It's Thursday And Today We're The Fortunate One... "Fortunate Son", by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), was written by front-man, singer-songwriter lead guitarist John Fogerty. It's the first song on side two of their fourth studio album 'Willy and the Poor Boys'. It was recorded in the latter half of 1969 at Wally Heider's Studio in San Francisco. As a single, it was released as the B side ("Down On the Corner" was the A side) in September 1969. 'Willy and the Poor Boys' was released on Nov 2, 1969. When the song was released, CCR was already one of the hottest rock bands in the world, having scored three consecutive #2 singles and the #1 album 'Green River'. 'Willy and the Poor Boys' reached #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was #2 in Australia, Canada and Norway, #10 in the UK, #11 in Japan, #25 in Germany and #1 in France. "Fortunate Son" hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 in Australia and #10 in Germany. SongFacts describes the song as "an anti-establishment song of defiance and blue-collar pride, both anti-Washington and against the Vietnam War. Fogerty said. "It's the old saying about rich men making war and poor men having to fight them."" To avoid being drafted and sent to Vietnam, both Fogerty and drummer Doug Clifford had enlisted in the Army Reserves and were discharged in 1968. Fogerty recalled to American Songwriter magazine in January 2013: "When I felt it was about ready to hatch, I went into my bedroom and just sat down to write. The whole thing happened in about 20 minutes. That just poured out." From 1970 there was increasing dissent in the band as the other members felt it was becoming a one-man show for John Fogerty. His older brother Tom left in 1971. After four years of hits, CCR disbanded in 1972. John became involved with legal battles with his record label which sued him for breach of contract in 1973. He settled by signing over to Fantasy Records all rights to the CCR songs and recordings. He refused to perform any of the CCR songs until briefly in 1987 when he performed at the Palomino Club in LA. Fantasy was sold to Concord Records in 2004 and, in a goodwill gesture, restored John's song ownership. Tom Fogerty passed away in 1990 and John remains distant from the two surviving members Doug Clifford and bassist Stu Cook. In May 2013, Fogerty said he'd be open to a reunion but, in September 2017, Clifford again ruled out any chance - "It would have been great twenty, twenty-five years ago. It’s way too late now." Sunday, in most countries, is Fathers' Day. Share some music with your dad or, if you're a dad or grandad, check out what your kids and grandkids listen to. Music has to live and grow - particularly in these times. Stay safe and see you again next week!
@@sina-drums You're welcome. Yeah, not all sons, and daughters, are fortunate when it comes to band longevity. At least the three guys are still making music even though they're not together anymore.
Thanks again our Kasey Kasem Duo for another fact-filled backstory that, although doesn't have a happier ending than most, still tells how the song came about. Happy Father's Day to your husband and dad JulietP and Miss Ro! And Happy Father's Day this Sunday to all Dads!!
A sad story too often repeated. Ego getting in the way of creativity. There are those who balk at politics and social movements in popular music but isn't that where most popular music comes from. From Woody Guthrie and his son Arlo, Pete Seager, Dylan, Beaze, and others.
THIS song is an anthem to a whole generation for men and women…the world was in turmoil with an unpopular war raging in Vietnam and surrounding countries and the young people of the US were just not having it. CCR nailed it with this song and it holds up over time as an iconic tribute to a more turbulent era. You can’t hear this song without the image of a Huey helicopter flying over the jungle tree tops… When young people like Sina take the time to LEARN the song and introduce it to a new generation of listeners, well, it lets those who lived the older times know that they were not forgotten. Thank you as always Sina.
Thanks again, Sina, for this one! Definitely one of my favorite songs of all time (then again, I have thousands of favorite songs, seemingly like you do, as well). I still can't believe that you actually like classic rock, but it is quite clear that you're enjoying these performances. Sometime soon, I will find a way to reach out to you, as I think you may enjoy my vocal rendition of this tune (and I have a personal connection to this song that I'd like to share with you or your dad -- whoever wants to listen). For now, I will just advise you to enjoy the present and stay close with your family (even as you make your name out there on your own). Our time on this Earth is limited and its a gift... Thanks for sharing your time with the World.
