Eli is actually the female protagonist from "Let the Right One In". It's a Swedish vampire novel that was adapted to movie in Sweden and then later here in the US. It's an interesting take on the teenage vampire love story in that Eli isn't sparkly is an almost bestial in her appetites and the way she defends her lover.

Seems like a nice coffee table book. I did find it interesting that when you showed the Zombies from the Romero-verse on the map it showed the filming locations of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. That was a nice touch.
I would say that "Dracula" CAN be a difficult read, by today's standards, because the pace is much slower and the text much denser than we tend to favor today. However, it is worth the effort because, once it gets going, it really gets going and is great. On a personal note, being from Texas, I was amused that one of the main characters is actually from Texas. If you can't really hack it then the movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula" by Fances Ford Coppola, is a pretty close adaption (with some stuff added and altered as needed).
OH MY GOD... I've heard about the beast of Bray Road!!! The picture of it stealing a deer out of a truck made me think about a legend up near Holy Hills. Then I paused the video to check where it originated from and sure enough... there it was... good ol' Wisconsin. My lovely homestate. Nice to know our werewolves are good enough for this book! Also did you know that in that same area there is another creature of sorts, its like some kind of anthropomorphic goat- bear hybrid. I love Wisconsin!
And Nidhöggr is not just any dragon, he is crushing the bodies of criminals in afterlife and gnawing the world trees trunk, which will ultimately result in ragnarök, when the tree falls!
Gosh I love my copy of this book, very nice and detailed. My favorite creature from this book is the Jikininki, I just find him so cute for some reason :3
Off topic, but the word "Penanggalan" comes from the word "tanggal", which means "to separate", so the beast itself is a disembodied woman's head with a trail of organs trailing from its neck.
Bro this book was the one book that everyone would borrow at the library, and now that I re discovered it I’ve been trying to get a free download of it but I can’t find it and I’m nearly crying cause I’m going to spend 8 dollars on it
Does anyone know a film where some muscular mutant zombie thing chases some people yet gets defeated and a bunch of zombies torn the the mutant apart....?
i know the video is pretty old now, but i just wanted to point out that you were thinking of the rougarou, that is a type of werewolf from France as opposed to the loopgarou is the video
Elizabeth Bathory may have been a real woman, but then again the inspiration for Dracula was also a real man. He was known as Vlad the Impaler. Look him up.
+Rosie Low Vlad Tepes, the Son of the Dragon. I know him well. The myths about him may be fantastical but the man was real and not some supernatural monstrosity. Real people are capable of monstrous acts. They are not monsters however.

3:21 Technically, you are right cause zombies are supposed to be dead people brought back to life while the infected from I am Legend are just sick people who are still alive. Maybe you also meant that zombies are supposed to be magical and not biological sci fi like the infected from I am Legend? I don't know.
Elizabeth Bathory was a real person, but she is personified as a vampire in European folklore because of her acts that were similar to a vampire. When most people hear her name the word vampire comes to min because of what she did.
All very true. It doesn't change the fact that she was a real person, not a 'monster' however. The narrative that 'bad people' are 'monsters' is unhealthy to my mind. If we spend our time guarding ourselves from 'monsters' we will never see the Bundys and Dahmers of the world. Humans commit monstrous acts, they are not actual monsters. Not to mention this is a book aimed at children. Perhaps not the best place to be discussing real world serial killers that bathed in actual human blood.
She herself was not a vampire, but her acts led to the personification of a vampire. It is like two different Elizabeth Bathorys: one that was an actual human in time, and another for folklore.
She's still not a vampire. She's just a serial killer. It would be illogical to think of her more as a vampire than as a human when the obvious fact is that she was a human in reality. Plus, the fact is that she was mostly notorious as a human serial killer and not as a vampire. Vampires aren't real.

The Infected from I Am Legend are considered vampires, not zombies. Though you are correct, they are just sick humans.

Yes, but most of them are traditionally undead as opposed to living persons with an infection.
