- The Inland Empire has always been considered one of the most affordable places to live in Southern California. However, with so many people moving there, the real estate market is red hot, meaning super expensive.

That’s the real estate agent that sold a couple a house where the previous owner refused to leave after the house closed. He looks so shady.
A lot of people are moving to Beaumont and Banning and all the residents who been here for years are pissed 😆
It was cheaper, I bought my home 7 years ago for $280k. Now everything is over $500k.
Sell it get a profit and move to a different state. 👍
💯
@@I_g_396 problem is if you ever want to move back won’t be able to get the equity to buy in California. Have family who moved out to Oregon and have been wanting to move back for years but the equity is not there.
I’m spoiled I could never sit in a car in traffic for 2-4 hours, that’s no longer living, that’s the ultimate suffering in life-on a daily
I had a long commute, it affected my happiness and well being. Having a close job is a blessing.
$625K in Jurupa Valley?!!!! 😳
the 91 is hell on earth .
Indeed!!
The 15 “Cajon Pass” is way worse.
Breh, and I thought that Agoura Hills to Santa Monica traffic was bad.
I did the opposite and moved from IE to LA. Main reason is the 91 is absolutely horrendous, even with FastTrak. At these prices it’s just not worth it, just pay a bit extra and move to LA/OC.
I predict when people start commuting to work, they’ll be regretting their purchases if they don’t live and work in the same city.
The wear and tear on the the body and the car being stuck in traffic for hours is not fun.
the irony is that most new houses and lots in the IE are bigger than LA so the total price per sq ft pretty much even out
It is A LOT HOTTER in the summer in the I.E.
2 months out of the year.
Depends where in the IE. I'm in Murrieta, my family is in Highland. I left Highland one evening at 9:00 pm. It was 90 when I left and as I drove the temperature dropped 20 degrees by the time I got home.
Yet people live in Vegas, Dubai, Phoenix, and Palm Springs which are way hotter and most of them are way more inland. If you have a pool, AC, temperature control clothing, or even misters system then your good lol
I'll be working in OC during the day until 6, so it's not really that bad.
It's never a "good time" to buy. Since 2008, have you heard once that it is a good time to buy? The crazy part, if you brought in 2006 (everyone considered the worst time to buy), and sell it now... that house would be considered a "good investment" now. Just buy when YOU are comfortable with the payments and don't go over what you can afford. When I got my first house back in 2009, it is a small old condo in Alhambra, CA. EVERYONE told me I overpaid for $395,000. Now its worth $750,000. Those that said I overpaid and will wait are STILL waiting.
In 2009, I paid 90k mine in Perris, and alot people, family members called me crazy. Now it's worth it 450k... I think I was not crazy at all
Heeyyyy to my Alhambra neighbor!! Ours is worth roughly around the same price too.
Is not a good time to buy a house at this time
I was a super commuter in 2004 doing that drive from Riverside to Irvine. This is nothing new. What is new is the ridiculous prices to buy in the IE now.
I moved to Oregon from LA
Bought a house for 300k
.15 acre 1200 Sq ft
1600 a month
Drive to work is a breeze through the back roads of the backcountry 🥰
20 minute drive zero traffic.
Pay car registration every 3 years 😅🤣
But NO equity 😆 , bought mine this year and already made 60k equity value
@@SCS-yx5hu 😅😅 yes equity. It's already valued at 390k😉
Happy I got a nice home while it was cheap 2½ acres 3 bed room 3 bathroom 3 car garage for 425k ... I could sell right now for 750k or higher .. my neighbors home just sold for 800k lol
What do you do for work ?
@@samuelsanchez5335 heavy equipment operator with local 12
Dang I got an acre for $130k with no neighbors:)
It's not because your property valve went up, it's because the dollar value went down! The dollar lost 95% of the value since 1913!