Sina, you are a beautiful woman, a beautiful person and an incredible talent. This will probably be a little long, and I’m sure you might not be able to spend the time to read it but your music means so much to me that I just wanted to write it anyway. I grew up painfully shy and was one of those kids that floated through high school totally invisible to most of the guys and all of the girls. In 1963 my neighborhood buddies needed a bass player for their newly formed rock band. At the time there were virtually no bands in town but we taught ourselves to play mostly instrumentals. Then the Beatles hit the US and our world blew up. The music was unstoppable. Even though I was still pretty invisible (you know, the whole bass player thing) the music gave me a sense of purpose and self satisfaction that literally filled my soul. God, I loved the music. We never had any plans to make it big but we sure had a lot of fun. With the band members moving on and getting married we broke up in 1969 on good terms (we were all good friends anyway). In my city we had a large community center and throughout the seventies and early eighties nearly every single touring group came through our town and I saw them all live. My love for the music began to fade in the early nineties and I lost it all eventually. I even quit listening to the radio in my car. I recently found your channel and you have touched me very deeply. I realized that I didn’t lose my music, the music lost me. You are a living playlist of all that I loved in the music. I hope you might understand how much you have meant to me. I especially love the way you seek out young talent and bring them into the golden age of music. I know you get a lot of fans that want to meet you and that just isn’t possible, especially for me. However, if I had a choice I would love to sit in the corner and just listen to you practice. Keep the rock and roll alive and thank you so much for what you do. Love ya kid, Gary
You guys broke up (the band) in 69?....That was the year the music world virtually exploded into what it is today, bro...Everyone at my age remembers that year...Or I'd like to think so.. Anyway, it'd be interesting to hear some of the stuff you guys played through those six years... 🙂 ..And one more thing.. I'm not quite sure, but I have the feeling Sina is finding the time (or found it already) to read your message...Like Jimi Hendrix would say, sometime at the end of '69...."Who knows..."
Ya, we broke up around the time Abby Road debuted (if I remember correctly). We mostly just played parties and school dances so most of our playlist consisted of feel good dance music. Lots of Beatles and our favorite British Invasion stuff, Paul Revere and the Raiders along with stuff like Mitch Ryder and assorted upbeat R&B and Motown. If it was fun and good to dance to it was on our list. I am now 72 years old and have lived a full and wonderful life and I still consider being in the band the best thing I ever did. What a wonderful time of my life.
My guess is that her dad is so proud; and he should be. My own daughter is really into her music also. I would never criticize anyone’s art but she grew up in the Seattle grunge movement and it just didn’t reach me. How great would it be to have all this amazing young talent seriously study this era with its unique messages, beats and diversity and begin to write new music. Sina is bringing much needed exposure to a world that could so easily have been lost. Gary, fan for life.
From 1992 to 2006 I was a soldier in the Special Combat Force of Germany in Somalia, the whole Yugoslav war (IFOR, SFOR, KFOR) Afghanistan, Congo and others. My life during the war and then 174 festivals. I found my happiness in the war and have 4 children. When I see such beautiful young people today who reinvent the hits of that time, it makes me happy. I wish you all the best and health, peace and love. Best wishes of All the Soldiers in the World and fight for peace and freedome.
I am smitten by this young German vixen! She has an amazing gift! She has such an incredible ability to absorb a song and play it back perfectly with such elegance and grace! Douglas Clifford is one of my idols as a drummer! He is like Ringo Starr,..he played the song and always gave it what it needed! His fills are legendaryt! SIna shows them proper respect, and then some! 😉
True! As if Sina crystallised the style needed. So pure and joy to listen to. Note, I always wondered about Dougie's trad left-hand grip. That was unsual in rock. Now, if Sina has exercised that grip too, there must be some magic there
I am going to order a shirt and a coffee mug when they get them back in stock. I emailed her merchandiser here in the US and asked if they offered a vinyl sticker of her logo but no dice. I was gonna put it on the back window of my car. Sina if you read this you should consider having them produced. I can create one on a vinyl cutter I have access to but that isn't cool. Copyright infringement. I suppose if I just made the one and didn't try to sell them it would be ok....... I could just send Sina a five'r and call it good.
This is what kids today NEED to he into. Find your talent and role with it. STAY OUT OF TROUBLE! So many, so many talented children out there that NEED to be heard and giving a chance to make a difference in today's society.
