    More data is generated than ever before, and data is processed at the edge, data centers and in the cloud. However, enterprise storage technology has stayed pretty much intact over the decades. For long, all this has been done using purpose-built black box appliances where hardware and software is designed to work seamlessly together and only together.
    Modern world needs modern solutions. Software-Defined Storage (SDS) decouples the body and the mind. Hardware becomes independent of software allowing for more flexibility, simplicity, choice and cost-efficiency.
    Join me when I explain what Software-Defined Storage (SDS) is and how could it benefit your business.

    Really enjoyed this video! Concise, but also personable, and provided precisely the overview I needed as a non-engineer working at a cloud computing startup. We use Ceph, so I'm about to check out your video in a moment :)
    Thanks!

    You explain ceph what about zfs. does it suitable for cloud?

    • @TechEnthusiastInc
      @TechEnthusiastInc  2 года назад

      There certainly are applications for ZFS with cloud, like backup. But ZFS was not designed for cloud so there are limitations to it, especially with regards to scalability and running containers.

      Hi, Zain! I'm afraid I don't have much to tell you about RDX storage since I don't have personal experience with it. But out of curiosity, what would you like to know about it?

      Think about on where the software runs and do not forget that computation extensive process can only work on dedicated hardware.

    Never, I repeat never, use commodity hardware for your storage. Get ECC!

      Can you elaborate why commodity hardware is bad for storage?
