Trey never had a chance to play with. Kittle, or Mccafery and others. Purdy is a slightly above average QB and is in a friendly QB system with weapons EVERYWHERE. Trey has more talent then Jimmy and Purdy combined, the niners are responsible to give Trey a true chance to develop that talent.
@@johnb6546 that’s in your professional opinion evaluating QBs? I will give you mine. Did he say Steve Young had a short career? Define short career in the NFL. Steve Young was drafted in 1984 and he retired in 2000. Joe Montana also played for 16 seasons. The average career for an NFL quarterback is 3 years. I am not sure 16 years in the NFL is a short career.
@@markroberts6926 Walsh was switching between him and Joe in 88, he was getting his shot, just, well, it's difficult to beat out Joe Montana, and even when he did get to start in 92, it was still because Joe was hurt
Trey isn’t busy. As many games he’s played, many of his peers wouldn’t shine as well. But his ceiling can be very high and the 49ers would not get a high of a pick had they not made the offer. Trey would be a first pick last year or next year. Give him the opportunity and let him grow. This kid has something about him that feels right
The dream of Quest for Six is still on as the 49ers get ready for a hard-fought battle against the Commanders on this Saturday at home. We expect the Niners defense will continue to squeeze the life out of its next opponent by group of savage Niners pass rush on Taylor Heinicke on game day. Purdy has passed the challenge with flying colors by successfully delivering consecutive victories through three games with impressive executions. He is the lifesaver, and he has changed the Niners' fortunes this season by helping the team clinching the NFC West title last week. His impressive performance has given the 49ers some reassurances about the team continuous success in the future as the surefire starting quarterback next year if he continues to play well enough to eliminate the need to compete with Lance. Purdy is the future, and the future is now. We have to embrace it at this very moment. Both Kaepernick and Jimmy G each got their shots in the Super Bowl contest, but they came home empty-handed. Now it is Purdy 's turn to take the long-awaited Lombardi trophy home from Glendale, Arizona to fans in the Bay Area. Many 49ers quarterbacks have failed to follow in the footsteps of Montana and Young by successfully bringing home the number six trophy home since 1995, will Purdy delivery this time in next February? He can do magic with so many weapons on offense, plus full support from the best defense in the league. How can he fail?
I’ve never understood the obsession with “comeback wins” most of the time it just means you played poorly for a couple quarters to put the team in that positions.
there are a few different styles to play calling most teams will play different in response to what their opponents are doin. if you have a run heavy playbook, and it gets shut down... can your qb step up? if your qb is used to slants and screens, and that shit just isnt workin, can he see the open field and play the defense? these things matter to "finish" games. some players can handle a playbook and execute called perfectly, some players (like Mannining) can see/create opportunities. not guarenteed to ake you win, but it's something people want in a qb
It may be far fetched… but MAN I hope Brock Purdy turns out to be the next Tom Brady! (The last QB picked who can help win more than a couple Super Bowls with his team) The 49ers trading a plethora of 1sts is similar to the Patriots who had made Drew Bledsoe the highest paid QB at the time, where both teams both lost a Super Bowl prior to their arrival!!
I don't see them moving any players for draft picks. 49ers have 6 picks in next year's draft because 49er coaches were snatched for HC, OC, or DC jobs on new teams. 49ers might lose Ryans to a HC job next year which would give them an addition 3rd round pick (hope he stays one more year). They received a couple compensatory picks for these coaches. Yes, they are 3rd round and higher. Even better! 49ers need cap space to make Bosa the highest paid Edge Rusher in the game next year. Will they resign BA? Well, they don't have to budget for 1st & 2nd round draft picks ($$$$). All their picks will be significantly cheaper being 3rd, 5th, and 7th round picks. And they have two QBs on rookie contracts. John and Kyle have no issues finding talent in the 3rd round or higher. Kittle - 5th, Huff - 5th, Mitchell - 6th, Purdy - 7th, and Mason - undrafted are proof the 49er will find talent in later rounds. At this point, the 49ers are stacked with stars. All they need out of next year's draft is depth. Others will heal from season ending injuries in 2022. 2023 looks very bright for the 49ers roster.
