For the past 28 years of welding and fabrication, I have been trying diligently to locate vintage cast iron layout squares for my trade. On occasion they crop up at tool auctions, and you travel a great distance only to be sniped at the auction and come back with nothing, or the only ones you found are heavily worn or no longer square.
