Nice work. The distressed jeans was a nice touch. As they say in Auto painting it’s 90% prep and sanding 10% paint. You did well in prep which made for a nice clean model. Impressive.
There is nothing to say ... a great and perfect job and with all the details. It is unfortunate that someone still does not like it, it is the perfect replica of the incredible Hulk, better than the toys sold in stores. God bless your hands! Aloha, my friend!
Been painting figures for a good while and usually the best way to achieve shading with the least effort is to undercoat black, then basecoat in a colour too dark then ink then hi light. This is the method I use when airbrushing tanks.
Wow this is great. No way this is your first airbrushing project, its too good.Ha ha ha.I love that his shorts are real material ,some people dont like mixed materials on statues but I think it's the best.Im making a predator bust myself and this project has given me alot of motivation for it.I only hope it will turn out as good as your project.
@@FilamentForge yes it will be about 20 inches high with a custom jungle diorama base on top of a custom predator style armor base.It will be my first ever bust and first time working with 3d printed materials.Do you have any hints and tips?
This is really good! Looks awesome with the pants. After your first green coat i was not sure about the color but with the shading added, it's perfect!
thanks for the comment....I know what you mean with the first colour air brush paint is a bit deceptive the colour changes when you apply more coats didn't know what to expect really.
£16 which I think its worth it but 60-70$ I don't think I would pay that also found it on amazon for £13.99 here's a link just encase you've found the wrong one www.amazon.co.uk/Aerosol-Primer-sanding-economical-repair/dp/B01MS9Q49Z/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1510890097&sr=8-13&keywords=u-pol+primer
Awesome statue. It will not be easy to clean the surface of the fdm printer's output. I am working on resin printers mainly because I am working small and precise. I want to try the fdm printer for big work later. Thank you.
@@FilamentForge good job man looks solid. I'm no master painter or anything but I do wounder how it would look with some black wash applied to really make the raised muscle pop and add some shadow. Again great job man I've never airbrushed before you made it look easy to pick up so I think I'll have a go :)
Really great job,but for me the skin needs a lot more work, which I think would be better if you added texture as it still has some what of a plastic look to the overall finish. There are some great tutorials on RUclips. I have seen some where they use something like a toothbrush to speckle different colours,to give a very realistic skin texture. I don't mean to be negative,I just think that you could make the model look even better. I was really impressed with the way you made his jeans though,it is so much better than a painted version. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing more of your work. And thanks for sharing this.
thanks for the comment I know what you mean with the plastic look and in my research before painting him I found a RUclipsr that airbrushes huge hulk models and uses the toothbrush effect I was thinking of weathering him with some watered down black paint but I guess I didn't what to mess up what I had all ready done. cheers
Awesome..very brilliant job n skills that i dont have :p .....I don't mean to be negative...get orignal statue u will get idea what is missing ....everything is ok but plastic look not suit that beautiful statue...in my opinion just give little extra detailing n this statue will best ever....once again very wonderful work :)
I'd be too nervous just trusting glue to hold together a part with no pegs. If it drops or falls it could come apart. A good thing to join parts like that with pla is some kind of solvent cement like Weld-On. It welds plastic parts together for a super strong joint.
Truly the best thing you have done in this channel. Keep up the good work and never let the small things stop you from reaching your dreams. (edit) you also earned a sub
Awesome job… turned out great… a few little tips that might help next time… try doing the darker colors first .. darker colors will show through the lighter colors.. say your doing this hulk.. do the darkest green first as your low lights or shadows as you were calling it… also this one is a great tip… when airbrushing.. instead of masking tap.. try using silly putty .. you can get it very tight spots and it comes off easy without pulling off fresh paint …..still not bad… I’m doing a Hulk buster that’s 18 inches tall as we speak right now…