I am a percussionist by trade yet you never cease to amaze me. I have run out of adjectives to accurately describe your other worldly talent young miss. Thank you for showing us oldsters (53) how it can and should be done. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
Oh yes, it definitely has a lot to it. Ok was in Vietnam when this came out. It pretty much told a story of the men fighting overseas. Everyone had their own reasons to listen but it all came back to the guys on the battle field. There's another song by Crosby, Still, Nash and Young called, For What It Worth, I'm sure you know this song but if not here goes. Well this addresses the kids back home. The ones that didn't go to Nam or just got home from there. It was a hard long fight to get our feeling heard and felt. Slot of demonstrations And a ton of hippies, it was great Agenst I
The traditional grip gives way to keeping anchored on snare work and out of the way of traveling. The snare head was perfectly tuned as the original CCR composition.
CCR still remains One of my Favorite groups of all time. Many remakes of all kinds of music fails to live up to the original. However, Sina’s cover of Fortunate Son (to me) was an improvement on the original. Doug Clifford would give his stamp of approval !!! Great cover, Sina!!!
There are lots of very talented people making drum covers on youtube. As with anything in life, someone has to be the best. Sina, that would be you. You are the best of the best!!
The quality of your videos, the way you film yourself and catch the various aspects of your drumming, how you rearrange the kit and sticks for each new tune, and how you research it show how well you combine your work ethic with not just your well-earned skill but also the pleasure I think I see in your drumming.
Sina knows all the favorite songs of my teenage years. Back then I was mainly paying attention to the guitar players. Were the drummers that good? Probably Sina is better.
I wá a teenager when this came out a Canadian, wondering if I lived in the States to what would I have done, fight a crazy war or move north. Sina brought it all back. A tragedy of politics.
Miss Sina during the 60's America was embroiled in the Viet Nam war. A lot of rock bands were putting out songs protesting against the war. Thats not a bad thing. The Viet Nam war was heavily protested by college students also. Crosby Stills Nash and Young came out with a song called Ohio in 1970 to protest the killing of 4 college students by national guard troops called in by the govenor during a war protest rally at Kent state university in Ohio.To really understand the gravity of these songs you must first understand the state of mind of a country in the mist of an unpopular war.It was a time when people like Martin Luther King Jr. Were also protesting for equal rights in America. I'm sad to say that struggle still continues today. That said I'm very glad you chose to do this song as always it was a great job.
@@stevezweig5337 Looks like someone needs to learn the difference between "over-analyzing" and providing a little background information. Even though I was already aware of the history of the song, I really appreciate Richard Pierce sharing it with those that weren't already in the know. THANKS RICHARD! 👍
It was such a great moment for me to hear/see you drumming that great song of the iconic group CCR. It took me back to the end of the sixties as I had the opportunity to entertain my fellows as a DJ. At that time CCR had one hit after another, almost every quarter. But I remember that it was the first band who brought to my attention how important the rhythm section was for their sound with Doug (Cosmo) Clifford on drums and Stu Cook on bass, it was for sure not only John Fogerty as the admired front man, singer-songwriter and guitarist. I would appreciate if you would cover more CCR songs like Suzie Q or Born On The Bayou or Green River.
You go girl. You have made my morning by playing one of my favorite "air drumming" songs. This song bring by memories when I was in Parris Island in the summer of '68 and off to Nam in early '69.
MY GOODNESS!!!! SINA SINA SINA!!! FIRST I wanna tell you how happy Proud and congratulations young Lady!!! I have always said that you were definitely Special young Lady!! I million and counting subscribers!!! I knew you could and would do it!! You always impress me ALWAYS!!! Fantastic drum cover CCR!! Thank you so much for all that you do!!! I STILL AM AND ALWAYS WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!! Have been from your young 15 years old and you bring happiness and good feelings worldwide!!! Straight from the HEART LAND OF THE USA!!! JAMES NIX OF KANSAS!!! You make me wish I was back in GERMANY!!! So I could see you and your BAND PERFORM LIVE!!!! Love ya!!!!
Thanks Sina, you gave us an irresistible cover again, another proof of your skills on drums! Like many others at CCR I first noticed guitarist and singer-songwriter :) John Fogerty, but for the first time in a band I paid attention to the drums as a leading rhythm instrument, played by Doug Clifford (with traditional grip :) . Exemplary e.g. on "Suzie Q" and "Born On The Bayou". Unfortunately I couldn't see them live: When they played in Munich, where I live, I was in Paris and as you can imagine they were in Paris when I was back in Munich.
