To everybody concerned, this version is not aimed to provide the best speed. This is a replacement to your typical household Huawei B535 or ZTE MF286 which are also LTE 6 routers, let me tell you that both are bad (I have both, used both, hate both). Chateau LTE6 is simply a competitor to them, while offering way more functionality if needed. Most users who buy Mobile Data plans might never see a web interface of their router and that is fine. This Chateau LTE6 will offer that. But small % want to play around with their device and learn more, they will be limited on competitors’ devices in the same price bracket. I am not a Mikrotik fanboy, hated it months ago (old devices at work), but I have changed my mind when I played with RouterOS. I am waiting for Chateau 5G AX to be back in stock, for now I am using hap AC2 while having my old Samsung Note 9 connected to it via USB (Samsung has LTE18 modem). Compared to around 60MB/s DL on Huawei B535, I am getting 140MB/s with HAP AC 2 with Samsung as LTE modem (show me a device other than Mikrotik that can do the same!), while running WireGuard tunnel to another MikroTik on VPS, so I can fully bypass CGNAT and access my network remotely. I have not found anything that can come close to allowing this, as I have full control over my network. Chateau LTE6 will allow the same for people who want control, but for way cheaper price comparing to Chateau 5G AX. Not everyone cares for maximizing their download from a cell tower, so Chateau LTE 6 will be fine for target audience.
And I believe , for Home users, mikrotik default UI is quite tough , but on other sites , it makes you learn more about basic networking and principal , but I believe to capture consumer market mikrotik need to work on their UI to make easy for home users 😄😅 that's my opinion .....
I've tried these. They're not that great, tbh. The 12 has some cool features that aren't available in the 6. In the end though, the LTE6 is slower than simple Netgear hotspot.
To be clear 300 Mbps is overkill , if you have true 50 megs it's more than enough in 2023 , for most of the purpose...... But having 300 megs is always a good speed to have......
256MB ram. 16MB storage. So it won't be able to run on a new wireless stack. But why? Are you going to improve old wifi stack then? Like adding WPA3 or frame protection?
I request the mikrotik team to work on their POE adaptor , if any wrong configuration happens , to do a Hard reset , we have put down the wireless equipment ....... Please add the reset button on Poe adaptor
What I find weird about this one, is that the version that works with US carriers came out before it. Either way, I want to see some US-compatible LTE-18 equipment!
Well, this is a hard sell. Usually mobile operators choose some dirt cheap and lockdownable like ZTE or Huawei, and most users are fine with that’s since it’s gets them online. The only segments I see it as sellable is prosumers and enterprise edge/small branch vpn/gateway.
Recently, I've received from my ISP a modem/router/ap which is locked down and I'm not allowed to log-in. I'm not allowed to even change the WiFi password!
maybe before designing new stuff that nobody needs, make sure you can deliver other products first. Like the RBS53UG-M-5AX2AX-5G for example which has already been announced for several months but still is not available in the EU, let alone anywhere else..
@@mikrotik so are you going to give a useful answer or just keep deleting my comments with the question where according to you it is available in the EU and with names of European shops where I have checked that it is unavailable?
We have not deleted a single comment :D My guess is you have some problems with the internet. Here is a link: linitx.com/product/MikroTik-Chateau-5G-ax-WiFi-6-Mobile-Access-Point-Router-S53UG+M-5HaxD2HaxD-TC+RG502Q-EA/17191
@@mikrotik ah yes, so 2 comments magicaly disapeared, comments made from 2 different internet providers btw.. Have you even checked the linitx price? The price excl VAT is 100Eur more than the incl VAT of a normal reseller/shop, not to mention that it is not an EU shop since BREXIT the UK has not been part of the EU anymore and import taxes apply. Same thing goes for the RB5009UPr+S+IN. Every product announced in the last year is not available for purchase and has massive backorders. Yes there was a chip shortage last year but that has been resolved for several months now and even during the chip shortage when you knew you could not deliver the products announced you kept announcing new products.
Yeah, the default routers could be better. The features suck. The problem with mobile is that the upload is ... BAD. But let's see the marketing part. 4 cores ARM? Expected. Gigabit ports, ok... If I get my phone out right now, I have plenty, I'm not buying mikrotik to save money! You don't need to tell me what's enough for me. I don't need to trust you. May be good in 2023 but you don't know about the future, I'm not buying a mikrotik for NOW only... So speeds seem to double with carrier aggregation... Thanks, pass. NEXT!

This could be a fair comment if we didn't also have more powerful and advanced routers than this particular LTE6 version. We try to cover a variety of usecases and situations.
In all fairness, no company except maybe those with their hands in the development of the standards can really predict what the future is gonna hold. So taking your entire argument into account, you shouldn't buy anything really because it might just be outdated again next year.
Why do you not support LTE Band 32 in your CAT6 devices?

B535 supports LTE Cat7, so it's a bit better in the upload range but otherwise very nice comment.

Any plans to release to release 5G router with 4 by 4 MIMO using external antennas like on Teltonika 5G gateways?

For you guys who lived in big city, maybe this one is a piece of trash. But for developing country with many rural areas, this is the gemstone.
@@andersonfrans I've been deploying them for remote rural workers. We had to switch back to Netgear devices.

no inbuilt SIP with any FXS port, not any use in Australia
still lacking a com port tho
