You guys are all free to comment your thoughts. Appreciate or criticise me, I will read them all with positive attitude. ☺️ Just one clarification, the reason I told him to not look down “Neeche Mat Dekhna” is because, when you look down in a flowing water body it creates an illusion that you are flowing as well. It is always advisable when crossing streams that you look forward so that you can see the shore or end point and focus. Aap neeche dekhoge toh bhi aapko gadde ya patthar nahi dikhenge. Also, I took time before jumping in so that I can reduce the weight and drag that my gears will create, main uske doob jaane ka wait nahi kar raha tha 😀.
Bro I feel that you handled the situation well, you were confident before that, agar kuch hoga to dekh lenge. You have taken a calculated risk, baki log nahi samajhenge ye
My father was an amazing explorer and motorcyclist, he have been to ladakh more than 15/20 times. He always says "water crossing main agar paani ke niche na dikhe to Himalaya ke nadi ko nala maat samjho. Its very powerful to drag you somewhere else and you can't do anything"
change your friend .. Looks like he dont have any idea about the sweeping power of flowing streams of Himalaya .. Even a feet of water is sufficient to carry away your bike .. Both of you should have analysed the depth of the water before jumping in .. Its good to see you guys safe at the end .. The truck guys are the real saviours ..
Absolutely... Atleast don't take directions from him anymore... It was clearly visible that the stream was too deep and fast flowing at that point... And u knew it too... But ur friends overconfidence almost got u killed 😕
Exactly..well mentioned and this very incident shows that these so called famouse vloggers, reviewers know nothing about the real life riding, such stupid decision from his friend could have costed this rider his life..!!
With a friend like this you don't need enemies... Hope you make wise decisions while making friends... All the best brother!! On the positive side.. this video is getting you a lot of views. Waiting for the next episode..
2 Rules for Ladakh Riders : 1. Don't challenge the Nature and don't take shortcuts (unknown, un-explored 'roads') unless you want 'Adventure of your life' literally. 2. Don't forget rule no.1 This was clearly dangerous waters (FYI not even a crossing on normal road-which have max depth 1 feet. But it was a goddarn roaring river on unknown territory which could be deep as 2-5 meters as well). Don't cross a water crossing where you can't see the base(most in Leh region are crystal clear). For muddy/opaque one, if there is no base visible, use a stick to gauge depth. Even if you are hell bound to clear this crossing, first try to walk across it carefully to check depth, instead of going head-on with a fully laden bike. Secondly, never take shortcuts in this region, in worst case , you might get lost and die due to extreme weather. To make things more difficult, air is very thin and cold there, you will lose your breath soon(happens to fairly acclimatized soldiers, BRO workers and athletes as well, imagine us normal people) We got stuck in a snow blizzard while riding bike (on a perfect sunny day!) that is how unpredictable the weather is. Also, travel between 6AM-5/6 PM window only. After that, it can become life threatening in case of any emergency. Land is barren , isolated and unforgiving. I was alone once and being stupid took a shortcut. Sand is as dangerous as water. It seems smooth path to connect to main road but bike got stuck 1/2feet in quick sand. There was nobody around for next 4-5 kms and weather was getting extreme. Only option I had was to abandon the bike but after spending 40-50 mins in chilled breeze and rain (unloading the bike, finding stones/wood to put under tyre, getting out and then again loading ). Since then, I have never taken shortcuts without estimating the risk-reward ratio. So, please go for those adventures only, which allow you to live and tell the story. Don't take stupid risks.
Long story short, trust the process (highways and paved roads), avoid the shortcuts. Now for years to come, this video will serve as a great reminder as what to not do when in Ladakh. Bike and gadgets can be repaired, grateful to God that you made it through without any physical injuries. Be safe man!
the confidence @Gagan Choudhary reflected before crossing over but chose to wait instead for you to do it first speaks volume. Raj, you now know your extreme limits and this will surely help some other time in future. keep riding.
This exactly. I ride with an younger rider, but I always decide to go first whenever I'm in doubt if a certain path is doable or not. His friend literally pushed him to do the work while he kept talking.
This is a shortcut route bypassing the bridge, truckers use it. 7 years ago we also mistakenly took it while returning to Kargil on our bikes. I was able to cross it but my fellow rider couldn't cross it and had his bike dropped in the river. We were also saved by those truckers. Had to load his bike and drive all the way to Kargil. Reached kargil past mid night. It was one crazy day of my mega one month long Himalayan Expedition.
I just came back from the same route a week ago and this crossing clearly wasn't required, there is a fine road that gets you to Padum. There is a fine difference between adventure and stupidity, and please don't post these videos to encourage more people into doing this. Achha content create karne k liye ye sab karne ki zarurat nahi. Stay safe and encourage people into being safe. Good luck.
Exactly what i was thinking, what's the fucking need to do this? You guys will go in to your homes, we have to live here. Road is for driving, water is for drinking, as simple as that, it should be common sense! I don't understand what this guy is trying to prove.