Thanks Sina for this cover of CCR. Brings back memories of how much I enjoyed CCR when I was in high school back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Your talent is the best and makes our day better during these difficult times. KEEP ON ROCKING!!!
This is a great song, very prominent when I served in the US Navy, in 74 many bars that served us ran a Vietnam Huey background video while it played, some just put up a projector screen and ran veteran war movies while various music played, they really hit you deep in your soul, MTV & VH1 had nothing on that... Keep rocking Sina
Very well done, Sina. This is one of the truly great songs from one of the truly great American rock and roll bands, and your drumming was fantastic. I always enjoy listening to your interpretations of some of the greatest drummers in rock history. You are a truly gifted musician, and it has been my pleasure watching and listening to you grow and evolve as a drummer and person. It blew my mind when Ian Paice, my favorite drummer, gave you a positive review of the Deep Purple classic, Burn. That had to feel really good, hearing a legend compliment your performance of an incredibly difficult piece. Anyway, keep on rocking, Sina and keep up the great work!
That was Fantastic. As a young boy that was one of my favorite songs ever. I must admit that I always thought Sina just did over hand drumming, love the underhanded. Sina, Mike , I do not know if you read these yourself. I saw a film 1 week ago called The Gene Krupka Story. He was a drummer that performed from 1927 to his death in the early 1970's. He even had battles with Buddy Rich. After watching it I think I now understand Sina a little more. The music / drumming are in your head and fingers and hands. Thank you for such great music.. As always Be well and Be safe. Craig P.
I had the same reply a year ago. For Reelz, how many ways can we tell this young lady how BadAss she really is. She makes my Friday's a little better every week. And it's APPRECIATED. Thank you Sina, for all you do.
You said it! Sina is one of my all time favourite drummers......and I mean including Bonzo, Moon, Ringo, Peart, Rich, etc. Sina, you are a phenomenally talented musician.
I have often commented on her musical ability and many times I've clicked to comment, but just backed out because often there isn't enough words to describe her. Sina Rocks and she knows, that myself as a general fan, is proud of her hard work and what she has been able to accomplish, being so young and full of talent. I'd like to see her achieve a Doctored in Music. But that's up to her. That would take a lot of work on her part, but it's only obvious she can achieve it. I'm glad I found her channel because she does make me smile as you mentioned, every time I see her, but I know she has tough things to deal with in her daily life too, just like everyone else and so it seems to me sometimes, a little unfair that we get so many smiles and can't give them back in return. I just hope the comments we give back can make her smile (and I'm going to say it because I've never said it before, now don't blush Sina) I hope my comments can give you a smile, as pretty as you are, because you deserve it! 😃😀☺😉 Thanks for the great song. Love the solo at the end. Take care and stay safe and healthy! I hope everyone in your family is well. See ya. Jpol. Just South of Detroit Mi.
great technique, sharp, neat accurate drum strokes and perfect timing. This drummer uses matched grip as well as " jazz" grip. All new drummers can learn from this performer.
Wow, simply amazing! Most people don't realize how Fortunate Son is NOT exactly an easy song to cover. The fills are tricky as hell! Sina , you were spot on! Can't tell you how inspirational you are to someone twice your age still learning drums. You've taught me so much. Thanks for that! Rock on!
Wow, it's still Amazing to watch this... I've studied this song for years and it's Absolutely blows my mind how you were able to capture Doug's Groove Perfectly, from his traditional grip, to him leading with his left hand for his fills, to him doing Triple stroke instead of four stroke fills!!! Thank You So Much For This Performance Sina!!! BRAVO 👏👏👏
Nicely done Sina! Just flawless! You looking so incredibly fabulous with the CCR drumming! I always love the sweet Sina bow at the end of your videos. CCR kept it sounding very real with their music & lyrics. Your video performance was just that. You know how to capture a song & become one with it. You truelly rock!!!
Sina, I was 3 years old when this song came out. LoL about 30 years before you were born. I'm so glad there are young people like you that recognize and understand the importance of music... thank you.