@@angli232 true but when you gain $50k in equity in less than a year:)
In 2013, as a cash buyer , I purchased the worst fixer upper In the best neighborhood- people laughed . Here we are years later....took my time to remodel, but I got it done... guess who’s laughing now. 😂😂😂
Mortgage Free is the way to be
I thought everyone was leaving California lol.
News Media will not tell the truth is that many people who leave LA are Leaving California.
People that are leaving California are typically married families with children that have equity in their homes that will go further in other states. Is either that, or they are renters that are looking to buy. There are loads of people moving TO California, specifically to the city areas, and these are people that do NOT have children and and/or do not plan to marry anytime soon. You probably won't hear any of this on the evening news.
Lol. I was in Dallas in may. So the Uber guy that was driving us asked. If people still leaves in California 🤣🤣.
Where are you going to move? Las Vegas and Phoenix home prices are going up like the Empire Inland.
People are leaving California, you can look up the net migration rates
No homes for first time buyers.. what the hell is the government for if not this?? Homelessness is going to SKYROCKET!!
Just leave California!! I'm happy to say my VA appraisal came yesterday and it came in at the purchase price. Best part NO DOWN PMT at 2.75%. Thank you VA. All just leave California if you could.
We’re moving to GA in January 2022, and there’s plenty of affordable homes for first time home buyer’s.
@@sebastianliu2009 VA=Virginia?
@@350BMW09 Weather sucks in GA. Salaries are much lower than CA. My friend commutes twice a month from GA to CA because his job in CA pays twice the same job in GA.
@@thomaskim5008 No. VA = Veterans Affair (I'm prior military)
Traffic is a nightmare in LA.
Why? If your leaving LA just keep heading East it gets cheaper and better once you leave CA
Yes!!! We left l.a in 2007 n own a nice home in Atlanta.. it's already paid off completely.
The more east you go, the worst the weather gets
@@Striker50_ weather is subjective. A lot of people do enjoy the weather of SoCal, but the IE is very hot a desert like in the summer. Also, the consistent droughts and wildfires of the LA area is a real concern.
Rent too. I'm paying $1540 for 2 bed 2 bath and current move in prices are now $2195.
WOW
I got in mine for 2500 and now it’s gone up to 2600 and the same units as mine vacant currently are listed for 3700!
Living in the Inland Empire isn’t for the weak!
The housing crisis is impacting middle class almost as readily as lower class. Sure they can sell having equity in the homes, those that own, but to purchase a new home absorbs their equity, thus whereas they can purchase, they will likely never be able to pay it off.
Watch out crime ridden cities. No talk about that.
a lot of gang members moving out that way lol the IE is wild now. People from a lot of different hoods
There's crime all over. No where is safe anymore.
Watch h the company u keep and the vices you’re into.
I use to drive 1:30 to work and 2:00 going home. After 11 years and 4 cars, I had to move.
The more that people move out there from OC and LA, the worst the traffic will get. The commutes are brutal. Is it worth it?
2007/2008 was free money from banks, REAL money involved now, SUPPLY vs DEMAND.
Lol that's the guy that sold a couple a house in Riverside and the original owners didn't move out after it closed. He didn't protect his clients on the contract!!
The traffic is due to a lack of the train system.
Indeed because LA like most major urban cities in California are wide open and tons of space unlike New York City which is made for "vertical housing" . Socal Train System is still in its infancy stage because of vast wide open space and Socal is coined as "automobile society". We were convinced to believe we don't need a great railway system that is why a family household that has at least 3 cars in a driveway or garage is the norm.
@@obey2dmax The Bay area has the Bart system. Why LA does not?
@@thomaskim5008 Politics and Topography. Bay Area is concentrated in 1 area unlike City of LA is spread out.

Include these gas prices and they might be losing money
Happening everywhere forget owning a home if you're not rich
So sad though.
