sounds like a high wookie :P.
hahahahahah
Haha! That was my thought!
What Rey pilots in The Force Awakens? THAT'S HAN AND CHEWIE'S SHIP!
*Star Wars outrage mode disabled*
Great video, will be printing these myself, big as I can on the E2 and Taz 6
Hey Joel, I have wanted to 3D an underwater camera case (as most of them usually cost over $1500) but I have no idea if someone has been able to do it, if it is even possible, and I haven't been able to find any information.
Watch EvanAndKatelyn’s underwater live stream video, they used an acrylic sheet to build the case and they go through how it was actually built
The reason I love this channel. $38,000 printer, and what gets printed on it? Really big Star Wars toys.
I love your intros so much I swear
@12:07 Safety first, kids!
Such a satisfying *click* as you snapped it together!!!
If you sold those I'm 100% sure customers would buy. These oversized "cheapo" models are a cool concept for gift.
You nailed the sound effect
May the force be with you always Joel Telling!
Im surprised the clips flex/work at that size! Very cool. Honestly Im with you that even the uncut part sheet looks pretty cool, like a movie poster
That is some cool wall art if just left on the card
Dude this video was awesome! 👏
Yo
Awww. One day I hope you can visit and see this big printer in person!
It's the joy in his face. Just so happy to have this awesome thing in his hands.
The TIE fighter sound Joel made at the end sounded like preteen Chewbacca as his voice was changing
@3dprintingnerd you definitely need to do a follow up on your latest experience with the CR 6 SE
You are now my new favorite person.
I love it that you really put in angus his music 🤣🤣
Not a bad impression of a tie interceptor
Joel, you are the man!! I got started watching your channel because of your giant prints. So HAPPY you're back to it again!!! My cheeks hurt from smiling at this. LOVE IT!! MORE MASSIVE PRINTS PLEASE!!

wow! all i need is a $38,000 printer and $150 in palstic!
The large machine needs an e-stop guard. Common in industry.
Let's be honest at £30 grand it should come with a butler
That tie interceptor flat would make a killer wall art piece
Joel's TIE Interceptor noise is really good! Also, was that the Maker'sMuse music in this video?
Yup!
that's why you need a cover for any important button / toggles
Wow. They actually scale!
Right? I was a bit worried but it worked out.
Hallo.
"space benchy" no more !!! It's more like - "now running out of space" benchy........ This was hilarious, and fantastic
downloaded immediately. perfect gift for nephews
Your joy at seeing the TIE Interceptor put together is awesome. Love your stuff, Joel. High Five! Any chance Fixumdude made an X-Wing too?
This is awesome beyond words! Simple to the point print yet so freakin cool!
Nice safety squint technique at 7:32 Joel. Textbook stuff.
AWESOME! now the $38000 printer makes sense :p
I think they gave all that failed batch to him, because it would have been free publicity obtained from something that was going to be thrown away/ recycled, because you can clearly see, that even it being a failed filament batch, the quality is still amazing.
Hi Joel. It looks like a child having a lot of fun with his Interceptor and Millennium Falcon! Big Big Interceptor and Millennium Falcon. Hi Five
When you pulled out the giant flat-print of it, I couldn't stop smiling. That was great
10:43
"Space Benchy!"
That made me realize - did you print out an ABSOLUTELY GIANT benchy on the workbench pro yet?
LOVE that blue color on the big one
this nice feeling when he stops yelling :-)
How about printing a custom PC tower case or a Lifesize R2D2..????
Lets do it:))))
lol. "SPACE BENCHY!!!!" that was funny..
Now I found a need for a large, very large printer.
That's cool, big prints are awesome
One of the most wholesome channels
What would be really cool is if you could put them on a string and whip them around all while making the same sound as the TIE Interceptor.
This show should be called CRAZY 3D Printing Nerd
Make the biggest project of RUclips - print The Settlers of Catan on the $38,000 printer.
It will be also space consuming, and unplayable, but extremely cool
Awesome vid. It would be cool if you add rgb strips to the falcon on the top and bottom plates. Being white it would be awesome showpiece.
Haha i also refer to IKEA flat packs when drsigning laser cut kits from metal. Sums it up nicely
You had me at Star Wars!
Wow!!!! I just saw you on Evening On channel 5 and I had to check you out!!! You are amazing dude!!! Thanks to you and your family!!!!!
Love that TIE Interceptor sound effect you made with your mouth.
The interceptor is the coolest of all the tie's.
that was a good tie engine impresion
Nice, there must be about a full spool of filament just "wasted" on the frame for the parts...
That size gives a completely different perspective to watching the first layers go down! Ill be over in a few, just have to make sure this print starts.....hahahahaha
You have outdone yourself this time Joel HIGH FIVE.....
Great Work Joel.They look great.
Love the giant X-wing! Really cool printed on the Prusa MINI that I have. I love it at 160%.
Have you done like a huge boat benchy yet? I have a qq-s that of course isn't that big but bigger than my ender 3 and geeetech a20m. That printed so well! Looks really clean. Hey what is the telling clip? Looks like Gordon Freeman, lol.
Aw. Should've taken advantage of the blue background to key in a starry background for that tie interceptor flyby in the intro.
Joel... I have a crazy idea . I think your the man for me that could point me in the right direction. I am a drummer that is playing an electronic kit. freakin awesome scale up :) and I will forever call the millenium falcon "space benchy" from now on, another awesome vid
I don’t even like Star Wars but hype joy at 8:30 is amazing :):):)
print a big benchy and sail it across a lake
That Tie is awesome, looks about 1:18 (aka star wars/gi joe) scale.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL. "no one is surprised".
Now we just need a life-sized Baby Yoda...
@1:54 lol, never second guess needing the utensils of death!
lol I loved the Tie Interceptor sound effects! lol
So cool, just imagine if you could scale the falcon to the same ratio as the interceptor!
XKCD: What if we added more lasers?
3DPN: What if we printed this bigger?
It’s like that scene from Space Force where Steve Carrels character accidentally launches a rocket because he got rid of the plan for a cover on the big red button
That needs some drone parts to make it really fly!
Wholly coolness! I'm a cheapster and would have trimmed out the sprues(?) to save time and filament
Just thought you might like to know, at 5:04 in un-freedom units you would use m not M. Capitalization is important in SI, M is for the multiplier 10^6 or Mega. So what you wrote looks odd. This could save you from crashing your spacecraft into Mars one day ;-)
Awesome video and wicked huge printer, and those prints!!! Wowsers!
Pretty soon you'll be needing to print a bigger house to store all the giant prints.
HOLY... You know who loves star wars? It's Me. I didn't know I needed a 0.91m Tie Interceptor print until I saw it just now. My airbrush trigger finger itches at idea of painting one this size.
Now separate all the parts in CAD and scale it up even more.
Joel gets his hands on a $38,000 printer and uses it to print giant tie fighters. 😂😂😂
THat is awesome! Model downloaded and I should have a 150% one in about 9 hours...
Can you try a (semi) life size benchy? I think that would be an awesome test for the giant build plate!
So awesome! With a machine that big you could probably print furniture from star wars.
Great video, I love Star Wars stuff.
Next you should separate the parts in meshmixer and print them much bigger. It would be awsome!
TOTALLY WICKED!!!!! Love Star Wars anything
3d print a shield or something, but make it bulletproof
Through away? Mr Tyler Mcnanny at Filabot can make those scraps back into filament.
As long as you have that big a printer, why not use it!! So awesome!
