I will never forget how horribly me and my family were treated for going against the grain and “not following the prophet.” They weaponized that phrase and I will never forget. I’ve learned to rely on my Savior, Jesus Christ more than ever and I won’t be going back to the culture of blind obedience to men. They were wrong and should be held accountable for the injuries and deaths and for dividing the church members.

Same. I was the only one in my ward who didn't wear a mask and I was not the only "conservative" who disagreed by a lot. My family used the "I'm following the prophet" on me as well. A member from a far away ward came to ours because they kicked him out for not wearing a mask. My ward must have kicked him out too because he didn't come back and I was told by the bishop in the middle of sacrament meeting, he literally walked down, and told me to wear a mask after the bishopric issued a statement to the ward that they wouldn't enforce it. The excuse was that "we'd get shut down".

I will never forget how me and my family REFUSED to wear a mask at church and how we were treated badly for not "being obedient" to the totally uninspired blind-faith following of alcoholic, womanizing politicians that Mormon leaders worship just one step above God.

Nelson is a doctor and a softie and slightly liberal, he wanted so badly to be a prophet when it came to COVID, so much so that he overstepped.
It’s extremely easy to overstep when you are desperate to profess the words of God.
I completely get it, and I’m not upset.

    • @wvg4800

That and the "Just roll up your sleeve and be a good global citizen" was a turning point for me. I knew from early 2020 that this was a political, globalist agenda and I was listening to the doctors who were trying to come out publicly and warn everyone. I knew that Congress was being treated with Ivermectin and HCQ. I knew they were exempt from the jab. I knew the U.S. was sending millions of doses of HCQ to Brazil while banning its use here. There were just so many doctors putting their careers on the line to save lives, fighting the propaganda and narrative, and for church leaders to come out with this, was outrageous. I remember writing at the time that I was not going to be "Jim Jones'd" by anyone. I remember Hawaii standing guard at churches and demanding members show their "vaccine" and wear the Marxist Mask of Submission, the gang wear of the Marxist Left, a term I coined right from the start. I remember choir members couldn't participate unless they were jabbed. And the poor missionaries. I remember watching the interview of Cherie Romney, by Robyn Openshaw, on Robyn's "Green Smoothie Girl" web page, wherein she described how her son and her husband had horrific reactions that nearly took their lives, and also caused Cherie to deliver her fourth child, early, with all sorts of complications. I remember those members who supported the jabs, shouting how the President of the Church was a "doctor" and thus knew what he was talking about, to which I countered that he had been out of medicine for 40-50 years, and explained about CURRENT cardiologists, epidemiologists, cancer doctors, researchers, etc., who were actually on the front lines, saving lives with early treatments, and warning about the jabs. I posted Kari Mullis, inventor of the PCR test, who said that test was never meant to be used as a Covid detector, that they were spinning it so fast it would pick anything and everything. You can find that interview on RUclips. And then the "miracle we've all been waiting for" statement was the last straw. Then there were the donations to GAVI, and cozying up to the globalists. Alarm bells were going off everywhere. I tried to reason that they were trying to protect the church and missionaries abroad, but at what cost to those who died or had life threatening/altering adverse effects. I just could not square the facts to the narrative. And then began the great war amongst the members that continues to this day. Confusion as to what they "really said", or "really meant", with each side declaring they were right and the other side was evil. They will never apologize. To watch Bishops and members behaving like jack boot thugs was eye opening, to say the least. I don't know how they recover from this, but they will never apologize.

Then the Bishop said "people who struggle to wear the mask and get the vaccination are like those who struggle with pornography" and I can't remember what other serious sin. The one family who were like me and who were on the very back row, stood up and left. They changed wards. during this time I thought, If there was ever a Moroni 10 moment this was it! Funny thing, The Lord showed me more than this was not good for me, he showed me the doctrine of Christ was not being taught. And since then I've been studying and praying harder than I have my whole life. And It's changed my life for sure.

I’ve not recovered the loss of trust and, more troubling respect, for our general authorities. I expected more from them. I’ve been looking for years for that voice of warning crying in the wilderness and I finally heard it. Heard lots of them, some from unexpected places. But none of them were from the leaders of my church. It’s not so much that they were on the wrong side, but there is no sign of contrition and no evidence that they know what a secret combination is, let alone identify one. They are still paying out money to vaccinate people, still making bad hires, and still colluding with various global secret combinations. I’m still active, still a card carrying member with a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as delivered to and received by The Prophet Joseph Smith. But I feel a significant sense of loss in the community that is no more.