You don’t need to be rich, but you do need to be a hard worker and think outside the box. I’ve noticed some families are getting together to buy and rent it out to make money and a few years later they split and get some equity to buy on their own
@@picilocarnal if the renter don’t screw the owner just depends. It’s to much a racket right now
Why super commuter if you can work from home remote? That’s why they moved there to avoid commuting to the office. Makes no sense.
That IE to OC commute will make you miserable.... And you'll be getting gas 2-3 times per/week. Plus wear n tear on your body and vehicle..... I'd never do it.
Those ladies are top notch because they are still fighting the good fight.
I recall when I left college I had to take a job 2 hours, each way, for my job but it had to be done.
Now my commute is 15 min. each way. But, but I have to pay $6.00 per day to cross the bay bridge.
That’s me. That’s why I got the can-am Ryker lovin it.
Glad our place was cheap when we moved 5 years ago
Inland empire is horrible
3-4 hour commute 😮😮. Omg, can she move out of California?? That is insane. Sounds like IE might be cheaper, but doesn't have as many job opportunities as LA.😔😔
I'm in Blythe,CA.....I'm as far east as you can go in California. 100 miles east of Indio.....I can see Arizona from my home...direct line of sight.
I could see this coming years ago so I payed off my mortgage in 2019 and waited to see what would happen I was going to buy another house but not now the markets are going crazy so I will continue to waiting
I want to live in my hometown and close to my work, but it's to expensive! Too much greed .
Not greed, supply and demand. Little supply, lots of demand.
I commuted to LA and Orange County from Riverside, for over 30 years. Tough thing to do.
She straight said "Sky rotting" before "Sky Rocketting" AHAhhahahah
I.E. is bankrupt forclosed property priced at original loan + interest that was never paid over the years property was empty and increased taxes to keep city, county, administrators rolling in cash then pass all this on to renters/buyers. lower price to what the market can afford instead of max price for resort property. like Big Bear property.
I was lucky enough to buy a house during the pandemic in watts for 440k sold about 3 months ago now I live in Lancaster. Prices going up and up and up!!!
Lancaster is a terrible place as well though
@@billybob6469 yeh I think it’s pretty bad anywhere now. I live on the westside of Lancaster which is somewhat ok.
@@dadsyeswecan724 if homes are anything like stocks they’re due for a correction sometime soon. And yes I actually live in the high desert but in the Victorville area and it’s becoming terrible here too. Might have to move out of state
Lancaster has what about 20 murders a year , after rasing my children in Watts during the crack epidemic of the 80's , Lancaster as my eldest would say is dry, and the West side of Lancaster can be considered serene for the 5th most populous city in LA county , and the 5th largest city by land area in California.
Lancaster is considered bad subconciously because of a high black population in the only area of LA County which vote for Republican officals , local, county, and State. Prior to 1964 Americans of African descent wasn't even allowed to live in Lancaster or Palmdale.
But to your point, as the saying goes, you can take the person out the hood, but you cannot take the hood out of the person. One would think suburban living naturally brings order to ones being. But sometimes you just cannot take people anywhere.
@@deborahgladden2253 exactly. It’s not the color of the people but seems like the people that move places my to bring those places with them. Might as well stay where you are and not ruin somewhere else.

Welcome to communist land. This is exactly what carls Marx said in order to create a communist community amazing 👏
Things being expensive or high priced which requires high income of a well to do, is the complete opposite of communism. Afterall California is the 5th largest enconomy in the world. It seems whenever we seek to dilute or dispatch ancestral tendency and tradition, the deplorables throw around this word communism just to mask convervatives real intentions of maintaining ancestral status quo. America will forever be crap as long as the minimum wage remains decades behind the cost of living. I am rerired, and old enough to remember when only my husbands working class income was enough to get the mortgage by himself.
In true communism a 1400 sq house in Watts originally 23k, would not currently sell at 400k . Liberal overreach or policies that you do not like is not communism. Stop using words and terms out of their proper context and sense. It just make many of you appear unlearned and unwise.
