Rock it ladies! People don't even believe I'm in my 60's. Sometimes I don't believe it either!! Y'all look better than some of them in their 30's and 40's. It's all about style and class and you ladies have tremendous class and style in just how you dress alone because I don't know any of you personally!. You'll turn heads far quicker than walking around looking like a hooker like some of these young women look in our society today!!
I recently moved to a tropical climate. I would love some ideas for how to look elegant when it's 90 degrees and humid. A third layer is not possible 95% of the time!
In Florida, May 10 and it's 97 degrees. Wear a light colored shell blouse, and a same colored light blouse with 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves. Earrings, necklace, watcher bracelet to accessorize. Skirts are cooler than pants. Long length palazzo pants good substitute. Humidity can wreck the best hair style. Find elegant hair accessory such as combs and clips, drawing one side back is Princess elegant style and is cooling.
I appreciate your inspirations of style. I do regret that there is so much lack of style now. People tend to go everywhere as if they were on a tracking tour or on the beach. Best wishes to all for a fashionable new year 2024!
It's so very nice to dress for your age, that is chic and classy, and more important is to keep on going in a way that honors you and who you really are. A woman with short or mini skirt is really out of touch with herself when you're getting older...very tacky...to say the least and you attracted loser for partner.
So far as I can see, your version of elegance includes solid colors, no prints; a well-maintained hairstyle; classic, well-kept, good quality clothing that covers all the wrinkly bits, like the chest and if possible, the neck as well and has seen the tailor's needle so that it fits like a glove; a svelte figure to hang these garments on; a conservative, appropriate amount of makeup; a good manicure; nice, but not over-the-top accessories; and a great pair of sunnies. I absolutely agree. The one improvement I would make is to give the accessories a little more color or presence, but just a little more, and add some silk scarves for color -- they can be worn SO many different ways!
If you study all these outfits you’ll notice that what they have in colour is chic colour combinations in , mainly neutrals. This is not so suitable for a hot climate but the same principle could still be applied . Garish prints will never hack it .

Whenever I see videos about elegance I notice two things: the models are above average looking (even beautiful) and they are in good shape (physically)! Of course clothes are also important! 😊
All I see are jackets and tops! Working clothes. They are nice but look like from a catalogue! More to style for women over 60. We want elegant but upbeat and stylish - travel clothes and social night out clothes and for hotter climates. Cheers. 😊

It’s winter so there would be coats but I saw complete outfits. I do agree however about having a variety of heights and weights. As far as perfect hair, I think many of us could do a better job by finding someone who knows how to cut hair for senior women and to color hair better. But the title of the piece emphasizes elegant and as a woman trying to lose weight, I have to say I look and feel better at my correct weight than when I am overweight. This inspires me to reach my goal.
@@suegriggs5384 Since a couple of years, I try not to eat in the evenings. If I have guests in the evening and can't help eating, I skip breakfast. This helped me loosing weight. And I eat everything and have problems resisting good food, especialy sweets. Another good way of keeping/loosing weight is drinking a table spoon of a good apple-vinegar in a glass of lukewarm water before meals. I wish you success!

Absolutely gorgeous outfit for short trips, I am over 60 and traveling a lot but the flights are over 8 hours that at the end of the trip there’s no way of maintaining the elegant look. Any suggestions on what to wear for a long flight that I will still look good when I arrived in another country.

I travel a LOT & I have 2 favorites for comfort & arriving beautifully: a pair of well made dark blue jeans with STRETCH; A Well made WHITE t-shirt; a Beautiful Navy Cashmere Cardigan; Add a good brown leather belt, matching booties & a brown tote. My go-to is Black stretch jeans; Black tank top, Black calf-length Cashmere Cardigan, Black Cowboy boots and a Black Gucci belt with GOLD buckle, and a Black & Gray patterned Tote. (mine is the Never-Full but it can be anything to add interest) TRUST me when I say, "TRAVEL in ARIAT COWBOY BOOTS"- you'll NEVER wear anything else (I mean, on your feet) And obviously the belt doesn't have to be designer but make sure it has a SHINY gold buckle. I get TONS of compliments EVERY time I travel- from ALL ages! For reference, I'm 62.

My curly hair is longer than any of these looks. I can look classic in wide bottom yoga pants, round neck t and a fitted zip jacket and sneakers. Oh and my oversized shades wherever I go. 😊

Everybody is a complainer. Blah, blah, blah. How many elderly professional models do you think there are? There's a very limited pool to choose from, and fewer photos of them looking elegant.
I’m 4’11”. I *never* see fashion videos featuring models as short as I am. Does that bother me? *No.* I know what flatters my body and what doesn’t and I can still glean inspiration from most videos, adapted to my own body. I also understand that, generally speaking, most clothing tends to look best on relatively young, fit, tall, and slender(ish) bodies. We may not like that reality, some may even be offended to hear it, and it may be the result of generations of cultural stereotyping, but…. There it is. TBH, I *do* like seeing older women represented, but what is the point if the wrinkles that naturally come with aging are ‘lifted’, botoxed, or airbrushed away? *That* is what bothers me with this video: either *show* older women -unfiltered- or don’t.
These women look beautiful! Classic, good quality clothing. Upscale handbag. Beautiful makeup application. I think it’s essential to have good quality clothing as your base for every look. It makes a huge difference.