It should have been a time of strength and courage. However it seemed to me we ran and hid with everyone else. I had determined that for myself the vaccine didn’t make sense. I had already had Covid and it was little more than a sniffle. Yet I was forced to take the vaccine by my employer. Having church leaders come out and help shame me into compliance was very hurtful. I knew masks were a total joke. Yet here we were for weeks after returning to meetings shaming members into compliance. I credit my continued commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ on the fact that Christ is the foundation. I am with you. Forgiveness is essential for all parties. I had to participate in creating my child and I couldn't be present with my wife and the nurse, because it was "unsafe". The pinnacle achievement of my life besides finding my eternal companion, ruined in a way by forever having the memory of being forced to see my first child for the first time through a Zoom call... Before all this I was unworthy to enter the Temple. Finding my wife changed me and forced me to become worthy with the help of our savior. I thought I'd never ever have children of my own because of my bad life choices before then. So it was extra important for me to see my child. I was also the only one in my ward to not wear a mask until the bishop walked down in the middle of sacrament meeting to tell me to put it on after they said they wouldn't enforce it. When I felt betrayed by my church, I took it to prayer. I was given an answer that I was on the right side of God, that he wants us to make our own decisions and does not want that right taken from us. And that nothing else mattered. Nothing the leaders, family or friends said mattered and to get over it and move on. If I knew where I stood in Gods eyes, that was all I needed. And he would take care of the rest. He is the all mighty and someday those who betrayed us will meet their maker and justice will be served. Ive got on with my life and am happy. I never took the jab and don’t blame others who were deceived. We all have been taught our whole lives, if we have a question, to take it to the Lord! Thats what I did. Did the Brothern do the same? I don’t know and probably will never know in this life. What I learned the night I knelt in prayer, will never be forgotten. Do we all receive the same answers? I don’t know? Luckily I wasn’t coerced to take it, to keep a job or have a medical procedure done. I feel very fortunate for my health. But unfortunately some family had to get the shot to keep their jobs. Others fell victim to the propaganda. It is sad, but they are adults and could decide for themselves. I love my Lord and Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the name of our church. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Not the Gospel of which ever prophets name is at the head of it at the moment. Jesus is our true source and will never fail us. To Him, we must always turn.

That was a very dark time for me. My testimony and trust in the church and the brethren were seriously damaged, after a life of commitment to churchactivity. My faith in and testimony of Jesus Christ kept me going.
I know of a young mother who, while in process of a divorce, was told by her LDS attorney that just because she had forgiven her husband, didn't mean he shouldn't get punished for what he did. Made things come into perspective.

Omgosh. Thank you so much. The question is, why aren't church leaders saying this? I did from the beginning and was treated like an apostate. What I've learned and known since a small child is Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and He's whose guidance we can seek directly. How can any leader of any corporation or congregation ever be relied on to be the mouthpiece of God when they've used coercion and lies that have cost so much death and harm. My testimony of Jesus Christ is stronger than ever. But I believe we have been betrayed by those seeking the acclaim of mankind over the guidance and will of God who do so behind a false Mantle. Prophets of old called kings and Queens to accountability and lost their lives doing it. This is truly a confusion of good and evil for those willing to rely on the arm of flesh and in the name of the Lord.
They will and are being held accountable by real leaders such as you and those of us who recognized this was not according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The wheat and tares are being separated within our eyesight . I feel rage at the utter betrayal of leaders that have led so many to death and heartbreak. Some still prefer blinders. I've chosen to try harder to see more clearly for the AC is surely among us and we see how easily he can lead so many astray. I pray for the enlightenment of all those who care about following our Savior that they won't be deceived to eternal damnation which is a separation from our God.

My considered opinion is this - the hierarchy of the church is generally much older than the general population, and COVID was primarily a disease of the elderly. I think the elderly church leaders were consumed by their personal individual fears of the virus (and it was a threat for them), but they should understand that they sacrificed the young and healthy in service of their fears.
I would love to have the prophet apologize for not counseling different strategies for COVID to the people who had different risk profiles. "Never visit grandma if you have the sniffles" might have been reasonable, rather than, "take this experimental drug that might hurt your fertility when you want to someday have a family".