I literally won't stop watching her releases here 'til I've enjoyed it all today! It's just amazing how she nails every bit of the subtleties in all that grabs her passionate heart. Just ... in awe, almost speechless. Makes me sooo happy to see and hear. Feel like no other, and very possibly greater than the likes of session master Jeff Procaro in that respect.
Creedence Clearwater Revival was a huge part of my teenage years when they were a massive hit back in the day. I especially enjoyed “Proud Mary”. Doug “Cosmo” Clifford would be very proud, and so would John Fogerty and Stu Cook. Tom Fogerty is smiling down from heaven. Sina does not just play the drums, she is as one with the instrument of music. She sure nailed this song but good.
Hi Sina, As I said in one of my previous comments I'm really busy trying to catch up and comment on all your covers of songs from my youth and this one 'FORTUNATE SON' was truly one of my favorites from my late teens! I wasn't able to listen to it often as I was still employed by 'UNCLE SAM' but after my separation in '71 played it almost continuously up until I had literally worn the grooves out on the 45 record and that takes alot!! What I wouldn't have given to have CD's back then!! Anyway let's talk about your cover, simply put pure magic and poetry in motion!! Very well done Sweetie!! I have already downloaded it into my 'SINA-DRUMS' classics file and can now listen to and watch it whenever I want (WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE AFTER I FINISH THIS COMMENT) What can I say....your covers have become rather addictive to me and enjoy watching and tapping my toe along with the beautiful music they contain!! You don't know it but you may have created a "MONSTER!". So until next time..."ROCK ON!" "STAY STRONG" and as always "LOVE YA and YOUR MUSIC"
Doug "Cosmo" Clifford of CCR has posted YOUR Video on his Facebook Page Sina!! Another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Drummer to add to the list of Sina Fans! Congratulations Sina!!
@@ScottyColoradoKid No, he didn't leave a comment, but you have to assume he liked it as he posted it. Lookup "Doug Cosmo Clifford facebook" You'll find it right away. Just scroll down on the right side there and you'll find Sina's video!!
This Corona lockdown and the "cabin fever" and stress that is part of it has been bad BUT a little bit of good rock ALWAYS has a calming effect - thanks young lady - great to see the rock 'n roll torch being carried into the future by such talented next generation musicians such as yourself and others - thank you... .
CCR timeless..... if this is your first CCR song, I think we all expect some more drum covers of this fabulous band. Sina, as always fantastic. It brings back the really good 60's and 70's.......
I was 13 when this song was released and I lived an hour away from San Francisco at the time. As I raced toward 18 years old and the Vietnam war still going on, bands like CCR were very important to my generation. Sina has continued to capture the true nature of all her cover songs and I’m thankful that the music that is so important to me will continue to live on for young people to discover and enjoy for many years. I’m soooo glad, as are many others, that I ran across this talented lady!
Every time I hear this I think of the scene in Forrest Gump as he arrives in Vietnam by helicopter to meet Lt. Dang. I always crank up the sound at that part of the movie. The helicopters sound like they are in my living room! Great movie GREAT SOUNDTRACK! Really like the video overlays on this. VERY COOL MIKE! This will surely be a hit on your channel! Love it! Thanks for the extended smiles at the end little lady. Would love to see those more often! :) :) :) Happy Father's Day Mike! Enjoy your weekend team Sina!
This sounded so good Sina..A classic in the hands of a very talented interpreter and executioness..if there is such a word..and if there isn't..well, there is now...for Sina.. 😎
No había visto este video, sí soy fan de CCR y me extrañaba que no hicieras algún tema por Doug es un gran baterista, excelente interpretación. Ahora quiero Born on the Bayou..😉
Well... Greil Marcus once wrote about 'Fortunate Son' that is is one of at least four CCR tunes, that literally defined R&R. Pure Rock without any kind of posing or gimmicks. To be honest, when I bought my first CCR album in 1976 (-> Chronicles) I never took notice to Doug Cliffords way of drumming (Mea Culpa) I was more concentrating on John Fogertys lyrics and the guitar play in their songs. As much as I've seen during Sina's cover, this ignorance of mine, ~45 years ago, was definetely a mistake. It's fun to see Sina showing us what Clifford did for the CCR songs. A timeless Rock'n' Roll pearl, dust removed and pollished by a real R&R drummer of our time. Thank you! :)
Yes, S I N A, every song gains quality when you play the drums. It looks so easy and there is so much hard work behind it. It's great that you are doing this for us. The cover was fun, thank you very much and thank you to everyone involved. 💖💖💖💖💦💦💕🥇🏆👍🎶✔✔😁 Ja, S I N A , jeder Song gewinnt an Qualität wenn du die Drums spielst. Es sieht so leicht aus und es steckt doch so viel harte Arbeit dahinter. Super, dass du das für uns machst. Das Cover hat Spaß gemacht, vielen Dank dafür und vielen Dank an alle Beteiligten. 💖💖💖💖💦💦💕🥇🏆👍🎶✔✔😁
Sina is using her new olD left hand flip stick grip on this ccc war song classic. Can you smell the napalm and hear the 5o cal singing her death Rattle from the chopper? Draft march kill and bury the dead.... The bad old days seem to be starting again hEre in the States as rabid mobs are ravaging at will and hating the hands that feed them.