How is it “a shame” to show women protecting their eyes outdoors? Good sunglasses help prevent age-related macular degeneration -a common eye disorder in older people- which eventually can result in blindness. They also help prevent wrinkles caused by squinting in bright light. I never even step outdoors to garden without sunglasses. Diagnosed with macular degeneration when only in my 40s (and told I’d likely be blind by 60), I’ve completely halted its progression for 20 years by being diligent about protecting my eyes with sunglasses and brimmed hats. It’s self-care, not vanity. And better to *prevent* before it even starts.

This was upscale, business dress at it best. But I'm not a flawless, size 4 model. Just a plain Jane, smallish city, size 14, pear shaped gal without a morning hair stylist. But i would like to know how to get the beautiful volume in my hair and make it stay all day!!
I wear size 16 and it's very difficult to wear functional clothes as I have to used a well design as per my size a 5ft4 wheelchair. I had 2 spine surgery, 2 right shoulder, waiting for left surgery. Also for short distance, I walk with a cane and husband to secure and assist me. Brown medium over the shoulder hair done each month by a Salon styling. I do my makeup each day I need. Thank you
These are great pictures. However, most women I encounter and know personally in my age group are not size 6-8. Most of us are 14-18. I would really LOVE to see "models" who are in that size range, with links to companies who support "normal" sized women. There is NOTHING. more frustrating that seeing a great outfit, ordering in your size, only to find that the cut is NOTHING like was shown online, just because you are a larger size. I'd be FAR more willing to invest in shopping if they would show regular women on the street who represent the average American woman age 50+. These clothes are lovely, but I'm thinking 99% of them would look bad on a woman my size, but I don't know....because I don't see any of those models.
I came here to say the same thing. Very easy to look elegant if you have an hourglass or are slim with broader shoulders and long legs. I’ve been pear-shaped all my life and after life events got in the way of my exercise I am now a UK size 16. Desperately trying to slim down but finding modern clothing that suits me is hard because I can’t picture the clothing models wear on my body. You made very good points - we never see the average physique represented.

It's the color combinations that make an elegant outfit. Neutrals, classic lines, minimal accessories. Just change out long sleeves for short or sleeveless. Can go with cropped pants if they fit well.
You don’t need to look like a model. Use it for inspiration and tweak it to your life. If your a sweatshirt and jeans person apply the color combinations.

It’s very common for mostly Italian and French women to wear sunglasses..I lived in Rome for 3 years in the 70’s. No matter how I tried I never looked so effortlessly put together as Italian women. With them it’s an art and beautiful!🤩

I lived in Florida, southern, so it was hot there most of the time. I found it best to wear shorts and capris, as an older lady, with cap sleeves. Even though it was hot one could wear thin sheer tops with knee length to them. Most women would be at the ocean or pool with wide brim hats and light cover ups over bathing suits.

Даже если у вас есть вкус, но нет денег, то вы и близко не быдете так выглядеть, особенно в такие годы, как у них.

This was upscale, business dress at it best. But I'm not a flawless, size 4 model. Just a plain Jane, smallish city, size 14, pear shaped gal without a morning hair stylist. But i would like to know how to get the beautiful volume in my hair and make it stay all day!!

I wear size 16 and it's very difficult to wear functional clothes as I have to used a well design as per my size a 5ft4 wheelchair. I had 2 spine surgery, 2 right shoulder, waiting for left surgery. Also for short distance, I walk with a cane and husband to secure and assist me. Brown medium over the shoulder hair done each month by a Salon styling. I do my makeup each day I need. Thank you

These are great pictures. However, most women I encounter and know personally in my age group are not size 6-8. Most of us are 14-18. I would really LOVE to see "models" who are in that size range, with links to companies who support "normal" sized women. There is NOTHING. more frustrating that seeing a great outfit, ordering in your size, only to find that the cut is NOTHING like was shown online, just because you are a larger size.
I'd be FAR more willing to invest in shopping if they would show regular women on the street who represent the average American woman age 50+. These clothes are lovely, but I'm thinking 99% of them would look bad on a woman my size, but I don't know....because I don't see any of those models.
I came here to say the same thing. Very easy to look elegant if you have an hourglass or are slim with broader shoulders and long legs. I’ve been pear-shaped all my life and after life events got in the way of my exercise I am now a UK size 16. Desperately trying to slim down but finding modern clothing that suits me is hard because I can’t picture the clothing models wear on my body. You made very good points - we never see the average physique represented.

It's the color combinations that make an elegant outfit. Neutrals, classic lines, minimal accessories. Just change out long sleeves for short or sleeveless. Can go with cropped pants if they fit well.
I must buy more sunglasses. 90% of these models have them on.

You don’t need to look like a model. Use it for inspiration and tweak it to your life. If your a sweatshirt and jeans person apply the color combinations.

It’s very common for mostly Italian and French women to wear sunglasses..I lived in Rome for 3 years in the 70’s. No matter how I tried I never looked so effortlessly put together as Italian women. With them it’s an art and beautiful!🤩

Good sunglasses actually help *prevent* wrinkles from squinting in bright light. They also help prevent age-related macular degeneration, which eventually can result in blindness.
I lived in Florida, southern, so it was hot there most of the time. I found it best to wear shorts and capris, as an older lady, with cap sleeves. Even though it was hot one could wear thin sheer tops with knee length to them. Most women would be at the ocean or pool with wide brim hats and light cover ups over bathing suits.
I like it all the outfits I'm 68 and I look gorgeous, I'm in good shape👍eating healthy
