The director said that she doesn't care what art museum reviewers might think about this show. To her point: this does not look like an art museum, by any stretch of the imagination. It looks like a science museum.
Human happiness is living in the future...when we can dream forward, having hopes, expectations, when we know we can do things better and we can evolve.. never stop believe in human nature friends
Been planning to visit this for the last few months... this story just pushed me over the edge. Thanks for a great report. :)
We need more of these.
The innovations are fascinating to explore here. Great report!
The Future: People of Earth..... We're Here! *blows out candle*
"bray wyatt theme start playing"
This is a great sort of time portal that looks towards what the world could be like in the next century or so forth.
What is the piece of music featured in this story?
Thank you CBS for sharing the story.
I wonder if the Smithsonian still has all the skeletons of giants that they grabbed up in the early 1900s?
That looks like fun
i’ve been to this exhibit!
This is fascinating
I went there and it was very disappointing. BTW they are STILL working on fixing the building.
The Future is the only thing we all head to that never comes to, Fruition
Monica Montgomery that’s my friend!!!!!!!
It looks like the future is growing further from human interactions. That can't be a good thing.
Hate the word problematic. It was another time.
Amazing stuff and definitely gives hope! 👍🏻💕
Hello Susan how are you doing today how’s everything going?
cool
A building that's been dormant for 18 years reopens for 9 months only to close again. I don't get it.
The future is elysium where bezos and musk live on mars while the rest of us suffer and die from pollution and disease.
You talked about exhibits about the future done in world fairs and you didn't mention Futurama?
One day we will all have flying cars.
We already have flying cars...for years now. ICON, Terrafugia and many others
amazing. you cannot subscribe to this channel. amazing.
Interesting... Star Trek is what we want the future to look like... all bright and shiny..
But StarWars is what our reality will probably look like... everything is all dirty looking and dull brown and dark green.. and worn out looking... like going to a galactic junkyard and puting your spaceship. together from spareparts...and we all live in underground huts to save energy and to avoind radiation exposure frim the sun....and each other....
Sounds exciting doesnt it????....
I will remain a fan of SUNDAY MORNING forever but I was a little disappointed that David Pogue gave into the temptation of morning show personalities as brilliantly depicted by Cate Blanchett and Tyler Perry in "Don't Look Up." Everything is decidedly jokey in his responses to the items carefully curated for an exhibited about technology, intelligence, and FutureS. [sigh] I wish he hadn't taken that route because comedy isn't his strong suit. If I get slings and arrows for this comment I can take it. It was just a rare misfire for my favorite show.
We just want healthcare and high speed rail.
The future only applies to rich people.
The Hyperloop is a scam.
Need a museum that represents the REALITY that technology is enslaving us. And once again, Pogue, YOU ARE NOT FUNNY!
What's wrong with the reporter?
I don't want a self driving car at all. So take your pacifist fantasy and shove it.
'pacifist' ? Oh, you prefer Armageddon?
@@jjj1951 Do you know what pacifist means?
Art is for the rich...humans aren't entitled to Art..only if you have $$$ can you understand Art.......
I think that it is possible for people without money to understand art. There are many students who are Art Majors -- most of them have definite ideas about Art. But as far as being part of the art scene, you are correct. Art openings are attended by chi-chi members of the privileged class. People in expensive clothes drinking wine and laying their pretentiousness on each other. Invitation only.
Many museums do charge a hefty admission fee, but there are many free resources to learn about art. Blogs, websites, and RUclips videos (5-15 minute discussions, lectures, and documentaries). I’m happy to make recommendations for anybody interested in learning more about art. Also, if you visit Washington DC, several art museums have free admission (National Gallery of Art, Hirshhorn, The Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Portrait Gallery, National African Art Museum, National Asian Art Museum, outdoor art gardens), and several art museums are free in England (National Gallery, Victoria & Albert, Tate museums)
There’re many art openings which are free and for walk-in’s. These are at smaller galleries everywhere.
Max Linder your statement is beyond dumb.
@@lewstone5430 You are right about that. What I was talking about is the big, media-covered events that have limousines dropping off well-to-do socialites at the front door. Our local paper used to have a silly society page where there'd be photos of society folks standing around in small groups. Everyone would be identified below those photos. "Rupert Talmedge III and his lovely wife Gloriana Van Drexler"
This guy ruins CBS Sunday Morning...sorry.
