I agree, being a student of life science and Hindustani and comparative languages, I can conclude that in contrast to Persian/Farsi; in Urdu Sher is the Tiger and Babbar Sher is the Lion; actually, as you were saying they were called Bhabhar Sher and from that it became Babbar. Bhabhar denoted spots which can be found on the lion cubs and also faint marks stay on adult lion pelages and therefore Bhabhar or Babbar Sher. Killing one of these Babbar Shers, Founder Mughal Emperor Babur got his Title!