Right. So few reporters mention the 5 2022 compensatory draft picks, how impactful they are and how it’s part of the 49ers strategy. The media keeps going on about DeMeco Ryans getting a head coaching job, but they leave out how impactful that is for their draft and the moves they can make. I know if someone gets a GM job then they get a 3rd round pick, but I don’t know the staff under Lynch.
@@pgdog888 Great point! They definitely could, but my opinion that would be a smack in his face. The tag would land him big millions, but I'm sure he wants and earned to be the highest paid DL in the game with a multi-year contract. But I could be wrong!
Ryans is definitely gone. Maybe to Denver because don't think Nathaniel can "Hackett" as head coach. I'm sure that he would love to coach a team with a defense like that and he would build and offense that plays to the strength.
Purdy has shown much more than Lance while facing better competition even. Lance looked average against the lowly Texans. The game has appeared to be too fast for Lance. His inaccuracy isn't a mechanics problem. He's erratic everywhere. That is the sign of a guy that is mentally rushing himself.
Or to the Seahawks. Geno Smith has had a nice-year, but I'm sure Pete Carroll would rather have Jimmy G if for no reason other than the revenge-factor. The Patriots would not be a bad-idea either. Jimmy G has a nice table set in front of him. Humility pays off in the end.
SIGN Brady and PURDY as QB 2, trade LANCE. With Bradys superbowl experience: 7rings, and love for 49ers, he will definitely bring #6 . He has the heart of a champion. He's been there many times. Kyle must not commit the same mistake as 2020, he even admitted 2 weeks ago.
We all age, even Brady. Folks talking like he's 35 not 45. Sorry, time for Tom to retire. with all the great young QB's in the league, stop pretending Brady's still got at least one more ring to get.
And that's why we will not win the Superbowl if Shanny doesn't do what's best for the team not his arrogance and . Brady is a proven winner, sign him for a year. Tampa is trying to make him look bad, so he'll have no options and stay with them. PURDY can learn a lot from him
Tom Brady makes sense for the 49ers if 2 things happen - Brock slides downhill in the latter games this season or in the playoffs, and Tom takes a hometown discount. Jimmy is gone, Trey isn’t ready, so Big Cock Brock is the question mark. If he continues to ball, it’s him and Trey in 2023 and we invest elsewhere. If not, say goodbye to Himmy, and keep Brock and Trey, and take Tom on a 2-year deal to get immediate production and coach up the youngins.
I wanna take it one game at a time for Brock. As we saw, the Niners have had some unfortunate bad luck with their QB1's this season, but I do hope Brock becomes that Brady story in due time. He's balling out so far, and there's no hiding that fact.
I might be on an island here but I think Jimmy goes to Miami next year. With Hill and Waddle he'll have no problem throwing down field and Gronk will come out of retirement to join the party..
The niners can play from behind...a quarter back isnt the only factor....they have the best def in nfl. The second half often belongs to the better defense and tougher O- line...the niners usually have both.
Only the treylusionals think there's a dilemma. Brock Purdy QB1. EDIT: "They ran Trey inside because he can't get outside" Omg it's worst than I thougt...
@@binoharris8010 you’re right, people are wrong to compare Trey to Purdy on his 4 starts, we should wait until Purdy has 4 starts so we can compare them on equal footing
The other thing about Newton is he didn't get nearly the protection from officials he should have. Yes, once he becomes a ball carrier, all bets are off. But Cam took hits in the pocket he never should have been subjected to.
Brady isn't part of the 49ers and won't be going there either. It just seems very likely that Purdy and Trey Lance will be fighting the job next season.
DJ might be a backup, but its undeniable this was his best season since his rookie year. The story of the 2022 NY Giants will be how important a good coaching staff, a good front office, and an overall good culture is to a team, because this team on paper should not be making the playoffs. Our best receivers all either got hurt, checked out, or both. Our defense is depleted in the secondary. Our O-line is only halfway decent. If joe Judge and David Gettleman were still here we would have three wins AT BEST.
See how media people talk. I need to see if Brock can come back from a 14 points down. But what if the defense never lets that happen then what. It’s not Brock’s fault the 49ers have the #1 defense.
Its going to happen eventually, lets hope not in the post season, but it’s inevitable. In any case, when it does happen, with his poise, I’m willing to bet he will be excellent at it, he’s already shown to be effective at the end of halves.