I've used the masking tape pattern for clothes before, and it does work, though in the years I've become more proficient with my 3d modeling I now use the UV profile directly off the model so I can get those nice little details transferred over in perfect scale. One great tool that makes this easy, and it's free, is LithUnwrap. There's a paid version too though I'm not sure it's still supported or updated. At any rate, you can take your model into that, highlight whatever chunk you want (or all of it) and export the UV as an image file just as you would for texturing. Works a treat for clothing patterns too!
Wow! Great work! Nevermind my question, guessed at the name of the filler and got it right. Isopon. Very cool. Definitely getting some of that. Thanks for the video!
Filament Forge In the US. Closest place that sells it is over 100 miles away. Bondo is the more common name of it here so I’ll pick up some of that. Thanks!
A good sanding tip is to glue sandpaper onto a pencil or even bamboo skewer for a cheap disposable tool a couple dabs of ca glue at the ends that begin and end the sanding cycle, even gluing old spent paper onto new stuff can give you a firmer/ thicker paper for tricky spots. I really enjoyed this video thanks mate
You did REALLY good for what I think you said was your first airbrushing. I think the face needs a good bit of work still (especially the teeth) and the skin still needs just a bit of work. But it's still pretty awesome. (especially the pants)
Looks awesome! Great job buddy! Could I make one suggestion though? Any time you do any type of painting try to wear rubber gloves to handle the object to be painted. Keeps any grease from your hands contaminating the areas to be painted. Kudos on a job well done though.
NICE WORK, CONGRATS ON HAVING THE PATIENCE TO SIT THROUGH THE PRINT PROCESS. BEING ITS YOUR FIRST TIME AIR BRUSHING, CAN YOU GIVE A REVIEW ON THE ONE YOU USED? THUMBS UP.
Excellent job! The results were incredible and it totally worth the time spent! I think the best part of this projects it is exactly the process itself. Could you please give us more details about your 3d printer? Whats the model, where we can find, this kind of stuff?
Great job. I however, have some recommendations; not to be mistaken as complaints. On the paintjob, to get a more realistic appearance start with that shade you had used first. Next adjust your airbrush to give a more sloppy/ freckle-like texture rather than a smooth transition. Use the other colors you have to add that freckle-like texture. Be sure not to mask the overall base color. After dried, take the base color and darken the tone by adding blacks. Use this darker paint around the edges and indents. Gradually darken the paint to your liking. I do believe that you however, believe that you did a fantastic job on the denim part.
That was awesome. So much detail that it left me flabbergasted. Can you share the music you played throughout the video? I tried looking it up at the link but didn't know the name of the music. Thanks and look forward to more.
just to help you out a bit your 2nd color should've been your 1st, and the 3rd should've been the shadowing, and the 1st color you picked should've been your last which would've been the muscle high lights to give the muscle's a better stretched look and then when you get really good at air brushing you'll learn how to add the dares colors first then add color speckles brown, blue, red, purple, yellow and white over the painted piece you add realistic skin pores and skin texture into it but it takes practice it would've came out really really hot toys like quality trust me Ive been painting and hand sculpting for yours just fucking around. if you added dark green highlights to the hair it would've looked more natural and I would've went with a belt just a pure waist ripped look and if you made eyes and drilled a whole in the mouth and sculpted it the face and the whole piece would've came out nice but good try we all had to start somewhere
Thank you so much for posting this. I collect statues as a hobby and was wondering how companies likes SS and Prime 1 make their statues? Really appreciate, thank you!

BTW awesome job here mate, if i'm being honest you might wanna practice more with the eyes and teeth but other than that, this is awesome, and NOTHING like what i could have done lol

TRIGGERED
I should of put a trigger warning in the video now I'm triggered that your triggered cheers
Watching those bottles wander over the table by themselves is almost more fascinating than watching the painting process, lol.
the best part is when the compressor kicks in and makes the stuff on the table "dance"
Everything was done perfectly, the detail of the pants was great idea. Impressive 😊
Very nice job. The print looked great and the paint for a first time at the airbrush, is very good!
Super great tip on the masking tape around the seam lines.
saves on a lot of sanding cheers

BTW that primer seems to be doing an awesome job. How expensive is it in your country? If I get that on Amazon it's around 60-70 us$ ...

I had the right one but I'm in Canada and they don't ship here. The primer I have is doing a okay job, but yours seems to cover much better.
that's a shame because its a really good primer goes on thick does a good job at hiding layer lines