Coming to water crossing I appreciate u were calm and kept hold of your Dominar for sometime which did not drowned far. I believe you have strong willpower to handle such danger incident. YOU & YOUR DOMINAR DOMINATED THAT WATER CROSSING....Stay safe and have safe rides.....cheers...!!
I remember one incident. A small 20 meter bridge, height of that bridge is 2 meter or so... On monsoon time if it's heavy rain then water sometime over flows and goes above bridge and road on the bridge will be under water.. Since bridge had no side railing it was risky to travel on the bridge when overflow happens. 1 bus didn't care and went on that bridge but it went a side and fell. Lucky no one died, every one came aside..

6:06 the actual sound of fear of danger was nerve-wracking. Lesson to be learned: 1) follow your gut instinct or your voice inside your head. You mentioned 3 times that the river looked deep/risky. 2) do some initial checks before crossing. The girl had situational awareness and acted immediately. Kudos to her. Rather than rushing to help, the other guy was removing his jacket while you were being swept/drowning!

I stepped down most of the times and moved inside the streams to check the water level. If it was around knees with manageable flow I gave it a chance.Second option I had was to follow the tyre marking of truck or pickup vehicle of locals se they know these path well.

I was working on that Rangdum to Padum road project. It was such a blessed opportunity. Come next year and you will see the proper pitch road. And that tipper belongs to our company. This time due to snow melting water flow is very high, We used to cross it with 4 wheeler 😀. You should continue your Zanskar journey, it's worth it. 👍
Nature is teaching a biggest lesson here. Our instinct is always right trust me. But we dont listen to it because its voice is very subtle and low. There has been many incidents where i failed to listen to my instinct has cost me damage. Recently my instinct was trying to stopping me from going on ride but i still went due to rider friend with me (peer pressure) and boom accident happened, got hit on the knee and calves. 7 weeks and still recovering. Lesson NEVER IGNORE THE VOICE OF YOUR INSTINCT.
The crux: Don't underestimate the nature/mountains. Always make sure you have a local guide or backup team. Many tourists die in Ladakh while searching for similar adventure. The water streams are icy cold, coming directly from glaciers, which will numb the body, leaving body useless. The technique to cross rivulet was wrong, should be diagonal towards flow. If there is doubt, leave it out. You can first remove the pants and walk across the river with hands in hands to give support to each other. Of floor is ok, and recce is done, you are good to go.
Never do adventure without calculating risks. Nature is wild as it was. You don't have to challenge your luck to know you are alive this very moment. You don't know what will happen next. Respect the mother nature.
Oh God , it was very dangerous, good that u got out with out any injuries, double, tripple check before you cross rivers, ride safe and takecare , everything will be ok ✌️

But guys, take care and have safe rides... 🎉
Thnks 2 truck driver bro🙏🙏🙏
I was working on that Rangdum to Padum road project. It was such a blessed opportunity. Come next year and you will see the proper pitch road. And that tipper belongs to our company. This time due to snow melting water flow is very high, We used to cross it with 4 wheeler 😀. You should continue your Zanskar journey, it's worth it. 👍
Thanks brother 🙏
Salute for doing work in such extreme conditions!
wow such a great video i never seen in my life
Thanks brother 🙏
Nature is teaching a biggest lesson here. Our instinct is always right trust me. But we dont listen to it because its voice is very subtle and low. There has been many incidents where i failed to listen to my instinct has cost me damage. Recently my instinct was trying to stopping me from going on ride but i still went due to rider friend with me (peer pressure) and boom accident happened, got hit on the knee and calves. 7 weeks and still recovering. Lesson NEVER IGNORE THE VOICE OF YOUR INSTINCT.
Thanks God you're safe..baki ka vedio kab ayega Bhai?
The crux: Don't underestimate the nature/mountains.
Always make sure you have a local guide or backup team.
Many tourists die in Ladakh while searching for similar adventure.
The water streams are icy cold, coming directly from glaciers, which will numb the body, leaving body useless.
The technique to cross rivulet was wrong, should be diagonal towards flow.
If there is doubt, leave it out. You can first remove the pants and walk across the river with hands in hands to give support to each other. Of floor is ok, and recce is done, you are good to go.
Bai dekhne mai river choti aur kam lagi ti hai par Inka bahaw bhaut speed hoti hai kabi bi risk nahi lena chaye ..
Never do adventure without calculating risks. Nature is wild as it was. You don't have to challenge your luck to know you are alive this very moment. You don't know what will happen next. Respect the mother nature.
Can not believe. Gagan chaudhary jaise auto expert or samjhdar aadami ke sath hone par bhi aisi situation bani. Thanks for the awareness.
Bhai rone ki halat ho gyi thi tumhari pr koi baat ni bhai
Aishi galti se sikh k dobara aishi galti nhi hogi👍

But he didn't go through it, instead pushed his friend into the river as bait