Trade lance for draft picks to a owner like Dan Snyder that way he can sell the team with a Russell Wilson type player that way 49ers can get some picks back....
Russell Wilson type player? You mean an inaccurate and injury prone player that has only played one season out the last 5? Someone that never had to run the 2 minute or 4 minute offense playing bottom tiered teams in college?
How this video is marketed: Watch Colin interview Mike Silver on Purdy, Lance, and Brady! What this video actually is: Colin talking 90% of the time, repeating what he says on TV every 30 seconds, forgetting to credit Nick Wright along the way, and 10% of Silver trying to get a god damn word in because not even he expected to just sit there and listen to this guy for 45 minutes.
The reason the offense has taken off is that Brock can roll out while Jimmy can’t. This masks the deficiencies on the offensive line and opens up the playbook. Brady and Jimmy are statues.
Keep The 2 Young Players In Purdy And Lance Let Them Both Compete For Starting QB ... Jimmy G Will Walk And End Up Somewhere Elese With A New Team Due To Circumastamces ... Forget About Tom Brady Let Him Retire As He Should ...
Trey Lance is still QB1 but there should be a legitimate competition in the off-season between Lance and Purdy. Lance needs to really up his game to win it but I think he does
I don’t think the niners are moving players. Moving Jimmie ward wouldn’t help because he’s a free agent after this season. Moving Trey wouldn’t get you anything cuz he’s didn’t prove that he’s worth anything. Lance should stay, niners qb never can stay healthy anyways. Two qbs under a rookie deal will improve the team even more. If they niners win a sb with Purdy no point in getting Brady, pay for a skills player.
So forget tht fact that Kyle said he wanted a guy that "could run like Lamar Jackson and pass like Drew Brees"... Very accurate description is Mac Jones. Trey may not be that but he is a closer fit. So trunk to bury him like he played for 5 years
STOP!!!! Saying Kyle Shanahan wanted Mac Jones.... Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch said, the media said they wanted Mac Jones and they never corrected anyone or never commented so people would not know who they planned to draft, I still see multiple people in media talk about Mac Jones and the Niners.... that was never a thing.

As 49ers fan, I don't need to see Purdy coming back from behind to win games. All I need is him to play the way he is playing, and the rest of the team to play the way they are playing. Period.
This situation with new weakly task for Brock is exhausting. Just 3 weeks ago all you guys said was "just wait for the film, just wait for the film to be out", now 3 weeks later you kind of trying to figure out if Brock is super start. It doesn't feel like you are good at the analytical part of your jobs. 🤣
Brock Purdy is proving how insane it would have been to trade up so much to draft McCorkle Jones.
It is so wild they have so much negativity to say about a player who hasn’t played since week 2!
Whats the negativity?
@@franciscopacobarreras9270 He’s talking about all the obvious Trey hate and it’s obvious. Lots of so called Fans hate Trey and it makes no sense, he had played only 4 games!
@@johnb6546 there is no Trey hate, just because your evaluation of that WB isn’t favorable it’s not hate. Trey has been a big let down so far, and he cost us dearly. You’re right, that we can’t compare him to Purdy given his 4 starts…… we should wait until Purdy gets 4 starts so we can compare them on equal starts.
@@franciscopacobarreras9270 You can’t compare Trey and Purdy. The niners have all their weapons right now (Debo just got hurt) that Purdy has been able to play with.
Trey has poor footwork, his feet are regularly in the wrong place which affects his timing, accuracy, and of course consistency. His mechanics are weak (at best) he sticks with his presnap read which forces him into mistakes and second guessing himself, his short to intermediate accuracy is not good (feet) his timing is not good (feet and reads) yea, he’s surely an athletic player, but, at this point in time he certainly is not as good a QUARTEBACK as either Garoppolo, and much less Purdy. Purdy is accurate, smart, understands defenses, processes faster, has excellent footwork and mechanics, has enough arm to make all the throws, and is sneaky athletic, and his intangibles are off the charts. It has very little to do with Kittle or CMC, his film is excellent. Please speak FOOTBALL
Trey Lance only threw 318 passes in college compared to 1461 passes for Brock Purdy.
Hmmm so all a young player needs to look like a 5 year NFL vet is play all 4 years in colllege….. who knew it was that easy?!