    • @CM333-z6c
      @CM333-z6c 12 дней назад +3

Fear is not of God. If our leaders are afraid for their own lives, then they are not leaders! They definitely feared man instead of God. Most elderly died from neglect, and lack of care (and bad protocols) if they became sick. Covid was not an accident but a well planned mechanism to decrease the population and enforce fear and control. The facts prove the leaders are complicit. Cognitive dissonance and normality bias keeps us from believing it.

Why do they consistently seem to get things wrong?

Been a very hard 5 years. I got hit with an economic sledgehammer and been very difficult. I watched as people all around me cashed their checks, socialized privately while engaging in covid theatre publicly and played along while I never took "stimulus' ( a debt passed on to others) and lost 1.7M dollars in business and loads more in opportunity costs. Today I watch these same people who played along, cashed the checks, complain about the cost of things and I always ask how much they took in stimulus or if they wore their masks and "followed the rules". Of course they now all say they didnt. Interesting..because I was maybe only 5% of people I saw who wasnt playing the game. Who sold us out the most? Boomers. They were too busy watching their wealth explode instead of taking a leadership role and using their wisdom as sentinels over society to warn us of this government over reach and difficult economic times that would come. I dont think any event in my life has made me more disappointed in people in general....

as a GenXer, I agree. the older generation really screwed the younger people over. When the youth were gathering in no mask parties "illegally" during covid. I cheered them on. and the older generations were saying "how irresponsible and dangerous" The younger generation has a lot more sense, and good reason to stop listening to the older people. i am disappointed in half of GenX and almost all of Boomers.

I am a “boomer” and I feel really bad that you think all this is my fault. I have never taken any vaccine, since I was old enough to do so by myself (18) and I had 11 children that did not have any vaccines until they chose for them selves. I absolutely do not care for our “sickcare” system. It is so wrong! Read your scriptures, people!

I know multiple families that left "the church" because of the stance on the jab and masks.....i don't blame this for being an eye openening dilemma but it makes me sad that the church officially saying that abortion isn't murder or the church sponsoring gay pride events such as the "love loud festival" was not a bigger reason to leave

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

No the law needs to pushed on these individuals. there should be no exceptions 501(c)(3) any organization that is viewed as an NGO should face full accountability and receive full and maximum punishment of law if found guilty. This includes the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and most churches and charities
The amount of emotional and psychological damage of shutting down church caused me definitely what makes me think. I’m going to go after the churches insurance. Not the church itself. There’s a reason why you have insurance.

At this point I’m so glad they shut down church so I had the chance to actually experience a Sunday spent worshipping God not worried about making it to all of my meetings 🫠 and it gave me insight as to what is really important to the church and it’s not fearing God and upholding principles of truth. It was bowing to the arm of flesh at a time so many of our rights were violated.

Coercion by gov. Whitehouse website had a video of 8 gov telling Biden how their states were encouraging vaccine. Cox himself said “we know people do not trust the government so we have reached out to religious leaders”. Not word for word but I watched it twice. It was apparent they got help from religious leaders of all kinds. It was a zoom call between Biden and those 8 governors, one being Gov Cox.

Truly, President Nelsons exhortation should have said Hear Him Hear Him, don't always listen to us but that is probably our test isn't it? Many failed big time. At the time I write this comment, there are 278 comments. That is a very small group of people. A relatively small fraction of the population, and I suspect smaller fraction of members of the church, refused the jab and masking. A much larger percentage of the population received the jab, including members of the church.
The church has already offended a small minority of its members. If it were to apologize, it would alienate a large percentage of its members. Why would the church do that? It won’t. Very little good will come from an apology, and that is why, even though Conner‘s comments are spot on, as are all the comments to this podcast, you will never hear an apology.
BUT, gospel of Jesus Christ is still true, this is still his church, and we are still led by a prophet of God who can lead us aright in spiritual matters. each of us has the satisfaction of knowing that we were guided by the Holy Ghost to discern truth. That is very satisfying, indeed.
So, get up, move on and forget about vindication or an apology. It’s not coming.

I personally think this would be an awesome opportunity to teach the church members how repentance is done from the top.
However, what I understand of how repentance is actually done is to pretend it never happened. Well, at least publucly pretend or say that it was the best I could do.
I sometimes wish I believed members believe and live their religion, not they get a feeling of being more important or righteous for living their religion.

I thought I had awakened a lot in 2017-19 but I think it was just the tiniest little bit to prepare me for 2020. How everyone was not seeing the myriad of lies around every corner that year is beyond me. I really think God had prepared me. I have not been asked for forgiveness by anyone. I was treated horribly for being a normal/natural human.