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son: Eben im Radio gehört und dachte: Was'n tolles Schlagzeug...Wär doch was für Sina? Und sie war zu Glück schon dran! Danke Sina! ;)
I've been watching Sina for a little over a year now. She is a really good drummer and her videos helped me through bad times In life. She Is awesome if you see this sina keep rocking on you crazy diamond.
You are absolutely one of the best drummers I believe I have ever seen. You seem to put your hole soul into your playing. I just love watching you play. Thank you for sharing..
I'm a huge CCR fan, so, this here video was a joy to watch/hear. As always, superb job on drums, ma'am. By the way, I like that you played with traditional grip (that's how Doug Clifford of CCR plays!).
Nice "old-fashioned" grip with the left drumstick Sina....Creedence Clearwater Revival is still one of my favourite bands and I think you nailed Fortunate son. I just love to hear you playing Sina and have a great Midsummer!!! ❤😊👍
Sina, I watched you for the first time today, and you are Amazing! 🌟 Your sense of timing and internal metronome are awesome to watch 😮 I saw your msg at the start of Come Sail Away, so I immediately Subscribed.. I love supporting a beautiful talent like yours!
With a lot of dedication and hard work most people can become skilled in their profession however very few can rise to the top by differentiating themselves among the rest something this talented drummer has clearly demonstrated. This woman I believe has talent beyond her skills something I can't put my finger on but suffice it to say the ability to keep me very involved without my mind wandering from the beginning to the end of her videos!
thank you very much from Russian Siberia modest, clever, human, beautiful girl for the love of the good old rock, not only to him but to everything beautiful, and to life. To the right life. Unfortunately, any translation from Russian sometimes loses the meaning of what is said, and the meaning between the lines. But still I hope that you will understand !! With respect from the Russian hinterland Just a Man. P.S. Barefoot on the ground it deserves special respect, determination, courage and bravery, especially from a girl !! It's just a unique thing to do !! I wish you great further creative success, professional growth, well-deserved respect in the music field, joy in life and other girlish joys !!))
I saw John Bonham perform Moby Dick live. Had heard some buzz about a young drummer that was doing things with cover songs and some original work. Had to see for myself. Sina, you have the musical chops to have sat in with almost any classic rock group from the 60's and 70's. I am very impressed. Wish you well and hope you never lose your love of music.
I grew up listening to them then playing their music. A lot of people say it's easy to play; which for the most part it is; but there's just something about CCR that's just Fun to play it. You did a great job; and like I do; I switch to a classic grip instead of a match grip. It does seem easier to play CCR for some reason. Keep it up & I've been noticing a steady improvement in the video style and quality.
Immer wieder WOW. Macht ihr mal wieder was zusammen?? Du und Andrei und Andereaa. Echt klasse. Bitte !!! Achso toller Song. Danke, ein Fan von Euch Kids. Nee mal Ernst. Ihr hab es drauf. Das ist meine Jugend. Nochmal danke an Euch. L.G.: uwe
Fortunate Sun: excellent, wonderful, WUNDERBAR . Crisp, tight, very good. You have now discovered the amazingly simple secret that you can use in all rock songs (I do not mean the traditional hand grip, but something totally different.) You have reached a new level of drumming consciousness with the performance of this song. Congratulations, fraulein Sina. Let the secret be with you.
