  • New for the 2021-22 season, the Sift Current 6 at Big Sky Montana is a 6 person detachable chairlift; featuring heated seats (with custom seat cushions), blue bubbles, and a charkit loading conveyor. It is the second Doppelmayr D-Line at Big Sky following the installation of the Ramcharger 8 in 2018, and is the first D-Line R1 in North America. Being the main lift out of the base of the Big Sky base area, it plays a crucial part in giving skiers access to either the western or eastern half of the mountain. From the top of the lift, riders can access Moonlight Basin, Powder Seeker (Big Sky Bowl), Shedhorn, and Explorer areas. It is also the second longest lift at Big Sky (Six Shooter is longer at 8700 feet), which at the time made it the longest doppelmayr D-Line in the world when opened.
