I saw what was their reported last concert before disbanding. It was at the now defunct Knitting Factory in Hollywood. When they finished their first number, the addressed the news of their break up as something very amicable and planned - each had new directions and projects to pursue. Saying they had been creating music together for some 18 to 20 years, they announced that they had no set list for the evening. We were encouraged to call out any song from their entire history together and they would play it. So the audience called for any- and everything, jumping back and forth in chronology, form beginning to end. The moment a title was heard by them, they didn't pause or look at each other or fumble searching their memories - they just played and sang the song. Tight, together, in synch, on the money, powerful, in the moment, funny, and moving. I have never seen or heard anything like it. It was one of the most impressive displays of talent, professionalism, and craft I have ever witnessed. Their COMPLETE repertoire was ready and at their fingertips, instantly. Obviously, they had bothered to rehearse EVERYTHING. Mastery. I will not forget that night as long as I live. I'm pleased to learn they have re-formed the band.
I saw them on that tour in Fort Worth TX and they did pretty much the same thing. They opened with Time Bomb, then they played requests for the next 2 hours or so, and yeah, it fucking ruled.
They are all so in the pocket in this holy crap, the drummer is absolutely dialed in Wish the synth was louder in The City, that song gives me goosebumps 😭 Legendary band that skyrockets me back to being a teenager.
I love how right after the angriest, most depressing, most frustrated song on the set Travis just smiles and gives out a cheery "thank you! Y'all look nice!"
I was lucky enough to see The Dismemberment Plan live during their "Death and Dismemberment Tour" with Death Cab For Cutie back in the day. So happy to see them before they broke up (for the first time).
Travis can have trouble getting his voice into performance mode, but when he gets it it's explosive. Seriously time bomb is almost better than the album recording.
"don't blow it... don't woo out... at this gig, with the V.I.P.'s... hopefully you won't be doing this.." "Ooh, WHoaAOh!" Hahahahahhaaaa!!!!!! TRAVIS is the man! I've met him multiple times, since I live in Virginia, this dude has Mic control, and he's one of my favorite artists ever...
Frappy Daleks for me i really like all pre-uncanney valley albums, theyre all great to me, i havent listened to uncanney valley yet because it might disrupt my image of them but their albums take lives of their own for me
I love this band but my god this dude could work on his stage presence. It’s so bad. It kinda works with the vibe but I think he’d be better off leaving the sampler and just rocking the mic 🤷🏻♂️

powerful stuff. thanks for documenting that for us who couldnt be there / didnt know about the band then
They're amazing; I wish they made like 40 more albums.
They are all so in the pocket in this holy crap, the drummer is absolutely dialed in

Travis always seems so stoked to be alive.
until the jitters comes on
must be nice
at least someone is enjoying it.

Time Bomb is one of the most powerful songs I've heard in the past 20 years.
Amazingly talented band with so many memorable songs. Travis has so much charisma (and is such a cutie, of course). Wish they made 40 more albums.
Beautiful voice, hyper-super-duper drumming, sweet bass lines and just overall lovely melodies. What can one want more?

Jeez that's a match made in heaven
Change has become one of my favorite records in the past few years. It's so solid and awesome and their sound is so cool.

They're back!!
Got tickets to see them at The Atlantis in DC in September. Stoked.
100% heart all the time. Loved this band since the beginning 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love Time bomb
Glad they're back!

This goes without saying. p.s......
the drummer is sick.....
Legendary
SINCE YOUVE BEEN GONE
He’s like the Ben folds of post punk 😂
I agree 😂😍
Spot on
The band has the best rhythm section bar none.
the amount of neutrinos passing through them
In the description you made an error, the song is called Daddy Was a Real Good Dancer. Great video and everything, sorry to be a dick (:
Also Waiting is missing from the list
is this the show i was at in DC?
29:30❤
Travis should be Peter Parker in the Marvel movies!
10:11 ouch
Good old minor second
Nap-0 lmao
"i live in new york city now"
BAHAHAHAHAHA!
hmm
Their new stuff is weak... Very uninspired, their old stuff though. God. I'd pay to just see them perform The City
i agree. i feel like emergency and i is absolutely fantastic, but its their only good one :(
Frappy Daleks Change is awesome, Is Terrified is good, '!' is kinda okay and Uncanney Valley is weak.
Frappy Daleks for me i really like all pre-uncanney valley albums, theyre all great to me, i havent listened to uncanney valley yet because it might disrupt my image of them but their albums take lives of their own for me

Damn. Their old stuff is soooo mucn better. I know everyone must move on, but it so hurts to see your favorite bands turning into crap
Aren't these almost all old songs?

You Are Invited to Tom's Diner
Everything means nothing to me
Elliott Smith?

라이브는 많이 아쉽네
I really hope they can do better than this
Is this some kind of master race event? We try to avoid those as much as possible.