Sweet syncopation. Sina, I'm curious how different you find playing to a recording vs. a live band where there's a continuous musical conversation among the players. You have a real skill in making what you do sound so natural and musical.
This week Sina gives a short and very sweet performance. Gotta love those fills! Is it just me, or is Sina playing sharper and more authoritatively lately?
At fifty years old you've inspired me into getting into Drumming ,my house isn't big enough for a full kit ,so a smare,hi hat and bongos will have to do for now !! See your not just an inspiration to the young people of Deutschland your inspiring but us old fogies ( English slang for old and past it!!) Angela Merkel should be very proud of you ,your a German musical ambassador, not only your own skill but the constant promotion of young musicians around the world you do ,if Jayden Rylee doesn't become a Canadian star in the next few years there's something wrong ,and you helped get her out to a wider audience!! Well done and Danke
Impeccable, as usual. I noticed you switched to traditional grip. I am ready to see some outtakes if possible. I just love all your covers and your original stuff. Keep on trucking on as we used to say in the 60's.
Très très trrrrrès impressionnant, c'est tapé juste et bien: vraiment félicitations, Sina, tu es réellement une batteuse professionnelle, et une bonne!!!! Marc
How sweet was that. Yes, and giant shout out to the CCR pushers for this one. Old or new songs doesn't matter. You bring them to life with your passion, style and skill. We are the Fortunate one's when 'the team' takes these into your basement.
Prima - Sina!!
That just poured out."
From 1970 there was increasing dissent in the band as the other members felt it was becoming a one-man show for John Fogerty.
It’s way too late now."
Sunday, in most countries, is Fathers' Day. Share some music with your dad or, if you're a dad or grandad, check out what your kids and grandkids listen to. Music has to live and grow - particularly in these times. Stay safe and see you again next week!
Thanks Juliet and Rosanna, that sounds like quite a sad band history without a real happy end...
thank you for another great and informative write up
@@sina-drums You're welcome.
..And one more thing.. I'm not quite sure, but I have the feeling Sina is finding the time (or found it already) to read your message...Like Jimi Hendrix would say, sometime at the end of '69...."Who knows..."
Thanks a lot for sharing, so nice!!
King-O-Vetts - This was a great comment, looks like Sina appreciated it as well!
What?
I am smitten by this young German vixen! She has an amazing gift! She has such an incredible ability to absorb a song and play it back perfectly with such elegance and grace! Douglas Clifford is one of my idols as a drummer! He is like Ringo Starr,..he played the song and always gave it what it needed! His fills are legendaryt! SIna shows them proper respect, and then some! 😉
True! As if Sina crystallised the style needed. So pure and joy to listen to. Note, I always wondered about Dougie's trad left-hand grip. That was unsual in rock. Now, if Sina has exercised that grip too, there must be some magic there
I am proud to support Sina. She works hard and is humble and supportive of other young talents. What more can you ask for?
I am going to order a shirt and a coffee mug when they get them back in stock.
I emailed her merchandiser here in the US and asked if they offered a vinyl sticker of her logo
but no dice.

Slot of demonstrations And a ton of hippies, it was great
Agenst I
It also tells the story of the “millionaires’ sons” who, because of money & connections, were able to dodge the draft.
Steve Stills wrote "For What It's Worth" as a commentary on the Sunset Strip (Los Angeles) riots of 1967.

Got to love that Rock "N" Roll-- you done that VERY WELL !! Nice Job !! Love you on them DRUMS GIRL !!
As a Vietnam era veteran. That brought some memories back. Great Job Sina. CCR was never dull. Thanks.
The traditional grip gives way to keeping anchored on snare work and out of the way of traveling. The snare head was perfectly tuned as the original CCR composition.
This is one of the most powerful songs of the Vietnam era. Thanks for doing this.
This song actually has like a 1980's New Wave beat to it... in 1969. It's genius... 15 years ahead of its time.
@@Rep0007 no, it’s the sound of the late ‘60’s.
I know Sina switched grips, but her left hand is the star of this video. Mezmorizing.
Sounds of my youth!...Mahalo's Sina...Go Girl GO!!!
"lock and load" sounds different when they are telling you to do it....
Stop over-analyzing. Consider the performance from a musical standpoint. Seems as if she did a fine job on drums here...' nuff said. Sheesh!!
