The community services industry is integral to Tasmania’s social and economic recovery from COVID-19. The vital services the industry provides through our paid workforce and volunteers have supported the wellbeing of all Tasmanians at some point in their lives.
At TasCOSS our role is to challenge, lead and support government and elected representatives to take on new ways of doing things.
Part of this role is looking at new approaches that will break the cycles of entrenched poverty and inequality that are now so starkly on show in our cities, towns and communities. This was the core focus of our work over the past 12 months between July 2020 and June 2021 and culminated in a number of policy and advocacy-driven wins.
