Looks awesome, can't help but wonder if you will showcase the Shadowhawk? I've been messing around with one for space engineers and I can't help but fall in love with it ^^
Ok, I love that intro. It's short and kickass. I love how it's mostly common battlemechs. The stinger is often seen as trash, but there were so many produced that you could easily see crap tons of them on the battlefield. Extra awesome for the stinger getting a lucky shot on the hunchback.
I really like watching IS lesser factions fight in like low tonnage mechs since having multiple heavies or an atlas is expensive to get let alone maintain
One absolutely terrible mech I wish we saw more of is the GS-54. Easily modifiable to have an SRM 2 instead of Machine Guns for when the rioting becomes a revolt. This comes at the cost of the ejection seat but I mean, what pilot is gonna need that?
Well I remember when you could only load infernos in two packs, made this little one quite the monsters. With SHS and running hot being the normal those SRM-2 with infernos are a nasty surprise. And a killer of hot running mechs.
I keep finding these with HBS battletech's 3025 mod. If the Archer could have jumpjets, then this is a poor man's Archer, but as of the moment? I see it as a poor man's Catapult.
Love my Dervish in MWO. 8D I think it was? Basically turned it into a cross between the 7P and the 7D...thing absolutely punches at short to medium range. Still runs a tad hot even with a full tank of coolshot and as many heat skills as I could throw into it, but it's manageable enough and with the right tactics you usually have enough time to cool down between volleys...looses the jumpjets though.
This is a decent all-arounder in the tabletop game, assuming you're playing during the late Succession Wars. I like to run large groups of medium and light 'Mechs to overrun opponents, and the Dervish is usually my heaviest choice. It's mobile and it's got weapons for pretty much any range, but you really have to watch it's heat and avoid throwing it into battle next to your tougher mediums.
@@swankypants9366 Yeah, those often get called the trinity of some sort, in part because they’re all from Fang of the Sun: Dougram and had that distinct look. They’ve got their flaws, but they all have more armor than this guy so I think they’re easier to use. I have a lot of trouble with the Dervish unless it’s against lighter opponents. Any tips?
Listen, I wasn't even sure about that trilogy until you confirmed it. Although, you do have a bunch of lasers on jump jets. If somebody tries to close in to get out of range of your LRMs, you could get in their rear arc and let loose on those mediums. Definetly taxing on heat, but rear armor damage is rear armor damage.
Did you come up with the anecdote (3:10) about melee with weapon arms being questionable and commanders assuming that the Dervish has hands. Or was that part of the published lore or an observation made in the wider fanbase. Great work as always with mechs huddling into cover and otherwise being expressive.
@@FarseerAnimation It was from the 2nd grey death legion book. A militia commander ordered the Dervish pilot to pull a Phoenix Hawk out of a rut it got stuck in.
Had a lot of help on this one, so a special thanks to everyone who lent their voices to the intro!
awesome vid! 8) 👍

Was a pleasure to voice the lines of the Dervish pilot, boss!
God I love the Dervish SRM spamming
Btw fun fact, the dancing in groups in a circle is also called "dabke" (دبكي) unless you were refrencing something else

Low tonnage/ obsolete and budget mechs are just so much cooler to me

@@MediaevalJames as if the ejection seats wouldnt be pried out already for whatever low budget army or paramilitary plans on using them
"The OG Catapult"
Great video as always and an impressive intro!
These animations would make a sick mobile game😳
Awesome stuff guys😎👍
Loved this mech in MW5. It has no rot whatsoever.

Phenomenal intro, great video as always
That's such awesome video intro. I'd love see movie or a video game. Its nice graphics. Thank you for continuing the series!
Great work, once again!
oH MY GO- !!!!! Absolutely EPIC !!!!!!!!! Thanks Farseer for this early Christmas present ..........

If this is the description of the Dervish as a "Poor Man Archer", I feel sorry for the Whitworth if you ever cover it.

I understood it as "derpish".
Funniest thing I've heard.
The forgotten 55 tonner, honestly it's probably better than the holy trinity 55 ton mechs.
Griffon/Wolverine/Shadow Hawk?

That was actually a moment in one of the books. I believe it was one of the Kerensky Trilogy entries
@@FarseerAnimation Really cool when re-world thinking turns up in an imagined setting

As always, fantastic! Love you Farseer!
Nice video. Really like this channel.
Wouldn't 2520 be early star league or Late Terran Hegemony?
I'm just imagining the dervish trying to pick something up with both its arms XD
Do you want missiles firing accidentally?
Cause that's how you get missiles firing accidentally.
Atlas II NEXT :D
It's from MechAssault like the Raptor II.
You should do a mechlab on the bloodasp assault mech
Very well done my friend. Very well done!
aw ye a new mechlab
I dont know what this is, but it looks cool!
Hey, no reason a janitor can't do mech things too... Except for training, certification, and maybe credibility.
these are so good
The best mech
What program do you use to create these? Is it blender?
I used Lightwave for this but I'd definitely recommend anyone who wants to get into this stuff use Blender.
@@FarseerAnimation that's awesome. Maybe one day you could do a little documentary on how your process.
@@Zaph501 I've been considering it for a while, so that may happen soon-ish
Joder me da corage xq el universo de batletech solo está en inglés y no en español
Nice rack on this mech.
Dry rot is something mechs can get? For real?
Certainly, given their age. The wiring, seats, sealing, etc are far more vulnerable than the big metal parts.
Dry rot affects wood, and I can't recall any mechs, even in the deep periphery, that are made from wood
Dervish? funny...She doesn't look Dervish...
Can we get a calliope video?
We do have one! ruclips.net/video/KrS8uwNlzIc/видео.html
