The "throw the race" mechanic adds depth to the opponents, I like that.
also, may have them back in the parking lot. assuming if you beat them they're gone! so surely more money down the line (if you can beat them lol)
As of right now their main purpose it to ensure you don’t go bankrupt late game by losing. There is no point in losing on purpose, because even if you get offered more money to lose, it doesn’t offset you night rep multiplier.
What seems more worthwhile? Losing for 1,200,000Y or winning for 900,000Y x 3.00? I’ll take my 2,700,000Y please.

Just a tip when drag racing, you can do burnouts by holding both the accelerator and the brake , maximum tire temperature is 90° you can also install an rpm gauge on the dash, so yes you can have both rpm and speedometer.
The 200RS has 6th gear and a sunroof.
Power band is still faster than AI when you shift at 7500 and it saves your engine from overheating

you're right about the points multiplier , it should always be x1,smthing cause x0,smthing will reduce the amount of money you receive, but who cares
i think the multiplier works like this: u get the base rep and cash, then, you multiply that with the multiplier and that rep and cash gets added to your award from winning the race

It's probably additive for example you have 0.20 multiplier and you won 100 yen or whatever it calculates 100x0.20 then adds that to your 100 yen which makes 120 yen

yo idk if you know this yet but you can have a weak engine, as long as your cooling is good and you don't overheat in races- the whole point of engine strength is to penalize the player even at max upgrades, the higher you go the more maintenance your car needs. so you have more power, less strength- you're winning high reward races but in turn you're still having to spend big to rebuild your engine over and over. it's a pretty clever way to keep you on your toes money-wise even after u have max upgrades. super cool game can't wait to get the chaser in the full version
you can do both speedo and rpm. You just need to distinguish them at the customization screen.

Yo, my boy that race against that skyline and the whole entire time nailbiting felt the same way as soon as I saw you wiped or that turn he lost so much momentum. I’ve always got his guys got it. Oh ho ho ho.
You can do both. Gauges top can be RPM, you have to find it cuz it's not the first few ones.
My personal setup is gauges top RPM and steering colume speedometer.
Btw you can also change the front plate location, badge, antena and side markers.
For plate and badge, you have to select extirior customize, stand right in front of your bumper and check bottom right. There'll be a option to press F. Then you can adjust that.
Same for the antena and side markers. But for those you'll have to stand by the front fender and stare a bit above the highest opint of your tire. Check bottom right to see if the option to presss F shows up. Then you can adjust side markers and antena.
(Not sure if you know or not, the dev put an antena on your front right fender.)
I played this game for roghly 30 hours in total now, I recently just noticed these nice lil details.
Thank you Theo for the speedometer change and who knows gem may see the video and make some changes but absolutely love this game.
This is the first game I'm really excited about in ages. I just wish he could add the classic "look back" camera so that you can see the front of your car as well as you look back, not just from the inside
Throwing mechanic most likely appear in double or nothing run or in a big money bet.
In a nutshell, is saves our asses if we misclick the button when you double or nothing re-match or when we lose big money.
We still get a bit of money back even if we lose, if we assume we won the first race and lose in the double or nothing and if we lose the first match then yeah we still lose money nonetheless.
24:00 About the gauge, you have five spot to choose different type of gauge, two in the dashboard, one side pillars, one in the steering column, and one on the radio thingy. so you can choose what ever type of gauge and colors for each.
and you can adjust the looks of your car even more with removing some part of the exterior upgrades without loosing the downforce, so you can get the clean and plain looks of a car but it's fully upgraded to a prototype at the same times. For example, removing wings and hooks of the front or rear bumpers, side skirt, side light.
Just go to customize and exterior, look at the bumper in first person will give you the option. and this game is kinda lack of info for this kind of things.
Would be insane to have a damage system like pro Street ,having to repair to keep the money flowing.
I like that this game feels like a mashup/homage to TXR, early Midnight Club, and NFS Underground. All the customization (though some of it... kinda sucks), the different race types, the trash talk from other racers... but then subtle differences like car history, side bets/rep system, having no option to select manual or auto TM... this game looks awesome
I really hope that this game comes out for PS5 sooner or later!

Put the rpm gauge on the steering column and a speedo on the single gauge pod on the top left of the dash hood. That gets you both.
Panda bro, the offer for loss, is just a safety net at the end, you lose rep but mostly keep the money. Just always race for the win

You can do both gauges one has to be on steering wheel and other has to be on the dash to the left of the steering wheel make one of them a speedo and other rpm meter.

When you put your mouse over the tv in the garage it will say multiplayer but it’s not available yet
I dont see anyone explaining double or nothing. What it means, is you repeat the exact same bet and scenario. If you win it again, you essentially get double, the same payout twice from the original bet. If you lose, the 920k u won the 1st time, now goes back to him. Essentially he doesn't have to pay you for the first win or "nothing" if you will. That's double or nothing.

I like how game made with some amount of cars, and its not about to be car billionaire, so player more focused on choisen car and go along with it to its limits, which in final makes feeling of the game world more realistic
For me the calls like that in 13:35, are more of a safety net than actual bribe for loosing, also it could have been inteded like that given the fact that you loose rep but get more money by ~20%
if you loose the double or nothing you leave at ¥0 gained or lost but if you win you get ¥1,840,000 but if you take the offer at 13:27 and throw the double or nothing chance you only gain ¥460,000

Would be a great idea to balance the "throw", like have an objective to be 1st place for like 5 10 seconds and then lose, because I can just sit afk and get money for losing the race? If you don't do the objective and still lose, you ain't getting the throw money, ya get what I mean?

I think I hit the soft cap of the demo of the game, cuz I’m at the point now where every car I face has WAY faster acceleration than me. Like if the race has a long strait I’ll eventually catch them (I’m using the 200RS which has a 6th gear) but when we hit a corner I loose all chances of catching them again when they put their foot down. So it’s damn near impossible to win now.

You can get more money out of your opponents if you don’t up the bet to the max. Maxing out the bet they only increase by 30,000.
You may increase the bet 130k maximum otherwise they will reject
Normally a game has crappy cars for the AI to drive to and let you win. This Prologue makes you race your shitbox 200SX against 911´s and Skylines to give some hard difficulty :)

They need to add steering wheel, clutch, and shifter.
It shows in the results screen you lost your money but you actually didn’t. After it took the money it shows you had 5.4 mil but when you get back to your car you had 6.3 mil. Then he calls you and you got the additional 1.3 mil. Very confusing but I rewound multiple times and your money ahead. 😅
Also for gods sake you can have BOTH gages your just not going through the setting enough, just put the RPM gage on ur dash
