Monty was a track owner and car builder for many years. I remember meeting him around 1974.He is the reason i started building wire and brass chassis back in the day. (His were always ahead of there time and a work of art. Monty always signed his Big "O".
If you ever come across an XTC racing chassis its one of mine, thanks to Monty!
RIP my brother you will be missed.

Monty was at every USRA SoCal race that I every attended back in the late 80's and early 90's. Definitely a fixture of the USRA slot car scene in southern California and Arizona. He was a Yoda of his time. The guy Monty is talking to is Jerry Johnson an icon/god from Arizona slot car racing.

I think my first Readybto Run wing car was an M&M built by Monty.

Hey Mick, can you do a tutorial on how to stay on the track in the heat of the race ?

@Gravitylegend That would be an excellent "How-to" video! A real quick tip would be to try focusing on just your car and not racing others and just make laps. The hardest thing to control is the adrenalin flow you get while racing and that does take practice. Their are many other things I can tell you but really you can not think of to many things while you are racing in a weekly or a larger USRA race. Just practice to were your driving becomes automatic.
    Good Luck!