Yea that one seemed weird for me too.
I don't think Steve Young got a serious chance to play until his early 30s..
he was labeled a bust and ran off his 1st team early.
Think when they say that it's because Steve didn't play long as a starter and had to retire early.
@@markroberts6926 Walsh was switching between him and Joe in 88, he was getting his shot, just, well, it's difficult to beat out Joe Montana, and even when he did get to start in 92, it was still because Joe was hurt
@@johncummings4917 I thought so too
I hope Brock Purdy continues to play great. 49ers need a super bowl win!
Have a quarterback competion next season. The better quarterback gets the starting job.
Steve Young played for 15 seasons in the NFL and one in USFL. Not exactly a short career.
And he only won 1 super bowl, while Montana won 4.
forget draft picks. keep these players for as long as you can. why trade them for someone who maybe can be great when you already have a great player?
That makes me laugh when someone says you can’t win the big one with Jimmy. Every year there is a winner and a loser in Super Bowl
Can someone send Mike and podcast mic?
Why can't we just enjoy the Brock Purdy ride? As long as he keep stacking up the W's who cares about anything else.
The media is going to media
Trey knocked somebody’s daughter and bounced😂, lifelong vendetta activated. Mike backpedaling bc TB12 put him in timeout😂
Let’s get real, every daughter has been smashed and dashed hundreds of times these days.
Awesome interview Colin
Why are we even talking about next year, when we are on the verge of possibly winning the Super Bowl. 😂😂
You get on them for talking about next year. You talking super bowl and the season isn't over and the playoffs haven't even started yet 🤦🏿♂️
Trey isn’t busy. As many games he’s played, many of his peers wouldn’t shine as well. But his ceiling can be very high and the 49ers would not get a high of a pick had they not made the offer. Trey would be a first pick last year or next year. Give him the opportunity and let him grow. This kid has something about him that feels right
Nine’ers can solve everything by leaving #13 under center, what’s so complicated ? it’s obvious he’s no fluke
Why would the 49ers get Brady? Not only is he old but they dont need Brady to win a super bowl.
If I was a NY reporter, I’d have asked Salleh to read the names on those receipts last night.
I’ve never understood the obsession with “comeback wins” most of the time it just means you played poorly for a couple quarters to put the team in that positions.
there are a few different styles to play calling
most teams will play different in response to what their opponents are doin. if you have a run heavy playbook, and it gets shut down... can your qb step up? if your qb is used to slants and screens, and that shit just isnt workin, can he see the open field and play the defense? these things matter to "finish" games. some players can handle a playbook and execute called perfectly, some players (like Mannining) can see/create opportunities. not guarenteed to ake you win, but it's something people want in a qb
I’m just hoping The Purdy situation isn’t like Mullens. Everyone sees 2 games, freaks out, and puts too much weight on the shoulders.
glad to see at least one other person remembers this
It may be far fetched… but MAN I hope Brock Purdy turns out to be the next Tom Brady! (The last QB picked who can help win more than a couple Super Bowls with his team) The 49ers trading a plethora of 1sts is similar to the Patriots who had made Drew Bledsoe the highest paid QB at the time, where both teams both lost a Super Bowl prior to their arrival!!
Tom Brady not taking a shower after getting his ass kicked was "LEGENDARY" really Mike??? LOL!!!
Glad I'm not the only 1 who thought this dude was being a suspect fanboy creep!
i love the Vulva. i subscribed and hit da bell!
Yeah, how has that worked out with pass blocking O-Linemen that get their QBs destroyed?
They can Tag Bosa for 2 seasons.
We can immediately take out any tom brady talk
If Shanahan wanted a guy that’s could run he should of take. Fields the blue chip 4.4 guy
That's who we should have drafted
Unless Brady is willing to take a MAJOR paycut, he will never be a Niner!
Jimmy G to the Jets. Makes perfect sense.
Jimmy G is made of glass, these injuries arer piling up and he'll decline very soon
Lance’s Trade Value is not high enough to Trade with his small sample size as he’s completely unproven at this point
Brady and shannahan would
Not fit. Shannahan has a plan, and he needs a YES man, not a veteran changing up plays on the fly.