@@stevezweig5337
Looks like someone needs to learn the difference between "over-analyzing" and providing a little background information.
Even though I was already aware of the history of the song, I really appreciate Richard Pierce
sharing it with those that weren't already in the know.
THANKS RICHARD! 👍
Okay I see you’re a drum guru. Each video I watch just gets better and better! This is awesome. Keep on Rockin 🤘🏼
Yeah, I'd like to hear Sina do a drum cover of CCR's version of Good Golly Miss Molly (and of course, Born on the Bayou and other hits).
You go girl. You have made my morning by playing one of my favorite "air drumming" songs. This song bring by memories when I was in Parris Island in the summer of '68 and off to Nam in early '69.

Simply AWESOME drums !!!
Dang, dang, dang, girl, YOU ARE GOOD! I listen over and over!!!!
Craig P.
WOW!!!!, running out of ways to tell you how "INCREDIBLE" you are!!!!!
I had the same reply a year ago. For Reelz, how many ways can we tell this young lady how BadAss she really is. She makes my Friday's a little better every week. And it's APPRECIATED. Thank you Sina, for all you do.
Well, Ian Paice has done it, so here...it might be time for Doug Clifford to check in.

L.G.: uwe
Sina you are my favorite drummer. Keep it up Sina.
Amazing!
And John Fogerty is an amazing songwriter.
Very impressive playing of this classic Rock music song. I enjoy watching you play and must say that you have excellent taste in music
Sweet syncopation. Sina, I'm curious how different you find playing to a recording vs. a live band where there's a continuous musical conversation among the players. You have a real skill in making what you do sound so natural and musical.
Believe it was to get a 8-16 note in the pattern?
Have you seen some of the videos by a band that SINA is a part of called “The GAS” ? They are a phenomenal hard rock band that only plays originals.
This week Sina gives a short and very sweet performance. Gotta love those fills! Is it just me, or is Sina playing sharper and more authoritatively lately?
She has tuned the snare for this to fit in with the song and with a different grip to get that sound. A true pro
Ac Dc war machine pleade
Robert, I don’t remember her ever playing traditional, always match.
I agree. She’s really taking control and making the songs her own.
Ty máš srdíčko za co? 😭
At fifty years old you've inspired me into getting into Drumming ,my house isn't big enough for a full kit ,so a smare,hi hat and bongos will have to do for now !! See your not just an inspiration to the young people of Deutschland your inspiring but us old fogies ( English slang for old and past it!!)
Angela Merkel should be very proud of you ,your a German musical ambassador, not only your own skill but the constant promotion of young musicians around the world you do ,if Jayden Rylee doesn't become a Canadian star in the next few years there's something wrong ,and you helped get her out to a wider audience!! Well done and Danke
Thank you very much! It's a great gift for a father's day! Love you my dear Sina!
One of my all time favorites, Sina is like Cat Woman on the drums playing this ...Wowwww!!! Perfect Job Sina !
Impeccable, as usual. I noticed you switched to traditional grip. I am ready to see some outtakes if possible. I just love all your covers and your original stuff. Keep on trucking on as we used to say in the 60's.
Perhaps she's playing with traditional grip as a "tip of the hat" to Doug Clifford, drummer of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
She is so impressive to me by seeing her excellent performances.
The drum solo at the very end is really cool!
Hey Miss Victory! Good to see you again! Haven't seen your Panic at the Disco, but that's next on my list. Have an enjoyable weekend!
@@gregyancoskie5664 Thank you Greg!
@@NorbertTristan Yes, it's a great idea and a cool way to add to the song and performance!
Très très trrrrrès impressionnant, c'est tapé juste et bien: vraiment félicitations, Sina, tu es réellement une batteuse professionnelle, et une bonne!!!! Marc
Sina is queen of the drums she is beautiful a lady a woman of quality and she brings it to her music with heart and soul and talent amazing technique
How sweet was that. Yes, and giant shout out to the CCR pushers for this one. Old or new songs doesn't matter. You bring them to life with your passion, style and skill. We are the Fortunate one's when 'the team' takes these into your basement.
Prima - Sina!!
Every time I see one of your videos, I am completely blown away by your incredible talent!!
love this CCR song , wish my drummer could play like you
