This car has been extremely well maintained and loved by its owner. With just over 66K miles, this car still has a ton of life left. The 126 chassis was the last of the uncomplicated truly durable Mercedes. I owned a 420 and sold it with over 300000 miles. I was able to maintain it during my ownership. My 222 chassis, while being a beautiful car is not built to the same standards.

What an absolute tank of a car... in a good way. Not even close to broken in either, these cars go for 200K+ if maintained properly.
Some of these cars are used as taxis in other countries and have well over 400,000 miles on them. Easily.
Both are superb...
Wow to see one of these s-classes of the generation 1986-1991 which is a one owner with less than 70,000 original miles is extremely rare. This car is over 25 years old and in amazing condition. I personally love the 300SEL because you get the size of the long body wheelbase but the gas mileage and durability of the inline 6. This is a very impressive car.
*I had a 420SE V8 All Aluminium Engine from 1988 - 2013 and garaged and only covered 42,000 Miles. Sold it to my nephew and it's still running around. A true Classic. However I now have a B200 CDi AMG Sport (Diesel) which can and has done 143 MPH (verified on Sat-Nav) and 74.2 MPG. The best I ever got on the 420 was just under 30 mpg and 142 on Speedo. I would add those top speeds were achieved on German Autobahns around München on the A8 - Much prefer the B200 with all the up to date gadgets.*

The model run of the W126 in the USA was from 1981-1991, and the wheelbase for the long wheelbase models was stretched 5" or 6" at most therefore the additional legroom in the rear seat amounted to 5" or 6" at best, NOT 8" as stated.
The eye candy comes with the auto, of course!