And that's why we will not win the Superbowl if Shanny doesn't do what's best for the team not his arrogance and . Brady is a proven winner, sign him for a year. Tampa is trying to make him look bad, so he'll have no options and stay with them. PURDY can learn a lot from him
the trey lance hate is insane
Tom Brady makes sense for the 49ers if 2 things happen - Brock slides downhill in the latter games this season or in the playoffs, and Tom takes a hometown discount. Jimmy is gone, Trey isn’t ready, so Big Cock Brock is the question mark. If he continues to ball, it’s him and Trey in 2023 and we invest elsewhere. If not, say goodbye to Himmy, and keep Brock and Trey, and take Tom on a 2-year deal to get immediate production and coach up the youngins.
Niner gang! Mr relevant!
BROCK PURDY DOES HONESTLY GIVE BRADY VIBES... SO MANY SIMILARITIES IN THEIR STORIES

What dilemma??
The niners can play from behind...a quarter back isnt the only factor....they have the best def in nfl. The second half often belongs to the better defense and tougher O- line...the niners usually have both.
Only the treylusionals think there's a dilemma.
Brock Purdy QB1. EDIT: "They ran Trey inside because he can't get outside" Omg it's worst than I thougt...

Kyle Shannahan would of done great with Zach Wilson. But Brock Purdy is hungry and is ballin out.
Bosa def MVP
Brock was quarterbacking the 9ers against 2 good football teams.
Yeah, after the niners played those teams, their hearts were ripped out😂 19:34
DJ might be a backup, but its undeniable this was his best season since his rookie year.
Purdy is doing well, they should go with him
Trade lance for draft picks to a owner like Dan Snyder that way he can sell the team with a Russell Wilson type player that way 49ers can get some picks back....
absolutely not
Russell Wilson type player? You mean an inaccurate and injury prone player that has only played one season out the last 5? Someone that never had to run the 2 minute or 4 minute offense playing bottom tiered teams in college?

Kyle Shanahans biggest issue is taking his foot of the gas when he’s up big…
How this video is marketed: Watch Colin interview Mike Silver on Purdy, Lance, and Brady!
What this video actually is: Colin talking 90% of the time, repeating what he says on TV every 30 seconds, forgetting to credit Nick Wright along the way, and 10% of Silver trying to get a god damn word in because not even he expected to just sit there and listen to this guy for 45 minutes.
If Purdy continues like this, Kyle needs to give him half his paycheck for saving his butt.😁
The reason the offense has taken off is that Brock can roll out while Jimmy can’t. This masks the deficiencies on the offensive line and opens up the playbook. Brady and Jimmy are statues.
QB1 - Brock Purdy
QB2 - Jimmy G
Scout Team - Trey Lance
Herbert is 6'6" , and Allen is only 6'5"
The Niners traded two 1sts to move up, not two. You'll find the people who criticize the trade are the ones who use this terminology, and it's false.

stay with brock/trey.....unless brady will take a league min.
Should've got fields!!!
As a watch guy, it pains me to know Colin works with Vincero.
Remember Brady starting for Bledsoe? Looks like Purdy is doing likewise.
Trey Lance is still QB1 but there should be a legitimate competition in the off-season between Lance and Purdy. Lance needs to really up his game to win it but I think he does
You have to be kidding……..
We already have a QB why should we go for Tom Brady? Brock Purdy can do the job.
It’s an offensive line league. If you have a great one , life is good.
Trey Lance will be good. Also this reporter is fantastic.
Couldn't they get second round pick for Lance?
I’m sure sonebody is desperate enough
If he wanted Mac Jones he would have drafted him, and they wouldn't have had to trade up to get him.
33:00 Is this a joke? Forget coming from behind. Carr has the most come-from-ahead losses of any Qb this year.
Carr isn't worth a 2nd round pick. Maybe a conditional pick.
It will be the superbowl match-up we should have seen last year. 49ers/Bengals the trilogy
Trey lance is younger than purdy.. trey has so much room to grow. Purdy is already near his ceiling.. only time will tell how this plays out
Why? You never saw that from Jimmy.
Cmon Mike...it's only 2 1st picks and a swap of the 12 to 3. Every writer keeps saying this and it's really on 2 and they had to keep pace with the Rams getting away with getting every vet. Let it go
