An even more fundamental issue is whether the system we call "capitalism" is really something very different. The historical origins of our systems of law and taxation are found in agrarian landlordism. The system evolved but without removing the presence of rentier privilege. Today, the system in almost all societies is some version of agrarian, commercial, industrial and financial landlordism. The main differences are differences in the degree to which the state affects a redistribution of wealth. Social democracy mitigates the fundamental redistribution of wealth from producers to non-producing rentier interests. The solution to the problems was, I would argue, best articulated by Henry George in the late 19th century. Rent from all sources must be treated as societal income in order to eliminate land monopoly, land speculation and rent-seeking in nature from our societal structures.

@@pygmalion8952 The form of cooperative housing that restricts the amount of gain on the sale of shares in the coop is a step in the right direction. But, it is still just a band-aid on the existing system. The same is true of housing in a community land trust that imposes restrictions on resale of one's housing unit to households with a certain maximum income for based on an appraisal of the housing unit only. These and many other efforts to offset the workings of the land market are needed but needed only because so little of the full rental value of land is not publicly collected.

Que determinados derechos y jurisprudencias tengan su origen en las formas agrarias , no quiere decir que estén casadas con ellas .Así mismo el sistema económico actúa a través de leyes que son como las de la gravedad, es decir están fuera del control humano asi sea el Estado.

Income taxes were introduced during the civil war and never went away. The problem with Fiat is that the other option, the gold standard, is- partially due to the early industrial revolution money printing led to speculation and the Depression- gold inability to stimulate is misconstrued as a flaw rather than a feature. The dropping of it has led to a pandora box of fiat abuse which we call supply side economics or rather when taxes marry and subsidize finance finally- which the rentier loves because they own the supply and due to abuse of taxes, the demand is limitless. Ie student loans, actual rents due to money printing, insulin, equities etc

@@cmath6454 Solving the land and money issues has proven to be very problematic given the vested interests in the existing arrangements. Ideology, in my view, blinds many on the left and on the right to what logic points to as the solutions.

For as long as we hold onto the old labels for what are at best, rough approximations, and believe in Mathematics without understanding it's real-time logarithmic singularity positioning origins, economics will always be chaotic jingoistic randomised noise.., just the way the predators of all levels, (and we are all part of a metastable, fundamentally interconnected=parasitic system), like it.
How Actuality operates in the Event Horizons QM-TIME Completeness cause-effect probability Totality, is essential to learning and teaching re-regulation and re-evolution as it is.
Logically, an idea comes before its execution, but politics has become merely a set of off-the-shelf formulae and sticking anachronistic labels on the forms is pure futility, ie the mechanism of economy in ecology is being ignored by authoritarian Denialist powers. It is not actually useful self-denial of a population working towards an agreed purpose and goal. Obviously we don't need or want to continue with WMDs and burn-to-destruction fossil fuels to voluntarily sacrifice health and welfare. Fraudulent war-footing economics is killing the world.
